practitioner A was tormented by sickness karma badly before she died.
To help her walk away from the interference, fellow practitioners
discussed the principles of the Fa with her. After talking to her
repeatedly, she said: I know all that that you said. She had the
feeling of having no alternative. Practitioner B was being bothered by
sentimentality and being taken advantage of by the evil. Once she was
reported to the authorities for practicing Falun Gong and, even though
she was able to escape, she was fearful afterwards and it influenced
her doing the three things well. When fellow practitioners consulted
with her and tried to help her to walk away from her sentimentality.
She told them that she knew all that they were telling her.
"I know all that" touches me greatly. Isn't this "knowing" not
really assimilating to the Fa? Instead, they are limited to how many
lectures of Fa they have listened to in one day and do not really
follow the requirements of the Fa to do things. They don't follow
"Let each and every thing be measured against the Fa. Only then, with
that, is it actually cultivation." ("Solid Cultivation") and
don't look inward.
Practitioner A died several months ago. Before she died, she listened to two to three lectures of Zhuan Falun. Practitioner B had also read two lectures of Zhuan Falun
a day. I am implying that reading Fa diligently is of no consequence by
itself. Instead, we need to really enlighten to the Fa-principles and
look inward for our own issues. Looking inward to find what attachments
we haven't gotten rid of instead of observing the formality of studying
the Fa and thinking that if only we study the Fa our sicknesses will be
cured and we will not encounter any troubles.
When we study the Fa, we need to use the Fa as the standard to correct
ourselves. When we encounter any conflict, we look inward
unconditionally so we can genuinely assimilate to the Fa. Then we will
indeed find, "After passing the shady willow trees, there will be
bright flowers and another village ahead!"
