I am 60 years old this year. I started practicing Falun Gong in August 1997.
Before I started the practice, I suffered from serious rheumatic heart disease. I had been to many famous hospitals to seek treatment. However, whenever doctors saw my condition, they would say, "Your sickness is incurable. It is one of the four diseases that are the most difficult to treat in China. There is no other method, except to go home and rest." I knew that what they meant by "go home and rest" is that I should just go home and wait to die.
In order to alleviate the illness, I had to use fast-acting medicine to maintain the status quo. My heart frequently beat in an irregular rhythm, and sometimes would stop beating for a beat or two. I often went to the hospital to get first aid injections. My condition seemed worse than death!
Not long after I started practicing Falun Gong, my uneven heart rhythm went away completely.
From that time on, I stopped suffering, for the first time in more than 30 years, from severe illnesses once for all. Our merciful great Master has given me a second life!!! I have benefited so much from the practice of Falun Gong that I will never be able to pay the debt that I owe.
At that time, I was running a small business in another town where I was the only Falun Gong practitioner. Therefore, I introduced Falun Gong to relatives and friends. I presented each one of them with a copy of Zhuan Falun as a gift, and volunteered to teach everybody the exercises. Seven people learned the exercises with me then. Some lived as far as three miles away from where I lived. Every morning, at 4:30, they would leave home and go to the practice site at 5:00 am to participate in group study and practice. In a short time, great positive changes took place in all of our bodies and minds.
However, since July 20th, 1999, under the leadership of Jiang's gang, the vicious forces started to persecute Falun Gong. From then on, TV programs began to attack Falun Gong. Those who used to practice with me were too afraid to practice any more. After watching the TV shows that slandered Falun Gong, some officials were also scared and urged me to give up practicing. They thought that I should not act against the government's order. I firmly said, "The more you tried to stop me from practicing, the more persistent I will be."
Meanwhile, I described to them the benefit of practicing Falun Gong. Through studying Zhuan Falun, and practicing the exercises, I gained a healthy body, mastered self-cultivation, and my moral standard has risen. Our Master asks us to study Zhuan Falun, and to conduct ourselves according to 'Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance.' He asks us to be noble people who are able 'to attain the righteous enlightenment of selflessness and altruism" (Essentials for Further Advancement "Non-Omission in Buddha-Nature '). What is wrong with this?
So I told those questioning me,"You all know the illnesses I had before were very serious. Look at me now. Through studying the Fa and practicing the exercises, all my illnesses have disappeared. Isn't this the hard proof? You should not believe what you see on the television. They have been lying. They are deceiving people!"
At that time the television station devoted all its energy to flooding the airwaves with programs against Falun Gong. I stopped watching TV and did not keep up with what was going on in the outside world. All I did was to persist in practicing the exercises and studying Fa. No matter how busy I was, I still persisted in practicing the exerciese and studying Fa. Most of the time, I would get up at around 2 or 3 in the morning to practice, and then go to purchase things for my business . In the evening after the store was closed for the day, which usually was after ten o'clock, I would still study one lecture of Zhuan Falun, only then would I rest. This pattern was never interrupted. Although I slept very little every day, I still felt very energetic.
When I finally went back to my hometown, my family explained the current situation to me. Dafa practitioners must help our Master to rectify Fa- "Clarify the truth thoroughly" and "save all beings.' ("Dafa Is Indestructible')
So I closed my business and wholeheartedly started to participate in Fa rectification. Sometimes my wife and I would visit people to clarify the truth to them face to face. The results are very good. Sometimes we go out to distribute Dafa materials and hang Dafa banners.
One time we went out to distribute Dafa materials in one apartment building. My heart suddenly started to beat very quickly. This went on for about one minute . I thought it was eliminating tribulation and karma, therefore, did not pay much attention to it.. On the evening of October 11, my wife and I again went out to distribulate Dafa materials and hang Dafa banners. When we were half way through, my heart suddenly started beating extremely quickly. I could not even breathe. I was soaked in perspiration, and before long, my clothes were all soaked.
At that time, I silently recited in my mind Master's Fa rectifying verse and felt a little better. Seeing my apperance, my wife said, 'Let's go back." After going about 300 meters towards our home, I suddenly realized, "This is not karma eliminating, but evil interference. Even during all the years that I was seriously ill, my heart never jumped so quickly." I told my wife, "We should not go home. This is the evil beings' interference. They are trying to disrupt Fa rectification. If we go back, the evils will be happy, because they will have achieved their goal." "A Dafa disciple completely opposes everything arranged by the evil old forces." ('Dafa Is Indestructible'). We immediately turned back, and put out all the materials we had and did not leave the evil forces any chance to do damage.
As soon as I turned around to continue sending out Dafa materials, I started coughing. The cough was so severe that I felt as if all the vital organs of my body were being pulled out. At that time, I recited Master's Fa rectification verse and the poems from Hong Yin, 'Non-exsitence' and 'Mighty Virtue '. I felt well in less than one minute. In this way, my wife and I did not go home until we sent out all the materials.
When we went to send out Dafa materials the next day, the first day's symptoms appeared again. When it happened, I sat down and sent forth the righteous thoughts. In one minute or so, I was well, and we again successfully set out all the materials.
On the third day, the similar symptoms appeared again, but were weaker compared with the first two……
Having been through this event, I deeply became aware of the fact that as they are getting closer and closer to being completed eliminated, the evil forces have become more and more savage. Their purpose is to make us feel too scared to continue to rectify Fa. This is the evils' hope. This is but one example of the evil arrangement by 'the evil old forces' to destroy Fa rectification.We must lay aside all our attachments, send forth righteous thoughts time and time again to eradicate the evil arrangement by the old forces, and to thoroughly eradicate evil. We must follow Master's advancement of Fa rectification and walk on the right path, following closely, the road of cultivation. The day when all the evils are cleaned out, is the moment of Fa's rectification of the cosmos.
These are my personal thoughts. Please mercifully point out the inappropriate parts.
