[PureInsight.org] I heard the following words from a young practitioner today, “If each of us moves forward by one step, that will be a big leap for us as a whole. The same thing happens if we all take one step back.”
These words reminded me of the situation of validating the Fa in my local area. In 2003, Master’s comments on a student’s article, “Expose the Evil Happening Locally to the Local People,” were published on the Clearwisdom Website. After Fa-study and discussions, we all realized the importance of exposing evil in our local area. Every practitioner stepped forward from the attachment of fear. Many practitioners wrote articles revealing the evilness of the persecution in their local areas. These articles were not only submitted and published online, but also widely distributed within those local areas. These efforts effectively suppressed the evil and greatly improved the local environment of Fa-rectification cultivation. It might have been a small step for each individual practitioner to make, but the overall impact was a big leap forward for the whole environment. The evilness was significantly suppressed.
Prior to the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, however, the persecution became rampant again. Some practitioners were arrested, imprisoned, or sent to labor camps. Facing this situation, each practitioner had a certain level of fear. Some dared not to move forward and some even withdrew. As a result, the evil became more rampant, and it created a big loss for the local environment of validating the Fa. This is just the situation of taking a step back that the young practitioner described.
In my understanding, each individual practitioner is tightly connected to the whole body; without each individual, there would be no whole body. On the other hand, without forming one body, each individual’s function would be very limited. It is just like a machine composed of thousands of tiny small parts, or a river or a sea composed of trillions of water drops. Similarly, the manifestation of Dafa as a whole is also represented by individual particles, Dafa disciples. Each Dafa particle is a component of the whole body, and yet plays its unique role.
If practitioners in a certain region form a strong, indestructible one body, the evil elements would be unable to survive and the persecution would be significantly reduced or eliminated in that region. If all regions form one solid body, the evil would have no place to exist; that is, the persecution would be completely eliminated.
As individual practitioners, we should be clear-minded on the relationship between each individual and the whole body. In other words, we should fully recognize our function as an individual and how it relates to the whole body. That will remind us to be diligent and always try to do better and improve one step further. By fulfilling our responsibilities, we will form a stronger one body. As the overall Fa-rectification momentum pushes forward rapidly, we will not need to worry about when the evil will be completely eliminated.
