1. Stepping Forward from Humanness with Pure Insight
Every member of the PureInsight team spends a lot of time reading PureInsight articles. When I first obtained the Fa, I often did not have a deep understanding of Master Li's Fa all at once. Many thoughts and notions remained at the level of everyday people. With fellow practitioners' encouragement and suggestions, I now make time every day to read the articles of the pure insights attained by Dafa practitioners from all over the world. Some of the articles expound everyday people's knowledge from different angles and aspects; others express their understandings of the Fa at different levels using everyday language and easily understandable words. Like riding on a rocket, we unconsciously make rapid breakthroughs in everyday people's notions and reach the realm of a god's thoughts.
Master Li told us in 'Lecture at the Conference in Switzerland,' "What you enlighten to yourself, which is mainly through your own cultivation, is the most solid." Therefore, we realized that when we read PureInsight articles, we shouldn't just passively accept fellow practitioners' understandings but we should compare the contents of these articles to that of the Fa, search within ourselves for shortcomings or see if there are any differences between us and our fellow practitioners. Consequently, our understandings and realization of the Fa notable improve in a short time.
When some fellow practitioners heard our experience sharing, they asked: "How can you reach realization of Fa at such a high level?" In fact, it is not because our enlightenment quality is good or our inborn quality is good. It is because PureInsight articles from fellow practitioners give us a push.
During the Fa-rectification period, besides our improvement in individual cultivation, the pure insight articles written by fellow practitioners in their various professional fields really help us break everyday people's puzzles in many different aspects and without any omission. Just as Master Li mentioned in the 'Lecture on the Fa at the Washington, D.C. International Conference,' "some of the articles you've written are masterpieces—they are well-reasoned, their ideas are backed up, they demonstrate clear thinking, and their logic is strong. They have truly shocked and intimidated the evil, and their caliber is high." Therefore, PureInsight articles enable those of us who are caught in the science maze to be completely unrestricted by everyday people's scientific theories.
2.Creating the Future during Fa-Rectification
Master Li told us in 'Lecture at the Conference in Europe,' "Science tells people to perceive materially so as to elicit people's spiritual trust and support. Science, however, is not something gods imparted to humans. Instead, it was passed down to humans by alien beings within the Three Realms in order to control humankind. Humans' belief in it has surpassed everything." "This science has brought a whole series of social problems." "Many social problems are brought about by science. It is downright dreadful."
During Dafa cultivation, all of us have come to gradually realize these sciences have brought warped phenomena which run through every aspect of our daily lives. It has caused modern everyday people to form layers upon layers of notions without their knowing it and obstruct them in obtaining the Fa.
However, in the process of Fa rectification, just as Master Li told us in 'Lecture on the Fa at the Washington, D.C. International Conference,' "So in today's world, we can't not be responsible for other sentient beings, we can't not be responsible for other sentient beings' obtaining the Fa in the future, and we can't not lay a foundation for other sentient beings to obtain the Fa in the future." Thus, we realize that eliminating everyday people's misconceptions and establishing pure insights on Fa rectification is a very important task for disciples during the Fa-rectification period.
Master Li also told us in 'Lecture on the Fa at the Washington, D.C. International Conference,' "what's presented on our PureInsight web site is the future humankind's new concepts, and it represents the new humankind's future thinking and correct views." However, the thoughts of everyday people and our practitioners have a significant difference, so in writing pure insight articles, ideas expressed should proceed in an orderly manner and be well organized. But, the subject should be centered on "pure insights" even though the articles cite stories that can be understood by everyday people, new scientific discoveries and adopt forms and logic that enable everyday people to understand. However, the purpose of setting up the PureInsight website is not to satisfy everyday people's need for new knowledge. Therefore, in order to leave our purest understandings to future universal beings, we must be clear what Fa principles we wish to expound in these articles. We must use the principles of Dafa as the central theme, include gathered information as sound evidence and, together with clear, logical analyses, we can help readers grasp our understandings of the principles of the Fa in a systematic manner.
Furthermore, sometimes we tend to quote Master Li's words in writing articles, which are universal principles. Safeguarding the universe's Dafa is also an important task for our Fa-rectification disciples. So when quoting Master Li's words, we should do it precisely and accurately. This is also having a responsible attitude towards our own articles. In the cultivation process, every experience often starts from just a little bit of understanding. Even though it can't form a complete article at this point in time, these understandings can be compiled into PureInsight articles bit by bit after working it out over a period of time. Thus, we will have a broader and more complete understanding of a problem. This deepens our realization and enables us to enlighten to even higher-level principles.
