[PureInsight.org] On the morning of May 24, 2004, an elderly practitioner (referred to as "the old mommy") and I left our hotel to go to Federal Plaza in downtown Chicago to take part in group practice there. The staircase leading to the subway station from our hotel was fairly long, so we decided to take the elevator instead. In the elevator, I pressed the "close" button and then the "2" button (for the second floor.) The elevator door closed and then opened. I pressed the "close" and "2" buttons again, but the elevator did the same thing as if it was refusing to move.
At this moment, the old mommy saw several Taiwanese practitioners running towards the elevator, so she told me to hold the elevator for them. The Taiwanese practitioners told us to hold the elevator a little longer because several elderly Chinese practitioners, who couldn't walk very well, were right behind them. Of course I was glad to wait for everyone before we closed the elevator door. However, there seemed to be some problem with the elevator and I was about to take the stairs instead when they came to the elevator. I was concerned about the possibility that those elderly practitioners might have hurried to the elevator in vain.
Finally, when everyone was in the elevator, I decided to give it one more try. This time the elevator door shut and flew up to the second level. I then understood that the elevator has a soul and it wanted to wait for and carry Dafa disciples.
The old mommy and I smiled at each other, feeling our hearts glow.
