Recently, I read a fellow practitioner's experience sharing article where he said we should treat all things around us with kindness. I thought what he said made a lot of sense. Then something happened that deepened my belief even further.
The day before yesterday, my wife and my nine-year-old son rode their bikes to attend Fa-study in the evening. Shortly after they left our home, my son fell down when he turned a corner. He didn't get hurt; but the key to the bike lock was lost. They spent a few minutes looking for it but they failed to find the key. They continued on to Fa-study.
Yesterday, my son, my wife and I each looked for the key, but we all failed to find it. This morning, I remembered the experience-sharing article and then told my wife to let my son go and look for the key again. Although the lock was very inexpensive, we should have our child cultivate habits of treasuring belongings without waste. It is even more important because the things we buy or use must have a predestined relationship with us. All things have life. It is possible that they were meant for us; therefore we should treat them kindly. At that time, my wife remembered to look inward as well and ponder. Sometimes we didn't care about leftover food or dishes and threw them away. These are really uncaring deeds.
We were talking while stepping out of the door. As we passed by that corner where my son had fallen off the bike, my wife saw at once that key was right there on the ground in plain sight. Nothing else was on this asphalt road. Why couldn't we see the key the few times before when we searched? We suddenly realized that it wasn't that we weren't able to see, but we were not allowed to see.
From this incident I realized that showing compassion to all sentient beings doesn't mean only showing compassion to humans, but that we also need to extend our compassion to all other beings as well. Master mentioned this in the Fa, but I didn't enlighten to it because my capability was low. All things around us have come for the Fa. We should treat them kindly and let them play their role in the Fa-rectification process.
Due to our human notions, we see that bike as just a bike, and a computer as just a computer. If we believe what Master has said, then we believe that they all have lives. We need to treasure them, take care of them, let them consciously resist the arrangement of the old forces and not be interfered with and controlled by the evil. Then, they will cooperate well with us, make us play our important roles in the Fa-rectification process, and they can also better position themselves.
If there is anything improper, my fellow practitioners, please point it out and correct it.
