Revered Master, Fellow practitioners,
I spent last midsummer together with other members of the European
Divine Marching Band. We participated in a big cultural parade in
Frankfurt. It was critical that we were there because there would be
3,000 Chinese sent there by the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) to show
off the "culture of China," as they said.
When the day of the parade came there was rain in the air. It started
to drizzle when we warmed up for the parade. Shortly before the start
we assembled and sent forth righteous thoughts - then it began to pour
down heavily. Everyone else ran to find shelter from the rain but not
the marching band. We stayed put. Now the battle between evil and good
forces in other dimensions had begun. I have never felt it as clearly
as that day in Frankfurt.
The heavy rains proved to be a very good arrangement. The Chinese, who
were sent there by the CCP, did not like the rain, so many of them
disappeared from their positions in the parade, but I do not think they
could avoid our music. After a quarter of an hour or twenty minutes,
the rain stopped and the sun began to shine. When the parade ended
after a few hours, we were all dry.
Whenever the marching band meets to play, I am always delighted when we
begin. The energy is so powerful. After a while, the feeling is
replaced by another of a more serious, deeper, difficult-to-pinpoint
nature. Subsequently, a state of calmness in the mind appears and I
just play. Yes, it is a feeling of sacredness.
In "Teaching the Fa in the City of Los Angeles (2006)", Master said:
"... When the band was playing, the energy they emitted was tremendous.
Be it the energy emitted, the sounds you made, or the music and notes
themselves, they all had the effect of validating the Fa and sending
out energy. "
I have a good drum. It sounds like a hollow jar when I have thought of
something that has nothing to do with what we are doing, namely, saving
people. When I quickly correct my thinking, which is not to think at
all, the drum will immediately sound as it should.
When playing the drums, we play non-stop throughout the parade, while
those who play the wind instruments can rest their lips and mouth
muscles between the music pieces. It is crucial for all of us to always
keep our eyes on the drum major who, among other things, keeps the pace
for us. But sometimes I throw a glance at the people that we pass.
In London's China quarters, I saw, for example, a guy whose eyes looked
almost terrified when we came playing there in the streets. Another,
who looked very surprised, stood there with his mouth wide open and
just stared. Yes, that is where "cleaning up" is required. Energy from
the band is more powerful than an explosion of a nuclear bomb, said
Master in the aforementioned lecture.
We spent New Years in Paris. We were there almost a week and it was
quite an eventful time. Naturally, we played everyday and it produced
good results. One day, we took part in the New Years parade just as
Dafa practitioners had the year before. At that time, we had only
played together a few days, but still, we went out to play in several
parades.
There is a proverb that says: he who dares wins. In this case, it could
only work with Dafa practitioners. Imagine, many of band members had
never played an instrument before, and now, after a couple of months
practice we could participate in a parade.
This New Years Day, we marched the parade route and we came to the
castle that was the final destination so quickly that we were amazed.
Last year, the same route took such a long time. That is the case. When
you cannot do your thing well, it will take longer. That was why time
crept slowly when we struggled to play. This time, it went by like a
dance.
One day, we had a discussion that degenerated. Emotions surged out of
some practitioners, and it was, of course, not good at all. One
practitioner tried to explain something but many, including me, did not
really listened to what he had to say.
We all have our attachments and old experiences, and here they stuck
up. Some time afterwards, this practitioner brought up the same issue
in a Teamspeak meeting, but now in a few words that were properly
thought-out. I heard what he said and I got a shock.
I had applied my old experience on this practitioner and therefore
could not accept what he said. It can be so wrong when the mind picks
up an old experience and links it to a new situation that has nothing
to do with the past. Imagine deceiving oneself and making misery in
relationships. Speaking of attachment, ouch!
During the heated debate in Paris, our band leader suddenly said that
we should play through all the songs in one shot before our meals. We
assembled and marched around in the great hall in pace with the drum
major's "one - two - three - four" that was faster than usual.
Until then, we had never played as well as we did at that moment. Many
had big smiles on their faces because it felt as if Master wanted to
help us to clear our minds. Later in the evening, a male practitioner
sang "Fa Zheng Qian Kun" in Chinese.
We Westerners saw how the Chinese became moved and tears were rolling
down their cheeks. Then our drum major stood up and sang it in English
and then in German for the rest of us to understand the lyrics. And not
a dry eye among us remained.
The song is about us, how we, for so many years, have wondered, have
waited, but today our hearts sing for the Falun is here with the
Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance.
Thank you Revered Master.
Thank you fellow practitioners.
