A Phony Bill

16, I walked on the streets and saw a woman of thirty something pushing
a cart with everyday goods. I though about my little daughter who
needed some rubber bands to tie her hair and motioned to the woman to
stop.



While I was picking out the rubber bands, she took out a 100 yuan bill
and looked at it again and again. She then took out a small device to
check the bill repeatedly. I was a cashier in a bank before and I know
a bill is phony or not just by touching it. I saw that she was
uncertain whether the bill was good or not. I said, "I'll help you."
She gave me the bill and I touched it.



I told her, "This is a very well made phony bill. It looks real, but it is not."



She said, "A little while ago, a man came to buy goods. He gave me a
100 yuan bill. I looked at it and knew it was real. Later he said that
he had enough change, so I gave it back to him. Then he said that he
did not have quite enough and gave me a 100 yuan bill again. Now I
realize that the bill does not seem right, so I am checking it to be
sure."



I said, "You have been tricked. The first bill he gave you was real.
After you checked it, he gave you a phony one. It is so hard to win in
this case."



I was really sympathetic toward her. I asked her how much she earned a day.



She said, "This phony bill makes me waste five working days."



In order to lessen her loss, I said, "I'll give you 50 yuan and I can
use this phony bill to play Mahjong.  It won't be a problem."



She shook her head and told me that she was a Dafa disciple and
cultivated truthfulness, compassion, and forbearance. She could not use
a phony bill to hurt others. She took back her bill and took out a
cigarette lighter and burned it right there.



Suddenly I had tremendous admiration for this little peddler. I used to
think that they were nothing but people who like to nickel-and-dime
their customers. Here, I was dressed up like a somebody but, compared
with her, I was a nobody. So I started a conversation with her. She
told me, "Falun Gong is not like what has been said on TV or in the
newspaper. Dafa practitioners all cultivate according to the principles
of truthfulness, compassion, and forbearance. Dafa is too righteous and
too many people are practicing it. It was persecuted due to Jiang's
jealousy. Even though, it has been persecuted for eight years, it has
spread to more than 80 countries and received more than 4000
proclamations. One can practice it all over the world but not in China."



I did not understand much about Falun Gong and my limited knowledge
came from the propaganda on TV and in newspapers plus the posters with
"Falun Dafa is good" and "Falun Dafa is the righteous Fa".



I said, "The people in city hall said that you guys were
anti-revolutionaries and I almost believed them." She said, "We only
want to tell people that we have been persecuted and we have been
slandered. We cultivators are not interested in politics nor would we
want political power. More than 3000 practitioners have been tortured
to death and more than 100,000 are in the forced labor camps, prisons,
brainwashing centers or mental hospitals. The most shocking thing is
that the Chinese regime has harvested organs from Falun Gong
practitioners alive and profited from such brutality. This inhumane
crime has been disclosed by the ex-wife of a doctor who participated in
obtaining organs from practitioners personally. In addition, a Canadian
Investigation team has confirmed that the accusation is true and called
it the most horrific crime on the Planet Earth."



I was so shocked that I could not speak for a while. I know that the xx
Party has killed countless Chinese people, but I could not imagine that
it is capable of doing something so hideous under the disguise of
harmonious society. She told me that Heaven will eliminate the xx party
and there is a rock in Guizhao with naturally carved words: The xx
party will collapse.  



With her persuasion, I quit the party. It does not matter when the
Chinese Communist Party collapses. Being a member of a party that is so
brutal and evil is an insult for anyone who still has an ounce of
conscience.
