Recently, while clarifying the truth to my friends, I came to a deep realization that the only way to break through postnatally acquired notions and attachments of humans, including both ordinary people and cultivators, is through the power of the Fa.
As a Dafa practitioner, during a New Year's gathering with friends, I certainly did not forget to look for opportunities to clarify the truth and Hongfa (introduce Dafa) to my friends. I talked about many things ranging from the facts of persecution of Dafa practitioners in Mainland China to the Dafa practitioners going to Tiananmen to validate the Fa. But no matter how hard I tried, my friends kept on saying, “While it is incorrect for the Chinese government to persecute Falun Gong, we cannot see anything good at all about Falun Gong practitioners stepping forward in this way. They are just going against the wishes of the government. If you people do not step forward, doesn’t it demonstrate your breadth of mind and magnificence even more?” My wife and I tried to persuade them by talking about human rights, the lessons that the Cultural Revolution has taught us, and that putting one’s own self-interest above principles is a major character flaw of many Chinese people. We came up with various analogies, which is a good way to clarify the truth according to the past experiences of some practitioners. We tried to illustrate the reasons, legitimacy, and necessity for Dafa disciples to validate the Fa in Tiananmen. Two hours passed, and we had finished dinner. But we still did not see that the others had changed their positions at all. Both sides insisted on their own views and kept on debating. At the time, I felt there was nothing more I could do and was thinking that I should wait and talk about this some other time.
Suddenly, at that very moment, Master’s words appeared in my mind, “The Fa can reveal all attachments” (“Deter Interference”). In an instant I recalled what I had been telling them during the last two hours, and found what I said to clarify the truth was all from the human level, such as talking about human rights and the lesson of Chinese modern history. These comments were all at the level of human beings and would at best only awaken sympathy from others at the human level. Thus, it was impossible for our friends to have a more profound and deeper understandings of Dafa. If I could talk to them from the point view of the Fa, isn’t it a more effective way to break through a person’s notions so that he or she cannot only be saved in the future, but also to lay a good foundation for attaining the Fa?
Therefore, my wife and I sat down and starting directly using “Truthfulness-Benevolence-Forbearance is the fundamental great law of the cosmos” as the starting point of the conversation. We discussed the origin of life, the degeneration of beings at each dimensional level, the fundamental cause of disease and its remedy, all to the way to the fact that the cosmos has deviated from the Fa and why there needs to be a Fa-rectification right now. Unknowingly, another three hours passed by. At the beginning, the other people were arguing with us. But as time went on, they gradually began to calm down and started to ask many relevant questions. From beginning to end, we recited Master’s Fa and used Master’s original words whenever possible. For the parts of the discussion we could not recite word for word, we just talked about the general meaning or our understandings of the Fa. During the talk, I felt the magnificence of the Fa. Oftentimes, I could not help but have tears flowing. When talking about the Fa-rectification, the others suddenly exclaimed, “We finally understand why Dafa disciples go to Tiananmen. Indeed, they are so great!” At the moment, I held back my tears and just wanted to say, 'Thank you for your mercy, Master!”
From this incident, I truly realized the great power of the Fa during clarifying the truth and the importance of our Fa-study.