Master Li told us in "No Politics," "The cultivation of Dafa disciples surpasses what is human. They are cultivators who have grasped the truths in higher realms, and what they understand transcends the realm of everyday people" Hence setting up PureInsight is a manifestation of our wisdom gained in Fa cultivation and it is telling everyday people righteous ideas from the perspective of a god. The wisdom of gods surpasses the level of everyday people and is unrestricted by everyday people's principles. Furthermore, wisdom enables us to clarify the truth to everyday people in the most compassionate and harmonious way. Thus, we must be clear that in writing PureInsight articles, we are gods safeguarding universal Dafa and not everyday people. We should complete a piece of work that is pure from the perspective of a god.
Master Li said in 'Lecture on the Fa at the Washington, D.C. International Conference,' "along with the state, the compassion, the kindness, the purity, the righteousness, and the great forbearance displayed by Dafa disciples during the Fa-rectification period, and it's helping to shape the future society." Therefore, [in 'helping to shape the future society'] every practitioner's experiences in truth clarification and their cultivation process are good material for setting up pure insights. Also, creating new cultures in the future is our great responsibility. In other words, establishing pure insights derived from the Fa can be used not only for sciences, music, poetry, literature, fine arts; but also new sciences, arts, cultures, and a new morality.
3. Eliminate All Misconceptions while Providing What is Correct
Master told us in Lecture One of Zhuan Falun, "What today's scientific and technological community has discovered is sufficient to change our present textbooks." "Due to the influence of traditional conventions, no one today has systematically compiled such findings. Thus, human concepts always lag behind developments. Once you speak of these things, there will be people who call them superstitious and reject them—despite their already having been discovered. They are just not yet publicized widely."
The practitioners of the PureInsight reading group have deeply realized the power of articles published on the PureInsight website, so they hope to remove the knots of science that are misleading everyday people by systematically compiling articles on the PureInsight website, and thus help more predestined people obtain the Fa. In the process of compiling these articles, we found that the findings of the ancient remains under the oceans around the world can clearly and strongly support the theory of prehistoric culture. And the pyramids, sculptures, records of written languages, buildings and other types of remains are indeed works that only humankind is capable of producing.
In addition, the study of fossils, the changes of the embryo, and the modern study of molecules have all clearly revealed that the theory of evolution is fundamentally wrong. Moreover, tracking the scientific studies done before, we found out that the truth had been purposely ignored by some scientists. They did not want to further explore the truth; instead, with the excuse of 'maybe these were naturally formed,' they denied the true existence of such evidence. It is obvious that they went against the scientific spirit of pursuing 'truth' and were unwilling to fundamentally change their notions. Therefore, the results of their study were just like what Master said in 'Lunyu 'in Zhuan Falun, "crawl within the boundary delimited by their own ignorance." The pure insights put forward by the Dafa disciples can correct and break away the misconceptions of everyday people, and therefore open up the new civilization and culture for the new cycle of mankind.
In the process of compiling and writing articles for the PureInsight website, we found that our own biases and attachments often create results in the words in our writing, which are likely to stimulate the thoughts of everyday people. Often unknowingly our articles may make the readers or scientists feel that we are criticizing their ignorance. Master mentioned in 'Lecture on the Fa at the Washington, D.C. International Conference' that "An everyday person is very weak before a cultivator." So if there is any criticism or exclusion implied in our articles, that might disrupt everything of everyday people, and make them leave us because of being hurt or out of fear.
Through group experience sharing, we have all realized that the scientists who are non-practitioners are actually unfortunate. They are profoundly lost without knowing it. They do not have a correct direction to guide them in their scientific study and development. If they knew that there is a truly correct way of scientific study, they would naturally give up the old ways and techniques and take the correct path. Therefore, what we should do is not to criticize them, but guide our readers towards the correct direction. We should help the people in the world to take the Buddha law as the guidance in their thinking, as we do, and lead their lives towards the path of true happiness.
4. Striving Forward Diligently Together Amidst Conflicts
Just like the other kinds of Dafa tasks, writing articles for PureInsight has the strong power of eliminating the evil and rectifying the degenerated. So we may meet with all sorts of interference. The root cause is the attachment of the practitioner that has yet to be discarded and the karma that has not been eliminated. Therefore, it often happens that we get stuck in writing, and we fail to look at the things using the principles at higher levels. At this time, we are often limited by the worldly concepts of which we were not aware. Thus to avoid that, we must study the Fa more diligently, jump out of the shell of everyday people and truly step forward from humanness.
