Reflecting on "An Inspiration from a Dream"

A Falun Dafa Practitioner

PureInsight | June 7, 2004

[PureInsight.org] The article titled "An Inspiration from a Dream," published on PureInsight web page on April 5, 2004, reminded me of a dream I once had that I still remember vividly to this day.

In my dream, a group of Falun Dafa students, including me, sat with Teacher under a giant tree that almost reached the sky. Because more students kept joining us, someone suggested that we go sit under a group of trees that had more space around them. I took the lead and started to walk toward those trees. After taking only a few steps, I realized that I was wading in thick mud and could not go any further. While hesitating and wondering whether I should proceed or not, Teacher got up and walked toward the trees, taking large steps. As Teacher took each step, the ground before him turned into a paved and clean path that measured more than one meter wide.

Just as the author of "An Inspiration from a Dream" said, "I feel that when I encounter roadblocks on my road of cultivation that seem impossible to overcome, it is often my notions that are the real obstacles. These notions restrain me from using my full potential to overcome the obstacles in my cultivation." My own dream has often inspired me to contemplate the question: What does it mean to have righteous thoughts as a cultivator? The fellow practitioner that wrote "An Inspiration from a Dream" "didn't hesitate or step on the brake but instead stepped hard on the gas and passed the ramp." I, on the other hand, hesitated to proceed when my feet were trapped in thick mud. I began to doubt my ability to reach the destination and lacked the righteous thought to remind myself that I am a Dafa cultivator.

Teacher said:

Actually, every Dafa disciple has abilities. It's just that the abilities do not manifest in the surface dimension, so they think that they don't have supernormal abilities. But regardless of whether they can manifest in the surface dimension or not, when a person's True Thoughts come forth they are very powerful.
