Making Phone Calls to China to Clarify the Truth

[PureInsight.org] Since the end of 2001, the Atlanta telephone team started to call China. In the beginning, only one or two practitioners made calls, but as Master taught us more of the Fa, more practitioners joined this project to clarify the facts directly and effectively. In the past two years, we have contacted a lot of people with predestined relationships. Among them, are mayors, county government officials, directors, as well as people from all walks of life. Of course, most of the people we called were policemen and others who are directly involved in the persecution of Dafa practitioners in forced labor camps, police stations, "610 Offices" and the like. We have gained a lot of experience calling China in these two years. Taking advantage of today's opportunity, we want to share our experiences with everyone.

In December 2001, Master said in the "Fa-Lecture at the Conference in Florida, U.S.A.:"

I think these three things are all I'll talk about. One is your Fa-study, one is sending forth righteous thoughts, and the other is about how clarifying the truth is extremely important.

At that time, an elderly practitioner initiated a telephone team. According to her own situation she chose the telephone as the best method to clarify the facts, because she cannot drive or speak English.

At first, she asked practitioners with access to download telephone numbers from Clearwidom.net or Fawanghuihui.org. Then she prepared necessary materials, such as "the spreading of Dafa overseas", "1400 examples" and information pertaining to the alleged "self-immolation" and familiarized herself with all the materials. She put everything she read into her own words, so that she could speak easily when making calls.

Encouraged by her, several practitioners and I also joined the telephone team. In the beginning, I, like many other practitioners, wanted to finish reading the prepared draft before hanging up. However, several times, the other side said "it's a recording", and then hung up, which did not accomplish our goals. When I calmed my heart, I recognized many of my deeply hidden attachments, such as fear, the desire to finish a task, irresponsibility and competitiveness. These attachments were especially revealed during our phone calls. At that time, I read the articles on Clearwisdom.net every day and saw how many practitioners were persecuted and how many Chinese people were blinded by the lies. I really had a wish deep inside my heart to make calls to save people, and save them quickly. I had a dream at that time. It was so clear. One day, a neighbor came to my home. After he entered my home, the outside suddenly turned into a swamp full of alligators, and the dirty water was almost as high as the window. While my guest talked to me, he stuck his head out of the window, and his whole body was stretched out. I was very worried that he might fall down and wanted to give him a hand. When I woke up, my heart still raced with fear. Master gave me such an obvious hint, telling me to save people quickly. When I analyzed the dream, I found that I really wished to save people, but I did not actively do it. I was still caught in a struggle between my attachments and my cultivated side. That dream really reflected my mentality at the time. A fellow practitioner seemed to know and understood my situation. She often asked me about the effects of my phone calls. She also told me about her own experiences and encouraged me to continue. She often gave me the numbers she had already called, briefly explained the particular situation and asked me to make a follow-up call, making me feel at ease. Moreover, she asked me for feedback within the next couple of days. I know that this was our merciful Master's thoughtful arrangement. In this way, I advanced by being pulled and pushed along by my fellow practitioners.

Several practitioners in our telephone team are not good at communicating with strangers, especially when facing many Chinese people with complicated thought processes who are deeply blinded by the lies. In the beginning, we lacked experience and did not know how to answer when we met vicious people who were angry at us. Later, we shared our experience and earnestly read the experience sharing articles on Clearwisdom.net about making calls. One practitioner said when meeting very evil persons that we may use our righteous thoughts and say "Shut up!" thus restraining the evil factors manipulating the vicious persons, because a Dafa practitioners' words carry energy. Later, when she met very evil persons who were angry at her, she just sent righteous thoughts first, then said "Shut up!" and also added "You are really pitiful." Or she directly recited the Fa-rectification formula. In this way, they really calmed down and listened to the truth. Every one experienced the mighty power of righteous thoughts.

