[PureInsight.org] "寻龙" refers to the search for dragon veins, while "点穴" means to find the true acupoints on the dragon veins. There is a saying that goes "Three years to search for dragon veins, ten years to find the true acupoints". In the folk tradition of Feng Shui, the basic knowledge is primarily based on the external form.
Knowledge of external form is the foundation of Feng Shui and is also a basic technique that Feng Shui practitioners must master. However, over thousands of years of inheritance, these basic knowledge of external form have become increasingly confused, with more and more rules and details. On the surface, it seems like Feng Shui has become more and more enriched, but in reality, it has lost sight of its original purpose.
There are many so-called "secrets of searching for dragon veins" in folk tradition, but they are of little use in practice. For example, there is a saying that goes from Mount Taizu to the parents' mountain, only the five elements that generate each other are true dragon veins, which means that there are five mountains in the middle that respectively represent the five elements of metal, wood, water, fire, and earth, and they are arranged in the order of wood generating fire, fire generating earth, earth generating metal, metal generating water, and water generating wood, which generate each other. However, in reality, many dragon veins extend for dozens, hundreds, or even longer distances, with dozens or even hundreds of mountain peaks in between. Based on the external form of these mountain peaks, it is possible to identify both generating and controlling elements, but it is impossible to determine them simply based on the order of the five elements generating each other.
Searching for dragon veins and identifying acupoints both require people’s supernormal capability. Depending on how well the supernormal capability is developed, the scope of what can be seen will differ. Those with well-developed supernormal capability can easily enter into a state of meditation and see the general topography and acupoints. This topography is not only limited to the external form of the mountain ranges in this physical space but can also include the images of the spirits and gods associated with the mountain ranges in another space. Highly skilled Feng Shui practitioners can see the entire dragon vein and its acupoints at a glance. Some can see far distances while others are limited to a specific area. Some can see with their eyes open while others need to close their eyes. In reality, whether one's eyes are open or closed doesn't make a big difference; it's just a matter of personal preference and habit. Some feel that closing their eyes and entering into a state of meditation helps them concentrate better.
Some people can see images when they are meditating, but this has certain conditions and limitations. You must be in a meditative state and reach a certain level of concentration to see them. If your meditative state is not good, you won't be able to see anything. Others may dream about it, and this also comes in different forms. Some dreams will directly tell you the approximate location, and you can go there to find it. Others won't give you any clues, and you'll only realize that you've dreamed about it when you happen to visit that place at some point. Many Feng Shui enthusiasts have had such experiences, but they are often occasional and passive manifestations.
Many of the dreams we talk about are actually experiences of a person's Yuan Shen (primordial spirit) leaving their body and going to another space, or his/her Celestial Eye is open, but for various reasons, the person can't see it when he/she awake, so he/she can only see it when he/she is asleep at night.
There is an even more convenient method, which is direct communication. Feng Shui practitioners who have cultivated the Dao can directly communicate with the living beings on the acupuncture points. They will tell you where the acupuncture point is, which direction to go, how far to go, and so on. The higher the level of the advanced life form, the more beautiful their language is, and their words are often like poetry. Therefore, many times, they communicate with you through poetry-like language, one poem after another.
Once, I was invited to go to a mountain and communicate with a spirit on one of its acupoints. I searched around the mountain and felt like I was close, but I just couldn't find the acupoint. The master who invited me chuckled and said, "You've walked past it without recognizing the true face of Mount Lu." After contemplating his words, I looked down and suddenly realized that the acupoint was right beneath my feet. It was surrounded by a circle of stones that were buried in the ground, with only a small part of them visible on the surface. If you didn't pay attention, it would be hard to notice.
There was another time when the life form at the location of the acupoint directly told me to walk down the cliff about fifty meters. At that time, I didn't really believe it, thinking that it was the cliff at the top of the mountain, how could I go down. Later, I was told that there was a small, not very obvious path at the edge of the cliff that could be used to go down. Following the guidance, I found a small path that sloped down to the middle of the cliff, where there was indeed a piece of land suitable for a tomb. However, this acupoint had already been arranged to be used by the heavens. It was used by an ancient practitioner who received a divine decree, flew here, and dropped a drop of blood, and set up the layout.
Feng Shui used to be called Feng Shui art in the past, and it actually has some reasoning behind it. It is a type of art that is applied. As we know, a true Feng Shui master needs to cultivate and enter the Dao, and enter the Feng Shui way. Therefore, during cultivation, they may cultivate supernormal capability and arts related to the earth and Feng Shui, which are then applied in activities related to Feng Shui such as seeking dragon veins and locating acupoints.
In ancient China, every profession had its corresponding capability and application. For example, in traditional Chinese medicine, people who practice it may develop supernormal capability, such as the ability to see the body like slicing it layer by layer with their heavenly eyes. Many diseases have corresponding treatments, and using non-corresponding treatments may not work as well.
Having just the ability is not enough, you also need to be recognized by the heavens to work in that profession. It's like the certification of qualifications we have in society nowadays, such as the accounting qualification certificate, the teacher qualification certificate, the medical qualification certificate, etc., but these are certifications issued by people to people. In ancient China, these professions were recognized by the heavens. That's why traditional Chinese culture is also referred to as divine culture, and it makes sense.
What people generally think are good sites for high-ranking officials or for emperors to reside in, are actually low-level sites for Feng Shui masters who have received true teachings and entered into the practice. These sites are easy to find, but most Feng Shui masters at this level already understand this principle and would not use these sites without receiving heavenly mandate.
Due to the complexity of space, the act of locating acupoints is also very complex and involves many aspects, sometimes you may touch on something and not even know it. For example, once I arrived at a Golden Dragon acupoint and made contact directly with the spirit of this site, connecting with a golden dragon. When I returned, I found that a silver dragon was following me, very unhappy and looking for trouble. When I asked for the reason, it turned out that he had also set his sights on this site and had been waiting here for a long time, hoping to eventually acquire it. Fortunately, we were able to negotiate and resolve the matter. If we had not resolved this karmic issue, besides this silver dragon causing trouble now, in the future, if the site were to bring prosperity, there would be disputes between brothers in the corresponding family, and the person in charge of the family would face opposition from a certain brother within the family. Of course, due to the arrangement of heavenly fate, these conflicts will not succeed, but they will add to the hardships and setbacks.
To be continued.
