Crumbs of Cultivation: Cooperation in the Group

[PureInsight.org] A young fellow practitioner and I worked together recently to install an electric fan. I asked him to hold a part such that I could do the installation. However, he didn’t hold it properly, so we tried again. He failed to hold it again. We tried once more and still he didn’t do it right. I got frustrated and called him stupid. Then I used one hand to hold the part together with his hand and used my other hand to install it. Although it was difficult, I eventually managed to get it installed.

Recently when I studied the Fa, I came to understand the whole thing. Why didn’t I do it all by myself? That’s because doing it alone is slow and difficult; working with others is faster and easier. It didn’t make sense that we couldn’t cooperate well on installing the fan. However, when I thought about it further, I realized that it was my fault. Although installing a fan was a piece of cake for me, others might think the opposite. I should have instructed him how to help me. That way he could cooperate well with me. It was not he who was stupid, but I, and I didn’t enlighten to this when it happened.

I realized that on the path of cultivation we might have a lot of things in which we need to cooperate. Sometimes we don’t cooperate well. Everyone’s expectation is success, but when conflict occurs, if one can’t regard himself as a true Dafa practitioner, one can’t cooperate well. It requires everyone to look within, have the right frame of mind, and be considerate and careful in the manner of handling things. When one sees areas that need improvement, voluntarily fix things instead of arguing. We need to clearly understand that all our bad thoughts are the elements that prevent us from cooperating well. Thus, we must discard them.

There is an old Chinese saying: “If you are physically strong, do some voluntary labor; if you are rich, donate some money.” If each practitioner can be considerate of others, hold the thought of making things successful, not worry about personal gains and losses, and be a true Dafa disciple in the Fa rectification period, then for sure we can accomplish anything efficiently. At that time, our minds are one mind and our bodies are one body, which is the true manifestation of things. If we can clearly understand the issues and reach an agreement, we “will truly have the god-like might to split a mountain in half” [“Fa Teaching Given at the 2010 New York Fa Conference (Questions & Answers Part 1)”]. At that time the persecution will end.

Let us study the latest lecture from Master and cultivate diligently.

“Disciple: How does the estrangement between fellow practitioners develop? How to get rid of it?

Master: Human attachments knock against one another; not looking within; thinking of issues using human attachments; you don’t like him, he doesn’t like another; as time goes by the estrangement develops, and they can’t get along with each other, just like ordinary people. Use righteous thoughts to look at issues, think about what areas you yourself haven’t done well. If one could do well, the other party will notice the change and he will think what areas he hasn’t done well. This way we can avoid the estrangement. It is the same way to get rid of the estrangement. Everyone cultivates the same Fa, everyone has the same predestined relationship. Sincerely exchange opinions which you can’t put aside with others, acknowledge the shortcomings which others point out to you, then won’t the issue be solved?”

Please kindly point it out if there is something not in line with the Fa.