Our team makes calls together at my home every Thursday. We often make calls from 8:00 p.m. to 1 or 2 a.m. Sometimes, we did not lower our voices, which bothered my parents-in-law. Although neither my parents-in-law nor my brother and his wife practice Falun Gong, they have been supportive of Dafa and what my husband and I do to clarify the facts. However, we neglected the feelings of our immediate family members, exposing another one of our problems. Soon after, my parents-in-law started to drop hints about the volume of our voices and about truth-clarification contents. Later, other practitioners and I earnestly inspected our omissions and our own attachments. Moreover, we interpreted this incident from the perspective of the Fa. We realized that we really had omissions. For example, we did not consider others first when doing things, and we felt our families should support us unconditionally. When meeting evil people, we raised our voices unintentionally due to our competitiveness and anxiety. We did not master the materials very accurately. Later, we found an appropriate chance to earnestly communicate with my family. We admitted our shortcomings and accepted their comments with an open mind. Finally, the two sides reached an understanding. Since then, my family has been more supportive. Whenever the telephone team makes calls, my mother-in-law takes the initiative to bring our youngest daughter to my brother's home. Through unceasing Fa-study we can handle any situation that arises when we make phone calls. We feel as though we are filled with wisdom. Depending on whom we happen to have on the line, we talk about different cases. If they are willing to listen, we just tell them more. If they are not willing to listen, we only say a few words. Finally, we never fail to mention that Falun Dafa is good and to ask them to treat Falun Gong practitioners kindly. If we get an evil person on the line, we add the sentence: "Leave yourself a way out." When we meet a person who does not understand Dafa, we tell them how Dafa teaches people to be good. In addition, we reason with them and move them with kindness by sharing our personal experiences during Dafa cultivation. It is very effective.

One practitioner on our team has taken great strides forward. She insists on making calls every day and seldom takes a break. She makes 1 or 2 calls on an light day and 10 to 20 calls on a busy day. Every day, she studies the Fa for over an hour and then she sends forth righteous thoughts before placing phone calls. She first eliminates all evil factors interfering with Dafa in the dimensional field around herself, then she eliminates all evil rotten ghosts in other spaces who interfere with her phone calls. Finally, she adds the hope that all persons with predestined relationships will be able to receive her phone calls. Her progress inspires every one of us.

We make brief notes about each call we make, taking down the time, topic of conversation and the response. If the other person really listens to us and changes his or her attitude, we consider our goal accomplished. If they persist in their previously held poor opinion about Dafa, or think that it is not good, we call back several days later, or give the number to other practitioners to phone. This way, we can save as many people as possible.

Each member of our telephone team has his or her own personality and clarifies the facts from various perspectives and by different means. We learn from each other to compensate for our weaknesses. For example, when we met a very evil person, we sent forth righteous thoughts together to eradicate the evil factors behind him. When the person calmed down, we individually clarified the facts to him. While making calls, we have definitely experienced the power of cooperation, upgrading as one body and righteous thoughts.

Usually, we compiled the most recent useful information for clarifying the facts from Clearwisdom.net and other media. We shared our understandings and memorized the necessary materials before making calls, so that we could use them while we are on the phone. Moreover, we also have several rules when practitioners are on the phone:

1. We are not the ones who hang up the phone.

If the other person is listening, we would keep telling him/her information and the truth, changing to different practitioners who clarify the facts from different angles. We have also run into many complicated situations. For example, the line may be busy or the other side keeps saying that we got the wrong number, or that the number has been changed. Many times, this created a false image. We will not hang up, but will continue to say what we intended. Finally, it may happen that there is no sound coming from the other person's phone, which means that he/she may be listening, or they may start to ask questions. Frequently, the forced labor camps employ Westerners to speak English and people who speak Cantonese to deal with us, and we also clarified the truth to them. All of this shows that the old forces utilize all means to complicate truth clarification. We hope fellow practitioners will pay more attention to these situations.

2. We pay attention to quality not quantity

While making phone calls, we often come across very evil people or 610 personnel. We still keep our merciful hearts and strive to save them. For example, when the other side hung up after cursing us, we just called him back. He kept cursing and hanging up, but we just kept calling. This was repeated more than ten times and even twenty times. As long as he picked up the phone, which meant he had a predestined relationship, we would keep talking with him until he listened to our words and changed his mind. In this way, we upgraded our xinxing and progressed. Our mentalities became more stable. We spoke neither superciliously nor obsequiously, but with reasoning and plain facts. Meanwhile, our practitioners' hearts became more benevolent and pure. We also increasingly recognize Master's benevolence in saving people. Whenever we meet wicked situations while on the phone, all participating practitioners sent righteous thoughts constantly while supporting and encouraging each other. When the other side was moved by the truth, all of us were very happy for him. We have formed the habit of paying attention to quality not quantity in making calls and paying attention to the process and the effects. Actually, doesn't Master only look at our hearts?

I will now give some examples of our calls.

Once, Clearwisdom.net reported that a certain district showed a movie slandering Dafa in front of local students for the purpose of poisoning the youngsters. A practitioner then called the person who showed the movie. Probably, someone had already called him before, so when she said she called from overseas, he began to badmouth her very fiercely and hung up. She called him again and he began to badmouth her again and hung up again. This was repeated more than ten times. He picked up the phone every time, but always badmouthed her. So, the practitioner sent righteous thoughts to eliminate the evil factors behind him, and to let his aware side hear the truth. Several minutes later, the practitioner called him again. She said very calmly "Hello, it still is me, I did not hang up; why did you? You have not heard what I have to say, but you just badmouth me."

