Clarifying the Facts - Hurry Up!

Greetings to Falun Dafa practitioners!

[PureInsight.org] At the 2001 Washington DC Fa conference, Master said that clarifying the facts is a must-do for Dafa disciples. Using the media to expose evil and save sentient beings is a shortcut. So far in Sweden, we have three TV stations and two radio stations. The three TV stations are located in Stockholm (the capital of Sweden), Austloos and Uppsala (a university city). All broadcasts of Falun Dafa programs are in Chinese and Swedish, one hour every week. Sound of Hope radio station started broadcasting in Malmo (the third largest city in Sweden), two hours every week. Falun Gong Time Radio Station started on January 4^th, 2002. From nothing to having our own TV and radio, from one language to three languages to tell people about what we want to say, was not a smooth path. Following Master's teaching the members in our team use the Fa to weigh themselves and improve their xinxing. In this team, we have high school students, university students and social workers. Currently, every practitioner uses one's pure heart to quietly do what a Dafa disciple should do. We have half Chinese practitioners and half Westerners in our team. We cooperated closely and formed an integrated unit to expose the evil, clarify the facts and let more people understand Jiang regime's crimes against Dafa.

There was a short story about the formation of our team. At first, I thought about establishing a national Chinese radio station. When I consulted some of the concerned governmental departments, they told me that since there were less than 20,000 Chinese in Sweden, it was not feasible to have a national radio station, but they would consider a regional one. After I agreed, I received a pile of documents and forms to fill out. The documents were all about the regulations and laws. My language is not very good, and this many documents stunned me. So I thought I must find a Swedish practitioner to help me, so we can develop two programs of two different languages. I found a good candidate and talked about my ideas to her. But she gave me a direct rejection, "I will never do this." This was like a blow to my head. I remembered I said, "OK, even if you don't want to join, I will still do it, but please give me a ride to the radio station, so that I can see what it is like. I have never seen a radio station before." When she heard my request, she continued, "I'll only give you a ride. I don't want to open a radio station with you." I said, "OK, just take me there. We will see what will happen in the future." That actually was the start of our pleasant collaboration that has continued up to the present.

After the radio station operated for some time the "Falun Gong Time" program, many practitioners asked if we had a large audience and suggested we conduct a survey. If there were no audience, we would wasting money. Some practitioners worried that the name of the station drove away the audience, so they suggested changing the name. At that time, I thought it was good to know how much of an audience we had, so I consulted with an organization. Their price quotation of the survey was very high, almost as much as a year's broadcasting cost. So I decided not to run the survey. If no human on the earth were listening to our program, the gods in other dimension still wanted to listen. "Falun Gong Time" is not a simple radio program. It has the power to suppress the evil and it is Dafa practitioners' tool. It is like a sharp sword that pierces the evil. Our "Falun Gong Time" has a lot of programs in it. It has a weekly news review that covers most recent reports about Falun Gong activities around the world, persecution cases, bad deeds of the vicious people, short stories about karmic retributions, topical forums, special reports, historical stories and Dafa music. Even if we have only one member left in our team, we would continue with our broadcasting.

Early August of this year, we found some propaganda materials against us in the break room of the radio station. After some query, we found it was from the Chinese Consul in Stockholm, who came to the radio station in person and spread lies to the director. It even threatened the local government that if the radio station didn't stop the "Falun Gong Time," they would stop the financial support to the radio station. Because Stockholm and Shanghai are friendship cities, they can use economic benefits and trade to threaten the radio station. This is not an occasional matter. Actually, it gave us a big shock. From this incident, we understood that this radio program is not a game, nor is it an optional program. This is the thing that disciples of Fa-rectification period must do. This is saving the sentient beings with enormous compassion and is solemn. The Fa-rectification will not be utilized by any life, any human heart. After this happened, our team members decided we would not change its name. At the same time, we decided to expose the behavior of the evil to the public and let all Swedish people know that Chinese diplomats were violating the Swedish Constitution. So we sent letters to all the officials in the related offices of the local government and made appointments with some of them. These officials we met were members of Parliament and officials in the Foreign Ministry. We held a press conference and also reported the case to the police department. The Swedish media gave it a lot of coverage. We also used this chance to conduct interviews and reported on this incident in our program. The Members of Parliament believed the action of the Chinese Consulate was outside the range of consular authority and violated the Vienna Treaty. It also broke the Swedish Constitution. Amnesty International of Sweden said they believed it was not acceptable, and it was slanderous. An expert on International Law said their behavior was foolish. Even my colleagues said, "They were so ridiculous. This is Sweden. If they abduct you, we will come to rescue you." We were very happy and relieved to see people choosing the righteous side, and to be saved.

