[PureInsight.org] The COVID-19 (CCP virus) pandemic has never disappeared from mainland China. The Chinese Communist Party (CCP), in the interest of maintaining stability, has consistently prohibited the reporting of negative news related to the pandemic. After the CCP was forced to lift lockdown measures in December 2022, the situation swung to the other extreme of “lying flat” leading to widespread infections among the mainland Chinese population and another peak in deaths.
While the pandemic has gradually faded around the world, it has not subsided in mainland China. Embarrassed by this reality, the CCP continues to cover up the situation, deliberately conflating COVID-19 (CCP virus) with the common cold, influenza, and pneumonia. Throughout 2024, the CCP strictly controlled reports on the pandemic, attempting to create the illusion that COVID-19 (CCP virus) had disappeared from mainland China. However, by the end of 2024, a massive influenza A outbreak swept across the mainland. The CCP did not release any statistics on severe cases or deaths, but the public exposed numerous severe cases and fatalities on social media. Some families of the deceased discovered that the death certificates of their loved ones, who had died from influenza A, listed other causes of death. Many people have called on the CCP to disclose the true data. Meanwhile, Hong Kong reported 137 influenza A-related deaths within a month.
On January 16, the CCP’s Joint Prevention and Control Mechanism of the State Council suddenly issued a notice requiring epidemic prevention work to be strengthened before and after the 2025 Lunar New Year, specifically mentioning COVID-19 (CCP virus). Xinhua News Agency, rarely seen reporting bad news about the pandemic, promptly featured the report on its homepage. As the New Year approaches, the state media is busy singing praises of the Party. Even earthquakes in Tibet and other areas have been whitewashed as positive news. Given this context, Xinhua’s sudden report on the pandemic is highly unusual.
The Joint Prevention and Control Mechanism of the State Council remained largely silent throughout 2024 but abruptly issued a pandemic prevention notice in 2025. The only reasonable explanation is that the CCP has realized the pandemic is spiraling out of control and can no longer be concealed. Thus, they chose to break the bad news before the New Year while also preparing a scapegoat.
In 2003, we all experienced the SARS outbreak. At the time, the CCP outright lied to cover up the epidemic, claiming that there was no major outbreak, just a mycoplasma infection, and insisted that the Canton Fair proceed as usual. In 2019, for the sake of a so-called festive atmosphere and the CCP’s reputation, the Party again concealed the outbreak. Now, the CCP faces the same dilemma. With the economy in decline, the Party leader has emphasized the need to stabilize the economy, which means attracting foreign investment and encouraging more people to do business in China. At such a critical moment, the CCP is bound to lie again, deceiving the world while the biggest victims remain the people of mainland China.
Many people have reported that, before the Lunar New Year, families were infected one after another, and many have yet to recover. Hospitals no longer conduct COVID-19 tests, and numerous people have died suddenly for unknown reasons, raising suspicions that the authorities are concealing the outbreak. While the streets are nearly empty, hospitals and crematoriums are overwhelmed. However, many people have also shared that after publicly renouncing their membership in the CCP’s Party, Youth League, and Young Pioneers, and sincerely reciting the nine-character mantra “Falun Dafa is good! Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance are good!” they have remained safe and healthy.
In fact, as early as March 2020, Master Li Hongzhi, the founder of Falun Gong, stated in his lecture Stay Rationality, “But a pandemic like the current Chinese Communist Virus (or “Wuhan Virus”) comes with a purpose behind it, and it has targets. It is here to weed out members of the Party and those who have sided with it. If anyone is in doubt about this, just take a look at which countries or people have been hit hardest by the virus: it is those who have become close with the CCP. Then what should people do? People should distance themselves from the CCP and stop siding with the Party. Behind it is the red Devil, while outwardly it looks and acts like a thug who stops at no evil. So now that the divine is starting to eradicate it, all who still stand by it shall perish. Those who doubt this can wait and see.”
