Clarifying the Truth about Falun Gong in New York City's Central Park

PureInsight | March 21, 2005

[PureInsight.org] On the weekend of February 26, 2005, more than 50 Falun Gong practitioners from New Jersey held an exhibit of tortures against Falun Gong practitioners in China in New York City's Central Park between the 5th Avenue and 79th Street despite the bone-chilling weather and gusty wind. We also took the opportunity to look at the display of a latest giant artwork titled "The Gates" in the Central Park while distributing Falun Gong's truth-clarification materials and clarifying the truth about Falun Gong to the art patrons.

Many people we met at the park have already learned the truth about Falun Gong, although they still have some unanswered questions about the persecution. The most frequently asked question was: Why does China persecute Falun Gong?

Thanks to the Epoch Times' "Nine Commentaries on the Chinese Community Party." We are now able to fully address this question from a new perspective. The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and Jiang Zemin are afraid of potentially losing their mind control over the Chinese people with Falun Gong's rising popularity, so they decided to completely eradicate Falun Gong. Meanwhile, CCP tries to hide the existence of the persecution while spreading malicious lies about Falun Gong to justify and sustain its persecution against Falun Gong. We have come to Central Park to uncover the CCP's appalling suppression because we provide the only voice for the countless Falun Gong practitioners who are suffering from persecution and torture in China. Everyone who signed the petition against the persecution is a new addition to our righteous voice.

There were so many people supporting our cause. People had to wait in line to sign the petition or get a copy of the truth-clarification material. Even with over 50 Falun Gong practitioners, we were still short of help.

The 7,503 "Gates" have come just in time. For us Falun Gong practitioners, they are not just artwork. They also carry an important and symbolic meaning. It reminds us of the last two lines in a poem that Teacher wrote a year ago on February 28, 2004.

Teacher wrote:
"If the world's people can truly awaken and bring out their righteous thoughts,
The gate to heaven that has been closed for infinity will be open forever."
(Provisional translation subject to further improvement, "The Gate to Heaven Has Opened" in Hongyin II [Unofficial translation].)
