[PureInsight.org] The weather on Thursday, December 30, 2004 in Manhattan was very warm. It was as if the spring has arrived. Many people on the streets did not even wear any coat. In the Rockefeller Center's neighborhood where Washington, D.C., Falun Gong practitioners held their torture exhibit, I saw lots of people in their holiday outfits walking on the streets. Intersections, movie theaters and shops were packed with people. It was as if everyone in Manhattan has come out to the streets.
Some people from Cuba were very angry when they learned that Jiang Zemin, the Chinese dictator, has been torturing and killing the Chinese people who are trying to become better people by governing themselves according to the cultivation principles of Falun Gong. A man from Cuba insisted on learning the Falun Gong exercises on the spot. He said what the cruel Chinese Communist Party is trying to suppress must be truly good. Many people from Cuba that stopped at the torture exhibit said, "We know very well what it is like to live in a country run by a dictator, who suppresses good people in order to secure the interest of a few administrative people."
Many Caucasians that stopped by the torture exhibit commented, "The Communist Party! It's all about blood and violence." When it comes to Communism, people immediately think of blood and violence.
A Caucasian high-school student told us, "Our school has already taught us about the truth of Falun Gong. I think Falun Gong is very good."
I also saw a group of Caucasian kids stopping at the torture exhibit, asking to get truth-clarification material.
Many Hispanic people stopped by at the torture exhibit and spent a long time listening to Falun Gong practitioners explaining important facts of the persecution. They agreed with Falun Gong's cultivation principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance, and were very sympathetic towards the plight of Falun Gong practitioners in China.
An elderly Falun Gong practitioner said, "I have decided a long time ago that I won't even think about leaving Manhattan when the truth-clarification project in Manhattan concludes. I will leave Manhattan only when Teacher says it concludes."
Another elderly Falun Gong practitioner was planning on leaving Manhattan for home in the first week of January, but she decided to stay in Manhattan after listening to Teacher's Fa lecture on the Christmas day. She said, "I won't think about leaving Manhattan again. I will leave Manhattan when Teacher tells us our work at Manhattan has finished."
When sharing her thoughts on the Manhattan truth-clarification project and her future plan, an elderly Falun Gong practitioner in her 60's from Israel said, "I will listen to Teacher's arrangement. I will leave Manhattan if Teacher tells us that the mainstream society in Manhattan has learned the truth about Falun Gong."
A Falun Gong practitioner named Hua Hua went to a subway station and found a good spot where she could clarify the truth to people coming from different directions. A man in his 50's told her that he had been trying to find where he could learn the Falun Gong exercises. Hua Hua spent a long time entertaining his questions. He left happily with all of his questions answered. Hua Hua said, "This is the largest foot traffic I have seen in Manhattan. I have never distributed the truth-clarification material so quickly. I shall return tomorrow."
For the past few days many Falun Gong practitioners around me were removing the same attachment – blaming each other when something unexpected takes place. They have learned to stop blaming each other and instead work together to get it resolved right away. When a numbers of things needed to be completed as soon as possible, they were impervious to the time conflicts and focused on harmonizing the Fa and completing what the Fa-rectification requires. They have also handled a lot of demonic interference and turned many bad things that have happened into good opportunities to clarify the truth about Falun Gong. They are solidly doing the Three Things (studying the Fa, sending forth righteous thoughts and clarifying the truth about Falun Gong) that Teacher requires of us to offer the world's people Teacher's salvation.
Starting January 2 and 3, many younger practitioners who have been participating in truth clarification activities in Manhattan are leaving because they are still students and the spring semester is about to start soon. We are in dire need of Falun Gong practitioners with a good command of English.