Master told us in 'Eliminate Your Last Attachment(s)' that "practitioners' own karma, inadequate understanding of the Fa, inability to discard attachments amidst tribulations, inability to deal with things using righteous thoughts amidst painful trials, and so on, are the main reasons behind evil's escalation of the persecution." Fa-rectification cultivation is not only one's self-cultivation, it is a form of cultivation in which all Fa rectification disciples take part in.
At the beginning, I thought that writing articles was only related to self-cultivation. Later on, in the experience sharing and discussions in the writing group, sometimes I had different opinions from others. When I stuck to my understanding of the Fa at a certain level, when I would not accept suggestions of fellow practitioners and give in to my self-willed attachments, the conflict between fellow practitioners and me would come up one by one. Because I did not find out the root cause in these conflicts, and even though sometimes I held my anger, it could only be considered the tolerance of everyday people. Such a situation lasted for a long time. I did not completely discard the attachment towards authority that resulted from the scientific education that I had received. This became a loophole for the demons to exploit.
In addition, due to the willfulness and laissez faire attitude developed at a young age among everyday people, and under such sentiments, I almost separated myself from Dafa and left the cultivation environment arranged by Master out of agitation. Fortunately, "Dafa disciples are magnificent." (From 'The Disciples' Magnificence') Most of the PureInsight team members could persist in complying with the principle of "Validate the Fa with reason, clarify the truth with wisdom, spread the Fa and offer people salvation with benevolence."(From 'Rationality') When they had conflicts with me, they could be strict with themselves and looked inward to find their problem. Finally, I calmed down, thanks to the tolerance and encouragement of fellow practitioners. After one event, a fellow practitioner told me," If you left the group, we would suffer a great loss. We would lose a good fellow practitioner who could go forward diligently with us, and also a god who could participate together in the Fa-rectification." Only at that moment did I realize that my attachment that I had clung to had almost caused a great loss to myself and to the team.
Another fellow practitioner commented on the event: "In this conflict my own attachment was revealed. When a problem occurs, I would always look at others' attachments instead of mine. When someone wanted to withdraw from the PureInsight group, I would take all his words as problematic while neglecting the part of his words that was based on the Fa. Also I failed to identify my notions that were obstructed by long-time study of scientific theories. So I couldn't deal with the serious tasks of Fa rectification with a pure mind and from the standpoint of a god." In this way, from a sharp clash we identified our respective shortcomings and our xinxing (heart/mind nature; moral character) was uplifted.
The conflicts made us become more clearly aware that the human attachments and the karma left in us were arranged by Master to enable us to continue cultivating among everyday people. They are to be kept until we reach consummation. This should not be used as an excuse of the old evil forces to arrange their 'tests.' Master mentioned in 'The Issue of Pursuit,' Lecture Two, of Zhuan Falun that, "The Buddha School believes in predestined relationship." Our group members all felt more clearly that although we are from different areas with different specialties, we should "strive forward together" to fulfill our mission of Fa rectification. Therefore when fellow practitioners or ourselves are receiving interference, we should clear it away with righteous thoughts. Only by doing this can we ensure that every member will write out his pure insights with righteous enlightenment and thoughts and no loopholes can be left for the old forces to exploit.
The above are some insights gained from experience sharing among members of the PureInsight team. We have found that in the Fa-rectification period, no matter what kind of Dafa task you undertake, how much we put forth and what we obtain is out of proportion. As long as we comply with the requirement of xinxing for a practitioner at all times and actively take part in the Fa-rectification work, Master will greatly encourage us, even though what we do is trivial or we do it staggering along. The purification of body and enhancement of cultivation level all surpass the improvement that happened in self-cultivation. From this we awakened that as a Fa-rectification Dafa disciple, we should 'assist Master to rectify the Fa.' This is most important. If we can do more for Fa rectification and devote more time and energy to clarifying the truth, then it is ourselves who will benefit in the end.
Now I would like to present a poem composed by the PureInsight reading team to all fellow Dafa practitioners:
"Having the same will, Fa-rectification disciples clear away obstruction and all demons together.
Encouragement and concern warms one's heart, conflicts are quickly resolved.
Kind thoughts nourish people's hearts like water; as truth is presented, the puzzles of everyday people are solved.
The Buddha light illuminates everywhere, let us strive forward.
Together we return with Master and have not made the trip in vain."
Last of all, we thank Master for his magnificent benevolence. We will definitely complete our cultivation journey and fulfill our wish of "Achieve Consummation and follow the teacher home."(From 'Predestined to Return to the Sacred Status Fruit Status' from Hongyin)
