[PureInsight.org] I have repeatedly heard some fellow Falun Gong practitioners making this type of comment about other practitioners: "If they don't want to participate in a truth-clarification work, it is obvious that they do not have a sufficient understanding of the significance of the work. Don't try to corral them in; otherwise, they might jeopardize the outcome of our group effort." At first I agreed with them. So, I would only welcome those fellow practitioners who I thought had a sufficient understanding of the truth-clarification work to join our truth-clarification activities because I wanted the activities to be successful. After some soul-searching, I decided it was a selfish notion.
Falun Gong practitioners are one body. If a finger bleeds, the whole hand bleeds. Likewise, any Falun Gong practitioner's loophole is all Falun Gong practitioners' loophole as one body. Every truth-clarification project requires our participation and our righteous thoughts as a group to be successful. (Even when we do not participate in a truth-clarification project, we should still help out indirectly with our righteous thoughts.) Being one body does not mean we should all do the same truth-clarification work or go everywhere together. It means that we are together in spirit. It means we recognize and compliment each other's contribution. It means that we can work individually on different aspects of the truth-clarification work and have different inputs to the truth-clarification, but when we put our work together, it is one cohesive effort with one cohesive goal.
It is a giant loophole for us as one body if we selfishly think we can achieve better success and thus upgrade our cultivation levels more quickly by excluding those fellow practitioners who we think do not have the sufficient understanding of the Fa when it comes to truth-clarification work. I do not think we will be able to validate the Fa successfully by excluding practitioners we do not think highly of.
Moreover, shouldn't it be a natural thing for us to do as cultivators of Truth, Compassion and Forbearance to help those fellow practitioners to upgrade their understandings of the truth-clarification work when we believe them to be falling behind? We fall short of what the Fa requires of us when we selfishly try to advance our own cultivation faster by excluding others.
The Fa-rectification will definitely succeed, with or without us. The Fa-rectification will definitely succeed, whether we do it well or not. No Falun Gong practitioner is able to manipulate the outcome of the Fa-rectification; therefore, isn't it naïve and arrogant to think we can determine the outcome of our truth-clarification work by excluding fellow practitioners who we think might jeopardize the truth-clarification work?
It is because Teacher is compassionate towards us that he keeps giving us opportunities to contribute to the Fa-rectification through our truth-clarification work so that we can "attain the righteous Enlightenment of selflessness and altruism" and ultimately enter the new universe during the process of doing truth-clarification work. (From: "Non-Omission in Buddha-Nature" of Essentials for Further Advancement.)
My point is: We should not think we cultivate better than others or some people do not cultivate as well as us because none of us can determine the outcome of the Fa-rectification no matter how well we think we have cultivated. It is more significant whether we can upgrade as one body during the truth-clarification work because we are expected to offer Teacher's salvation to as many people as possible.
Teacher said, "You aren't just doing personal cultivation—your own cultivation is saving the beings in the gigantic cosmic bodies that you represent. When you clarify the truth you are saving even more and even larger additional cosmic bodies and the beings in those cosmic bodies, because this is the responsibility Dafa and history have bestowed upon you." (From: "Touring North America to Teach the Fa")
It is when each and every Falun Gong practitioner can do the "three things" well that we can together save the maximum number of the world's people. Isn't this the very outcome that Teacher wants? Thus, we must not exclude any fellow practitioner at anytime.
Teacher said, "I'll say this again: I don't want to leave a single person behind. That's why Master's thinking is usually different from yours. Sometimes you think that certain people are iffy, certain people are unsavable, certain people are this or that… but my thinking is different from yours." (From: "Teaching the Fa at the 2004 Chicago Conference")
Teacher will not leave any of us behind and he cherishes us more than we cherish ourselves. We should not leave any of our fellow practitioners behind. We should cherish all of our fellow practitioners and help each other to enter Godhood.
