[PureInsight.org] My understanding of how to oppose the old forces is this:
First follow the Fa principles to look within and rectify our minds.
Looking within is the key to eliminating the old forces. One should
realize that the occurrence of persecution and interference reflect
that our hearts have not been rectified, that they are not yet up to
the requirements of Fa-rectification. Thus, we should rectify our
hearts: "Sending righteous thoughts, exploding rotten ghosts." (In Hong Yin ll "What's There to Fear?")
However, some practitioners use opposing the persecution to negate
cultivating their heart and looking within. That is saying, "Even if I
have loopholes, I will not allow the old forces to persecute me." They
understand opposing persecution from that standpoint. In reality,
that is resisting persecution, carrying the connotation of "fighting"
but not "disintegrating," and not using righteous thoughts, after the
human notions are eliminated, to negate the arrangements of the
old forces. The evil forces can interfere with you or persecute you
when your enlightenment is limited to where they are and your
opposition is fighting but not negating and surpassing. You should then
hurry up and elevate your xinxing
level and use righteous thoughts after which you will progress to
solving the problems. Now I understand the meaning of opposing
persecution, which is filled with compassion, and Master's teaching us
how to use righteous thoughts to resolve problems, using compassion to
make everything good. As a result, the bad elements behind the
evil doers disintegrate, the over-all persecution will stop, and the
evil doers are saved because they recognize the beauty and mighty power
of Dafa from you.
Some practitioners believe that looking inwards while being persecuted
means that one consents to it. Actually, it is not so. The purpose of
looking inwards is to cultivate oneself as fast as one can so one can
help Master to rectify the Fa, including eliminating the
persecution. Thus, cultivation is through looking inwards,
eliminating attachments and rectifying oneself according to the Fa.
When one ceases to cultivate, one consents to the arrangements of the
old forces and cannot negate the cause of the persecution. I,
therefore, believe that cultivating our hearts and eliminating our
attachments is the key to getting rid of the arrangements by the old
forces, particularly when one is being persecuted at that time.
In addition, I also realize that the old forces are the evil heads, and
our human notions provide the space for them to do evil things. When
our human notions generate internal friction, the evil forces will
exist. If we cannot let go of our human notions, we cannot rise above
the old forces' territory and, thus, the interference will continue.
Some practitioners have even said, "I don't recognize the old forces'
arrangements and I cultivate according to Master's arrangements." It
sounds very reasonable, but the point is how to behave in order to
negate the old forces' arrangements. If our xinxing
levels are not high enough, how do we negate their arrangements?
What do we use to negate? Actually, cultivation is getting out of
their arrangements and the righteous thoughts from our cultivation can
suppress the persecution. That is what I consider to be "negating".
Besides that, we need to look at cultivation from the standpoint of
Fa-rectification. We need to understand that the purpose of cultivating
our hearts is helping Master rectify the Fa and save sentient beings
instead of eliminating our suffering from the persecution. I also
realize that I am one of the particles in the Fa and I cultivate for
the Fa. I call that true cultivation. Meanwhile, I look at my
attachments which have already separated from me. I know that they are
easy to eliminate because I am already in the Fa!
During sending righteous thoughts and truth clarification, we can also
eliminate many human notions. After they are gone, our righteous
thoughts will be stronger and the truth clarification will be
smoother. While we send righteous thoughts and clarify the truth,
we must eliminate all interference because it is from the evil forces
and, also, take immediate action to eliminate our human notions, which
provide the necessary environment for the evil forces to thrive in.
Once we eliminate our human notions, our xinxing
will elevate after the roots of the evil forces have been dug out. From
studying the Fa, we know that one's gong level is as high as one's xinxing level, so elevating our xinxing level can strengthen our righteous thoughts and eliminate more evil. Elevating our xinxing
can increase our compassion and save more sentient beings from being
destroyed. That is why we need to study the Fa well and elevate our xinxing fast.
Our ultimate goal is not to negate the old forces but to help our
Master validate the Fa and save sentient beings. We, therefore, have to
eliminate all interference, destroy the old forces and rectify our
hearts. Our rectified hearts are not only able to destroy the old
forces, but also validate Dafa. I realize that if we don't cultivate
properly, we are wasting our time doing the exercises. If we don't
cultivate well, we cannot do Dafa work well. On the other hand, if we
only cultivate and do not do the Dafa work, we have not cultivated
properly either. Furthermore, I understand that the old forces'
interference is the product of the old principles and once we can get
out of the old principles, we can eliminate their arrangements and the
distance among us. To reach this stage, we must solidly cultivate
ourselves, assimilate into Dafa and save sentient beings.
