Hello everyone! I am H. I attained Dafa in May of 2001. I’ll share with you my one year of experiences in Dafa cultivation. During the past year, Master Li has been taking care of me. So this article is my report to Master Li. Thank you, Master Li!
When I first attained Dafa, I sometimes read Dafa books for four or five hours a day. I actually didn’t know what cultivation was, but I wanted to be a good person. I learned Taiji and other Qi Gong practices before in Taiwan. I thought Qi Gong should be guided by the mind and spiritual laws. Why they didn’t have it? Later, one friend with whom we used to practice another Qi Gong together told me: “I am now a practitioner of Falun Dafa.” He gave me a copy of Zhuan Falun. I read in Zhuan Falun that, with regard to “Xiu” (cultivation) and “Lian” (practice), many people just focus on practice, not cultivation. I thought, “That’s right! Qi Gong practitioners should cultivate themselves mentally!” So I went through Zhuan Falun that day and became determined to practice Falun Dafa. I strode forward according to Master Li’s teaching to be a good person. Later, through reading the Minghui web site, I learned that so many fellow practitioners are being persecuted in China. One idea appeared in my mind: I’ll help them. So I started my Fa-rectification cultivation in Dafa.
There were a total of three Dafa practitioners at Purdue University, including me. I didn’t know how to help Dafa practitioners in China. So I asked anther practitioner for some Falun Dafa Reader’s, and started distributing them to faculty and students. I was shy at the beginning, and my English was not good. Gradually, I am not shy anymore, and my English has gotten better also. It’s the power of Dafa that has changed me. I have become very happy since then.
In July of 2001, I went to the DC Dafa experience sharing conference. That’s a turning point in my cultivation. For the first time I saw Master Li. But I found Master Li coughed many times. Since I didn’t understand Dafa to the depth at that time, I thought that Master Li is the Lord of Buddhas, how could he cough? I didn’t think about it carefully, just a doubt. After I got back home, the test from the old forces began. My tianmu had already opened, but I didn’t know it. So demons at once came to tell me that I had already consummated and my actual teacher was in other dimensions, and so on. Since I had had that idea of doubt, I was afraid that it had shown my disrespect to Master Li, and I could not reach consummation. This doubt left loopholes for demons, it almost caused me to leave Dafa. I was fortunate that Master Li enlightened me through fellow practitioners.
So I came back to the Dafa cultivation. I still told the truth of Dafa to people, but I didn’t actually understand the true meaning of Fa rectification cultivation is to protect Dafa. The old forces kept on persecuting me. That time I was attached to my own consummation, afraid of being unable to attain consummation if I didn’t tell the truth of Dafa to people. So the old forces made me to tell people the truth at all times. Demons frequently talked to me beside my ears. I took it as a test arranged by Master Li, so I just endured it. My fear mentality became more and more intense. Up to May 2002, I gradually came to understand what Fa-rectification cultivation is. We are the guardians of the universe. We came to help Master Li in the Fa rectification. Personal consummation is nothing for us. An attachment to our personal consummation will block the Fa rectification process, and also give the old forces excuses for persecution. Telling the truth of Dafa is not only to save people, it’s also to eliminate the old forces within our own bodies!
In the “Teaching the Fa at the 2002 Fa Conference in Boston”, Mater Li said: “The reason is, your surface, which is still assimilating to the Fa, needs to be constantly improved, and as you constantly improve, the things that you need to cultivate away have to be arranged for.”… “The ones that have taken part in persecuting the Fa-rectification are only that one group, the old forces, and they make up twenty percent of the beings at different levels…….” My personal understanding is, on the surface of our cultivation, twenty percent belongs to the old forces. So every once in a while a similar attachment will appear again. That is because we have changed to a new layer. So it looks like attachments are hard to get rid of. So please do not be discouraged. Actually we have broken through one layer and more living beings have assimilated to Dafa. We should try our best to help Master Li, with our righteous belief in Dafa and Master Li, to accomplish the historical mission bestowed on us.
