My Cultivation Experience

I am extremely happy that I can write and share my cultivation experience with everyone during this great Fa Rectification period. I am Axel Duval and I am 23 years old. I am a practitioner from Paris. Two years ago, I began to genuinely practice Falun Dafa.

In the last two years, I strove to eliminate all the attachments in the manner of a genuine practitioner. That’s also the most difficult for me because I did a lot of bad things when I was young and have generated a lot of karma, especially in the issues of sex. That is to say sexual desire is a huge attachment in my cultivation. This particular karma also made me suffer the most. But the pain from the mental battles that the mind and body fought with the thought karma is insignificant when compared with the greatness that Dafa offers us in our heart, and in our most microscopic levels of existence.

Slowly, through studying the Fa and in every day’s cultivation the karma is being eliminated slowly. Bit by bit, tribulations are being solved. When I assimilated with the Fa, the environment also improved. Teacher told us to examine ourselves when we face tribulations instead of blaming others. This is the manifestation of great compassion. I would love to cultivate such a compassionate heart. Treat others with a compassionate heart, help others when they need it and show the light of Dafa that Teacher taught us.

When clarifying the truth to the precious Chinese people, I feel genuinely joyful when they accept the truth. Our compassionate hearts can melt any prejudice, misunderstanding and blockades, and touch people’s heart. It’s our practitioners’ righteous thoughts that slowly eliminate the dark substance that obstructs the Fa-rectification. The same righteous thoughts are reflected in our daily activities. We have to exhibit Dafa’s purity to the world’s people and to reveal the brutality and shamefulness of the persecution against the Dafa practitioners. We are in an immense process that our Teacher called the promoting of Fa and cultivation during Fa-rectification. Every person will make decisions about their future in this process.

In any situation to promote Dafa, whether it’s in the subway, in the colleges or at the appealing sites we eliminate our own attachments as we rectify everything that’s not right from the standpoint of Dafa. Through clarifying the truth, the sentient beings are being saved. This is what I understood to be the function of Dafa disciples during the Fa-rectification period.

In my personal experience of clarifying the truth, I had a lot of attachments and emotional sentiments that prevented me from finding an effective way to clarify the truth. I was afraid that everyday people wouldn’t understand what I was doing or afraid of their negative reactions, so often times I ended up arguing with them and couldn’t physically manifest the compassion and peacefulness of the Buddha Law. When I truly understood the value of the Buddha Law, that one can’t force it upon another but I must value it inside myself and not worry about other people’s points of view and reactions, then the power and peacefulness of Fa could be manifested through me.

On January 23, after the semester’s last language class (I take Chinese lessons in a college in Paris), the whole class went to the coffee shop with the teacher and chatted. There were youngsters and old people in our class. There were Parisian like me, while some were from Germany, Czech Republic and from other parts of the world. There were Chinese from Taiwan and from Mainland China. This is a great opportunity that Dafa created to clarify the truth to them. They all heard of Falun Gong, but I felt that not everyone knew what exactly Falun Gong is. I used simple and correct terminologies, with logic and good reasoning. I explained to them the principles of Falun Gong and the persecution of Falun Gong. I didn’t expect to get anything from them but hoped that they would understand that Falun Dafa is good. I didn’t want to force anything upon them. The discussion was friendly. I answered their questions and listened to their reactions calmly. When they heard my replies they received it well. I gave them the truth materials, and both the Westerners and the Chinese were very willing to accept it and expressed their understanding. Seeing the people submerged in the current of Dafa made me felt genuinely satisfied. It’s these kinds of experience that encouraged me to participate more in the Fa-rectification, do things better, not to forget Teacher’s teachings, view the Fa as the Teacher and promote Dafa.

In conclusion, I want to thank all those that support Dafa inside their hearts whether they are practitioners or not. I want to thank those that helped people better understand the Law of the Universe. And thank those who helped better promote “Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance” in this world.

Dafa will further reveal miracles in our hearts. Let us advance in cultivation together.
