Keep a Clear Head and Consider Things from the Standpoint of the Fa at all Times

A British Practitioner

Teacher advised us with sincere words in his article “Deter Interference,” “Disciples: You have to be sober-minded during this solemn present moment. It was I who taught the Fa to you.” It is very crucial for a Fa rectification practitioner if he/she can always keep clear-minded and view everything with the Fa. We cannot regard anyone or anything as a model. The only thing we can follow is the Fa -- the Fa that our Teacher taught us.

Many practitioners cultivating in an unlocked state did use what they saw and became enlightened to assist Fa rectification. But let’s take a look at ourselves with a clear mind. Did we intentionally or unintentionally regard them as models to follow? Some practitioners suggested that Shanshan’s two articles be put together for publication. The question here is not the articles, but ourselves. Did we view the situation from the perspective of the Fa, or just follow the articles without any analysis? Our cultivation is a path of constant progress. For everyone, no matter how much his capability is opened by Teacher, what he can see is subject to change. It is just something he has become enlightened to on a certain level. It might be something we can think about, but not something to follow, because it is not the Fa after all. On the other hand, during this serious, rapid Fa-rectification period, it is very easy for the old forces to take advantage of the deviated notions that we still have, to display their deviated arrangements in our Tianmu or dreams. If we fail to analyze it with the Fa, and blindly take it as truth, not only would this practitioner’s attachments be enlarged and thus interfere with Fa rectification, but it could also make Fa rectification more difficult since we have accepted their arrangements.

Likewise, many articles written by practitioners published on Dafa websites “are well-reasoned, their ideas are backed up, they demonstrate clear thinking, and their logic is strong. They have truly shocked and intimidated the evil, and their caliber is high.” (Teacher’s article “Lecture on the Fa at the Washington, D.C. International Conference”)
Many practitioners have benefited from them. Sometimes those articles can even help us to better understand some poorly understood principles. However, we should think about it with a clear mind and ask ourselves: did we follow them as models? Similarly, as good as these articles are, they are still the enlightenment of practitioners on certain levels, but not the Fa. In the meantime, the fact we agree with those opinions might partially be because their understandings are similar to ours. This also strengthens the tendency for us to regard them as paradigms. We might even apply the flawed example used in the article to a particular practitioner around us, and believe that he/she is exactly the kind of person described in the article, and thus start to doubt other practitioners.

A couple of days ago, an article mentioned that a practitioner had a very strong attachment and caused some interference in Fa rectification. Viewing it from another angle, it is also due to our failure to understand the situation with the Fa. Did other practitioners also play a role in pushing this? Teacher talked about the rise of evil religion in Zhuan Falun, “They reached the state of unlocking gong and became enlightened at different levels. They saw some principles, but they were far from the enlightened beings who can save people. They were at very low levels, and they discovered some principles. They realized that some things among everyday people were wrong, and they would also tell people how to do good deeds. At the beginning, they were not against other religions. But people would eventually believe in them, thinking what they said was sensible.” Here we can realize how serious Fa rectification cultivation is: If we fail to view everything with the Fa at all times, it is irresponsible to others, to ourselves, and to Dafa. Think about it, if we all treat everything using the Fa, rather than looking at the practitioner who is very devoted to Hongfa and Fa rectification work as a model, and correct him in time, then we might be able to reduce or even avoid a loss. Did we really look inside ourselves during this particular process? If we just focus on any particular issue, we can only strengthen his “authority” and he would have gone further. If we failed to point out his problem due to our attachment to saving face, or fear of doing something wrong, we again strengthen his “authority.” Behind all of this, is a selfish heart.

“Look inside” during Fa rectification has special indications. We need to stand with the Fa, and look inside based on the requirement of the Fa rectification process with respect to a practitioner. We cannot take the attitude of either talking about something within it, or individual cultivation when we look inside. “Talking about something within it” can only make it more and more complicated; while looking inside in a way of individual cultivation is restrained by the circle of “self” and does not allow one to see the truth. Only by looking through the point of Fa rectification, can we jump out of “self” and see the truth of the Fa. For example, if we positioned ourselves as a Fa rectification god to view the whole thing, every thing would be clear with a glance of an eye – just like when Tathagata is looking at Sun Wukong jumping here and there in the bowl. In this way we could clearly determine whether our own role in it is qualified as that of a Fa rectification practitioner.

Let’s always be sober-minded, and take others, ourselves, and Dafa seriously. Let’s view every thing with the Fa, and be truly responsible to Dafa, to others, to ourselves, and to all sentient beings. In every situation we meet, let’s really do as teacher said “When he calms down and evaluates everything according to Dafa, he will be able to see the nature of the matter. “ (Teacher’s article “Rationality”) Let us keep our path righteous.

Above is just my personal understanding. Any comments welcomed.
