When I practiced the exercises one morning at the end of last year, the assistant told me, "You are not stretching hard enough." But I had already tried my best. I felt that it was a hint from Master Li who was telling me that I was "not doing enough." But in which aspect was I not doing enough? After I calmed down, I thought I found the answer. I was not doing enough to clarify the truth to "the precious Chinese people." We had been doing certain things to clarify the truth to them. But we were mainly distributing flyers on the streets to visitors coming from China who wanted to accepted them, and we seemed to be in a passive position. If they did not take flyers, it seemed that we had no way to bring them the message of "Falun Dafa is good." Perhaps we should not wait anymore. An idea to make a lantern emerged from my mind. The four sides of the lantern would have the words "Falun Dafa is good" and "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" on them. Even those who do not take flyers will inevitably see and receive these words for which their true selves have been endlessly waiting. After discussing this idea with other practitioners, we custom made a lantern 4 feet high by one foot wide.
On the first night, after we displayed the lantern, three busloads of visitors from Mainland China came by. When they saw the lantern, many people exclaimed in unison, "Falun Gong in Hong Kong is really something!" And then someone said, "Hong Kong is so small, yet we see Falun Gong everywhere." Just as we were feeling a little happy about this, interference appeared. Because a security guard in a nearby mansion called the police, one policeman came over to check our I.D's. Our hearts were not disturbed. We took the initiative to speak to him first, "Some of us work during the day and come straight here after work at night without eating dinner. Because we are all good people, we are doing good things." That policeman's attitude changed quickly. His overbearing attitude was gone and a kind smile appeared on his face.
During this time, many visitors surrounded us. They were surprised that we were not a bit afraid of the police. Some practitioners explained to them, "We are all good people and police only catch bad people, so we do not feel afraid at all." A person also asked me how long I meditated everyday. I said, "One hour." He said, "Too short!" During the conversion, the two of us became very close.
The second day, a kid stood near the lantern and had a picture taken as a remembrance.
We persevered for over four weeks with our new technique. Now, besides the lantern, we also added a player to play Dafa music and songs. The effect has been very good. We may consider adding a VCD player later.
Although we only put the lantern on the street for three hours per night, we clearly felt the power of "The Buddha-light illuminates everywhere." A small lantern illuminates soft light in the human dimension, reflecting the words "Falun Dafa is good" and "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance." However, in another dimension, maybe it is really that extremely bright and sacred Buddha-light is harmonizing and saving people in the world. We also felt many human obstacles may be like very thin layers of paper. It is just waiting for us to take this extra little step.