At this time, he said "I am testing you Falun Gong practitioners to see if you really are very forgiving."

The practitioner asked him: "What do you think about us?"

He said "Not bad...please, have a drink of water."

At that time, the practitioner took the chance to clarify the truth. She talked to him for over an hour. He calmly heard her out.

Later, the practitioner made friends with him. Several days later, she called him again. He heard her voice and asked "What instruction do you have today?" She simply asked him what movies he showed recently. He said, "I did not show that movie." Later, she often called him and his family to tell them the most recent information. All of them were happy to hear it.

Another time, a Dafa practitioner's leg was beaten and broken by an evil person in a forced labor camp. A practitioner called the evil person. In the beginning, he also badmouthed the caller and hung up. The practitioner kept calling him, 6 or 7 times in all. While making the phone calls, she silently sent righteous thoughts. Following that, the evil person was no longer that vicious. Since the evil person's name was posted on Clearwisdom.net, this elderly practitioner just called his name and sternly said, "You are just [name omitted]. You are persecuting Dafa practitioners. Now both of your legs are shaking." After hearing what she said, the evil person gasped. After that, she began to clarify the truth to him. Finally, she said, "You have all been blinded. Because you did not know the truth, you did things to harm others and yourself. I am an old overseas Chinese person. I love my mother country and my compatriots. I cannot accept that my compatriots do such grossly unjust things and are not aware that it will destroy them. Please remember these three sentences: "Falun Dafa is good. Treat Falun Gong practitioners kindly. Leave yourself a way out." Then, she asked him "Do you have any questions?" He said to this practitioner very sincerely, "Please tell me what I should do." She said, "Remember all of what I told you. Especially remember Falun Dafa is good and to treat Falun Gong practitioners kindly. You will know what you should do."

Recently, in calling some ordinary people, we found more people were eager to know the truth and waited for us to save them. Just like Master said in "Teaching the Fa at the 2002 Fa Conference in Philadelphia, U.S.A."

You are Gods, and you are the future rulers of different cosmoses, so who would you count on? All the beings are counting on you! That's truly how it is.

One time, we called the Suzhou Propaganda Committee. They printed "Tiananmen self-immolation" as brochures and distributed them, which blinded all beings that did not know the truth. After the call went through, we immediately explained why we called. He said quickly, "Keep speaking, keep speaking." We said "You printed 'Tiananmen self-immolation' as brochures and intentionally made the pictures fuzzy to deceive people who do not know the truth. Actually, many people know the self-immolation is staged." He repeated, "Keep speaking, keep speaking." Then, we analyzed all dubious points about the "Tiananmen self-immolation" in detail and mentioned the lawsuit against Jiang. We said "Jiang has been met by Falun Gong practitioners wherever he went in the USA and now he is in a desperate situation. The officials overseas are all leaving themselves a way out." He was listening quietly. We also talked about some current natural and man-made disasters in China and told him about the spread of Dafa to more than 60 countries. We kept speaking and he kept listening quietly. After we finished speaking, he did not hang up. We felt that his aware side was reflecting on all this.

In addition to evil people, evil policemen and "610 offices", we also called those collaborators, media hacks, professors in universities, Communist Party cadres, residents, officers and soldiers in the army, as well as those Dafa practitioners that were disabled due to persecution. We have made friends with some of them. We treat people of various social classes equally, but we make adjustments in our manner of speaking.

Our telephone team increased from one member in the beginning to eight members now. We have walked along this uneven cultivation path. We deeply understand every inch of our progress contains Master's best care and painstaking heart. Practitioners' firm belief in the Fa and their quiet contributions have allowed our team to support and encourage each other. Several young practitioners have little kids and shoulder additional heavy workloads of truth clarification, but still silently participate in calling China to clarify the truth. Some practitioners gave up family vacations to use the time to make calls. Another older practitioner joined our team recently. With the increasingly penetrating Fa-rectification, more and more evil lives in other dimensions will be eliminated, more and more common people including many evil persons have already awakened, making this a good time to clarify the facts and save all beings. Let us pick up the phones; tens of thousands of phone calls will converge into a righteous, powerful current to shock and suffocate the evil and save more beings. Finally, we would like to encourage others by quoting Master's words in "Hurry Up and Tell Them:"

As Dafa disciples tell people the facts,
It is like sharp swords shooting out together from their mouths,
Shredding apart the rotten demon's lies.
Lose no time and save them, hurry up and tell them.