Up to this date, in Northern Europe, we established three New Tang Dynasty TV teams. Two of them are in Sweden, and the other one is in Denmark. The Denmark team covers Malmo News, the Gothenburg team covers Norway and the Stockholm Team covers Finland. So the major Northern Europe news will be covered and uploaded to headquarters. In order to set up our own TV station, from knowing nothing about photography to producing important news pieces, practitioners overcome many obstacles. This step of progress included the practitioners' belief in the Fa, as well as the unselfish support and help from North American practitioners.

The practitioners have to be responsible to Fa-rectification and believe in Master. No matter how difficult it is, we must follow the Fa-rectification process. The number of Chinese practitioners in Sweden is a little over ten. With less manpower and a lot of work, every one has to do multiple tasks. One person is used like ten or more people. The TV team, with only five people, has a shortage of manpower. Some are running businesses and some are office workers. An important challenge was to produce good news reports. How to sense the news? How to produce news programs? All are new and need time to learn. Most of the team members are from the medical area and they know nothing about producing TV programs. The practitioners couldn't let anything stop them. They flew to New York to learn the techniques. The practitioners of NTDTV prepared course materials for us and patiently taught us footage shooting, light arrangement, makeup, etc. In order to save expenses, the practitioners let us to use their best bedroom in the house and cooked delicious food for us. Among Dafa practitioners, what kind of spirit is there? In this materialistic world, only among Dafa practitioners can you see such sincerity and honesty. It is the merit of the Fa.

After returning from New York, we dove into the busy TV program work. I still remember the first time we made a news report and needed picture and voice editing. At first, it just didn't work, but the practitioners didn't complain. They tried to edit it again and again until they were satisfied. Sometimes, we had to work the whole night to finish a single piece. Everyone has his or her own job in the daytime and they have to study or work the next day. Even though we worked so hard, nobody felt tired. Sometimes, we had to choose from different footages and had different opinions. We would discuss it and solve the problem. In the past, everyone would stick to one's own idea and thought his or her idea was the best. When the conflict couldn't be resolved, I would simply leave and went home. Sometimes, I remembered "forbearance" and tried to exercise it, so I would keep my mouth shut, but still disagreed with them in my heart. As Fa-rectification has moved to this stage, the practitioners now have more and more forbearance. So, if it is best for the Fa, we would pick the idea, no matter whom it was from. Since then, the work is going smoother.

We are all Fa-rectification period disciples, and all we do during Fa-rectification is a process of our own cultivation. We shall not only use all the opportunity to save more sentient beings, but also use all chances to cultivate ourselves. Because we are still human beings in cultivation, we will still have human mindsets and have attachments. So there will be xinxing conflicts among practitioners. How to give up our attachments and raise our xinxing? There is no other path and the only way is to follow Master's teaching, study the Fa more and better. Master also told us that when we were studying the Fa, we were improving and changing. "The Fa can break all attachments, the Fa can destroy all evil, the Fa can shatter all lies, and the Fa can strengthen righteous thoughts." (From "Drive Out Interference" in Essentials for Further Advancement II)Master pulled us out from hell, endured all for us and taught us the path of cultivation to Consummation. This enormous Compassion cannot be expressed with human language. Facing what Master has done for us, do we have any excuse to say no, say it was too difficult or that I can't cultivate successfully? Is there any attachment that we can't give up?

During these years of cultivation, I have two understandings. If you remember Master in your heart all the time, you can bear any mistreatment and feel no resentment. You can walk over any tribulation with calmness and peace. Secondly, studying the Fa is very important. In the lectures of the last two years, Master mentioned the importance of Fa study and how to study the Fa every time. This is the critical part. When you study the Fa with your pure heart and without begging for this or that, a higher level of Fa will be displayed to you. This is real and Master is caring for us all the time. When you have an attachment, Master will give you a hint in the Fa. When you do well, Master will encourage you in the Fa. If we follow Master's teaching, we can develop more and more Compassion and Forbearance and reach the totally unselfish and righteous enlightenment. At this critical Fa-rectification time, while cultivating ourselves, let's clarify the truth, save sentient beings and hurry up.
