[PureInsight.org] Since moving to a different region, several recent incidents made me rethink my perspective when looking at various situations.
To avoid hurting others due my lack information or not being aware of
other practitioners' opinions, I made very few comments on various
local Dafa projects after moving to this region. Instead, I just kept
doing some other projects that I have been active in all along.
Recently, I emailed some suggestions to a local coordinator regarding
certain projects. She did not reply to my email, but later I saw the
information I provided in her email to all local practitioners. I felt
a little unhappy for not being recognized. Then I thought that since
local practitioners have already established certain ways of doing
things, they may not necessarily need my input since I am nobody
special anyway.
There were also two other Dafa projects that I had plenty of background
experience with. However, thinking that mentioning my past experiences
could be an attachment of showing-off, I just humbly asked the
coordinators if they needed any help, and they seemed disinterested.
Because similar things happened again and again, I had to ask myself,
"Where is the problem, is it in me or other practitioners?"
There appeared to be two possibilities in front of me. One was to act
as if nothing had happened. I could continue to do other things and no
longer pay attention to these issues. Another possibility was to be
more proactive. By talking with fellow practitioners and sharing with
them about my past experiences, as well as demonstrating my ability in
the process of working on the projects, fellow practitioners would
recognize my capabilities and value them.
Yesterday on my way home after group Fa-study, I suddenly realized that
neither of the two above approaches was right. Seeing that a project
has gaps but choosing to ignore them is not something a practitioner is
supposed to do. On the other hand, feeling neglected and thus trying to
validate oneself is acting out of an attachment to self.
What would a pure and righteous being forged by Dafa do?
He would not mind whether or not he is recognized by others for his
accomplishments. Instead, his focus would be on how sentient beings can
achieve the wonderfulness that they are entitled to. When someone needs
help, he would help to achieve whatever needs to be done. When
something goes wrong or some gaps come up, he would come forward to fix
it or address the problems. If without his input things would go
equally well, he would not waste time on it but instead move forward
thinking about other places that can be improved.
In other words, he does not take actions based on his own feelings in
regards to protecting himself or validating himself. Everything he does
is for bringing wonderfulness to other beings.
Doing well in Fa-study is critical. This is because only Dafa can
enlighten us to what is the best scenario a being can possibly achieve
and how to get there.
