In European countries, the conditions and comfortable environment that go with a high standard of living can easily lead to people to the “pursuit of comfort” (Master’s “Fa Rectification Period Dafa Disciples”). European practitioners should come out of their comfortable lifestyle, which is slowly weakening our will and producing laziness.
If all of us discard the pursuit of comfort, the old forces will lose the basis that has enabled them to manipulate us and accordingly influence the advancement of Fa rectification in European countries.
Master told us: “If you were an outstanding cultivator or had very little karma, you would see that the mosquitoes would never fly near you. They would only bite those around you, but never you. This is because when you don’t have black karma, mosquitoes don’t dare to enter into this type of purely positive (yang) environment. Mosquitoes are able to enter because of a negative (yin) environment that’s suitable for them. The mosquitoes take a liking to it. They like to drink your blood only if your blood meets their standards”( Lecture at the US East Coast Conference).
Likewise, the reason why the evil dares to act violently is the existence of an environmental basis on which the evil relies. Once this environmental basis is removed, the evil will melt away. The pursuit of comfort has been preventing us from getting rid of this environment on which the evil is relying to survive.
The attachment to comfort can lead to “enlightening” along an evil path. One can come up with tens of thousands of different excuses, but one's ulterior motive is not wanting to disrupt, or to have a smaller impact on, one’s easy and comfortable life. As to distributing flyers and newspapers on the streets, some may say: “This activity cannot cover a large population or a large area. It would be better to clarify the truth through the media and the government.” However, media work is demanding and quite difficult, and its effect cannot be felt immediately. So another saying comes along: “I am considering a more effective way.” It is not wrong to try to come up with an idea that does not cost much and is very effective. However, if one becomes attached to this, when he thinks there isn't a better way to do work for Dafa but still does not want to participate in work which is “time- and energy-consuming and not so effective,” he becomes less strict with himself. In such a situation, he is heading toward “enlightening” along an evil path, led by the pursuit of comfort. We must be cautious of this!
Actually, the “time- and energy-consuming and not so effective” description is only a human notion. It is not that there are not enough methods for participation in Fa rectification or that the ideas are not good. It is the constriction and hindering on the part of the old forces that have caused the difficulties in our work. However, as disciples of Fa rectification, we completely oppose everything arranged by the evil old forces. If, in our mind, we think that the hindering and disruption of the evils have reason to take place, they will take advantage of that. In fact, the “it was bound to happen” thought is a principle of the old universe, and it is a notion embedded in human minds controlled by the old forces. If we approve of it, if we accept it, then it will be able to sneak in and stay there. That is to say, the obstacles in our work are allowed by us and must have our silent approval to continue their existence. Since it has been silently approved by the disciples of the Fa-rectification period, it certainly has ample reason to stay there. For example, if a practitioner considers it an illness when he feels uncomfortable as his karma is being eliminated, then the sickness karma will come inside his body. So the root cause lies in us. We must definitely oppose all the things that are hindering the Fa rectification and remove them from our minds. Only then can we actually start to eliminate their disruptions.
As the disciples of the Fa rectification in the current period, Master has enabled us to eliminate the evils in other spaces and therefore participate in the Fa rectification in a broader sense. This is our exceptional honor, which is beyond words, and our extremely precious opportunity. When we get rid of “the pursuit of comfort” with the spirit of “the Foolish Man who removed mountains,” we are both assimilating to Dafa more deeply and fulfilling the vows that we made such a long time ago. There is nothing more magnificent than that.
