I am twelve years old this year. I obtained the Fa six years ago. I would like to share with you my understandings gained through fact clarification via on-line chatting.
I was born in the United States. Since I was young, I could only speak some very basic Mandarin and Cantonese. When I was eight, my dad was determined to teach me Chinese Kangji. My dad first taught me Pin Yin, then when I almost mastered it, my Dad started to teach me to read "Lunyu" from Zhuan Falun. At the very beginning, I misread many words, in fact, I almost misread every word. My dad spent almost three months with me before I could read "Lunyu" smoothly. Then, the Chinese Government started to persecute Falun Gong. Later, my dad was very busy and had no time to teach me Chinese. I had to learn slowly from others during the weekly group Fa study. I tried very hard. As a result, after eight months, I could almost completely read Zhuan Falun.
Because Falun Gong is being persecuted in China, I felt that, as a little Dafa disciple, I should also clarify the facts to Chinese people inside of China. I met a friend who often clarified the facts through on-line chatting. When she was doing this, I stood next to her to see how she chatted. Later she introduced me to a chat room as well as some software I could use. As a result I also joined in. Because my dad taught me Pin Yin, I could use it to type Chinese on the computer. From that day on, everyday I have been clarifying the facts in chat rooms. Although I type slowly, I did not give up. At the very beginning, when I clarified the facts in a chat room called newwave.net, I introduced myself as an 18-year old. I did this because I was concerned that they would not want to chat with me if they knew my real age, and that they would consider me to be too young to know enough to judge why the Chinese Government should not persecute Falun Gong. At the beginning, this way worked, but later it gradually got more and more difficult. Usually, I always first got to know my chat friend very well before I start to clarify the facts. This way, I give them the impression that Falun Gong practitioners are quite normal. Once, when I was just getting to know my chat friend very well, one of my chat friends asked me whether I took the college entrance examination. I answered yes. Then, that friend asked me how I did on the SAT test and what score I got. I suddenly felt very hot, since I did not know what the SAT is, I could not answer. Not knowing what to do, I told my chat friend that my mother asked me to have lunch and in this way, I retreated from the chat room. Later when I sat down, the more I thought about this, the worse I felt. Finally, I realized that, when clarifying the facts, I always talk about how our Falun Gong practitioners are all trying to be better people following the principals of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance. Yet, I myself was not living up to these principles, so how could I clarify the facts like this? From that day on, I started to use my true age to clarify the facts. As a result, the effect was even better than before. I told my chat friends that I am only eleven. They did not believe it and asked how such a young child could understand so many things that even grown-ups can notunderstand. They said that I am so mature, and that my Chinese is so good, considering that I was born in America. They considered me to be extraordinary.
I feel that it is better to clarify the facts by playing the role of a bystander; this way the outcome is better. This is because Chinese chat friends all have some psychological distance from Falun Gong practitioners. Because of this, they will talk from a shallow level and gradually get deeper. Every time I used this approach, the fact clarification came out very smoothly. Once, a chat friend told me: "You must not be a Falun Gong practitioner, since Falun Gong practitioners could not be like the way you are." Later, when I told him that I am a Falun Gong practitioner, he was very shocked and also knew the truth with no need for me to explain further.
Every time I start to clarify the truth, I always send forth righteous thoughts to eliminate the evil in other dimensions. After that, I start talking about SARS and then gradually get to the topic of the truth of Falun Gong. Sometimes, I do not even need to talk about Falun Gong before my chat friend feels that I am quite normal, and not like how the Chinese Government describes Falun Gong practitioners. In fact, I always feel that when your chat friends observe your behavior and feel that you are like everyone else, they will be willing to chat with you and this in itself already has the effect of clarifying the facts. However, some people were still very stubborn and still had animosity towards Falun Gong. I would then talk to them about how kindness is rewarded and evil is punished. First, I say: "People in the old days used to say: kindness is rewarded and evil is punished, so if you are not clear about something, please do not talk about it incorrectly." Sometimes, this will make the listener think calmly before making statements. Since the listener already knows me relatively well through chatting and knows that I understand lots of things, not like a young child, he or she would listen to what I say. I then say: "Recently I saw a website and in it there are some articles on how foreign countries comment on the Chinese Government. Do you know about this?" My chat friend was very curious upon hearing of this and asked me what kind of comments. This way they do not feel offended and also they don't start to say bad things. At the very beginning I was afraid to talk directly about Jiang's persecution of Falun Gong. So, I would first give the example of how SARS was covered up and how it later exploded in China. This way the listener could accept the truth more easily after his or her mind is opened up. Then, I gradually get onto the topic of the truth of the persecution of Falun Gong.
Once, when I was clarifying the facts, a chat friend told me, after learning that I live in Las Vegas, "Several days ago, I received a Falun Gong VCD sent to me from Las Vegas. But I do not want to watch it." I had to talk to him about the truth of the self-immolation in Tiananmen. He did not believe me, asking me: "Do you have evidence?" I said, "Sure, the evidence is on that VCD." He said, "All right, then I will watch this VCD."
Someone who has chatted with me always has a very good impression of Falun Gong. After I clarified the facts to him, I started introducing the Fa to him (at that time he did not know that I am a Falun Gong practitioner). I told him that I had to wear eye glasses ever since I was very little, but after I started to do a qigong practice, my eye sight totally recovered. My chat friend immediately asked me: "What kind of practice has such a miraculous effect?" I answered: "Oh, in fact I practice Falun Gong."
There was a chat friend from Inner Mongolia. Because he already dislikes Jiang, after hearing the truth, he said that he will beat and yell at Jiang when Falun Gong receives recognition again in China. He then told me how bad Jiang is, and that Jiang is a thief who betrayed the country. Although when he was talking to me he used lots of words that are not very nice, I still felt happy for him, since he knew the truth. There was one uncle, after listening to the truth I told him, who felt very grateful since he became much more clear-headed after chatting with me. I know that their hearts were filled with gratitude, since, like Teacher said, everyone has a knowing side.
Now I have clarified the truth to over 150 chat friends. After they recognized the truth, they all had very good impressions of me. They asked me: "Is it true that you are only twelve?" I answered, "Yes." They were all very surprised. I know that my wisdom is from Dafa cultivation and is given to me by Master. On-line chatting is a good method to clarify the facts, but inevitably you will meet some bad people using bad language and dirty words. If you are not cultivating by studying the Fa, it is very easy for one to get polluted. I still gave them the opportunity to hear the truth. As a cultivator, others can treat me badly, but I will not treat others badly.
