[PureInsight.org] Master taught us, "Validate the Fa with rationality, clarify the truth with wisdom, spread the Fa and save people with mercy..." (From "Rationality") In the process of running the radio station, we have encountered new experiences regarding this time and time again. Master further states, "Everything through the ages has happened for the Fa..." (From "Just a Play") Running a media program is a concrete thing we can do in human being's society and is a part of Fa-rectification, so it can only have life in the soil of Fa-rectification.
At the beginning, we were hesitant about whether we should or could run a radio station. After studying the Fa and sharing our thoughts, we came to understand that the radio, television, and newspaper are three forms of media that mutually make up for any one of the other's deficiencies. Facing the different people, they are playing their different roles. The radio station, as an independent media form, plays an irreplaceable role in clarifying truth to Chinese people. We discovered that the broadcasting station has its general and the fixed audience group, and many people like listening to the radio while driving or working. Older people, housewives and children are faithful audiences too. If our program can attract the audience and touch their hearts, then we can clarify the truth to them unconsciously and save them. Moreover the broadcasted program can break through the evil's block from another way, by passing the truth to mainland China.
After the feasibility issue was settled, next we focused on what our appearance should be as a station for "everyday people's media." Fellow practitioners working at the radio station also had many different views.
Through sharing, we understood from the Fa that the goal of running this radio station is to clarifying the truth. In what way we clarify the truth itself certainly is not the basic question, the basic question lies in which stand we take? When we looked from the point of the Fa, as Dafa disciples, we would not base this decision on our own feeling. We would give up the thoughts about how we want to do it, and consider the people that need to be saved. We would think based on which way everyday people would accept it.
Dafa has opened up our wisdom. Different approaches and different focuses save different people. We already had a Dafa radio program which directly clarifies the truth. These programs on one hand frightened the evil and on the other hand they saved people who are willing to listen to our programs. But, we also knew that this rumor fooled people, and therefore many people are unable to accept this direct approach of telling the truth. As for these people, we cannot easily give up by saying, "They do not have such good luck or they do not deserve knowing the truth." In this situation, the broadcasting station comes up with an "everyday people's appearance" while manifesting Dafa disciples' mercy. No matter how people are fooled and at what level they accept Dafa, we provided them opportunities to gradually know and approach Dafa. Without being placed in a position of resistance, they are able to understand the truth and be saved. This manifests Dafa disciple's wisdom and mercy.
So, we established the global broadcasting station. After only a few months, our radio station began broadcasting around the whole world.
Through studying Fa, we also realize that people not knowing the true situation is the foundation by which the evil lives on. When all living beings, especially people in Mainland China widely know the truth, then it is the evil's time of elimination. After we realized this, we also considered how we could breakthrough the evil block to the true information, especially when other forms of media are not able to widely break through the block to Mainland China due to their limitations. We paid more attention to this so we could fully take advantage of this situation, while simultaneously broadcasting to overseas Chinese.
At present we have received letters from audiences from Mainland China. This tells us our voice of broadcasting has spread to Mainland China. In the meantime, we not only broadcast through the net, but also we have set up our local broadcasting stations all over the world as long as there are Chinese people there. Therefore, our voice of truth clarification spreads to all the Chinese hearts that still can be saved. At present, North America, Australia, Europe, and Southeast Asia already have their local broadcasting stations.
In the process of broadcasting, we utilize broadcast's flexibility and effectiveness to successful break through local restriction, and manifest once again as Dafa disciples' one body all over the world. We only use the telephone to obtain first-hand up-to-the moment material if great events are happening in another country. For example, the millions who paraded against Hong Kong article 23 on July 1st was a global sensational event. At that moment, Hong Kong local pressman reported at the very beginning of the parade through the telephone, so our other local Dafa disciples could spread this news all over the world much faster than other local media.
In corporation with voice chat group and making phone-call group, our broadcasting station plays its important role. The broadcasting station recorded Dafa songs captioned with truth clarification to CD so we can make truth clarification on large scale and also reduce pressure of voice chat group and telephone group. In the meantime, our fellow practitioners are encouraged to make phone calls in order to clarify the truth to our treasured Chinese people.
In close corporation with the rescuing group, our broadcasting group voiced more activities about rescuing the persecuted relatives in Mainland China to large numbers of people. The activity of the bike journey from Toronto to Ottawa was a very good example. Because our journalist reported all of the activities, they had to be there for the whole bike journey. This process itself was ascending as one body with the rescuing group. After the four episode program was broadcast, we got feedback from the listeners. One in the audience said in his letter, "I feel this program is a very touching series. Especially, I felt moved when I listened to what the girl says in the episode three. These Falun Gong practitioners are remarkable, remarkable. If you interview them next time, please send my best regards to them! Also, please help me to ask them how we can help them?"
In the process of doing media work, we also realized that we must put Dafa in the first priority and then put our Fa-rectification Dafa disciples duties in the second place. Thus, we did it well. In every Fa-rectification activity, as a Dafa disciple, we want to wear our Dafa yellow T-shirt, and walk in the parades to manifest our greatness in front of everyday people. However, as media we can't. When the evil head went to Texas, every Dafa disciple wanted to send righteous thoughts in close proximity to the evil head. Nevertheless, Dafa live broadcasting could not be stopped. In the last day, we decided to broadcast an old program so our fellow practitioners doing broadcasting work from far away could also go to send righteous thoughts in close distance to the evil head. Later we realize that the Chinese consulate broadcasting time was just two hours before our Dafa broadcasting program. The field of Dafa disciple's righteous thoughts suffocates evil but if we left, evil would spread its propaganda to harm people. Finally, fellow practitioners doing broadcasting work still stayed in the broadcasting room.
There were too many things like that. At the beginning, it felt painful and we struggled from the pain. We were wondering if what we did was Fa-rectification things. In our opinions, Mainland Chinese practitioners step forward when going to Tiananmen Square, and also practitioners overseas clarify the truth to Chinese in China and to the Chinese Consulate. However, we broadcast programs in front of microphone all day and night. Moreover, we spent a lot of time on studying media rules, operation, and media making. We also spend so much time on making everyday people's programs. As Dafa disciples, we should not care about everyday people's matter, and we don't want to care about it. However, in order to broadcast well, we have to spend time on understanding various things taking place in everyday people's society. In some media activities, we spend time and energy on our garment and facial make-up. As Dafa disciples, we completely don't want to spend time on such things. Nevertheless, in order to maintain our profile of Dafa broadcasting program, we have to pay attention to our appearance. Gradually, we take those things lightly and no longer emphasis what we want to do.
Since Fa-rectification needs us to do broadcasting work, we should do it. We should not select Dafa work according to our own hobbies or interests. Through continuing to study Fa, we gradually get rid of attachments, so we can set up mighty virtue for ourselves. On the other hand, we put Dafa work in the first priority.
Master told us, "Because you're all living in this society's environment, you all need to step out from this period of time. In other words, this is how people's notions are now, people are all in the big dye vat, and those of you who have these special skills are bound to have been influenced in this regard more than others. Then during your process of creating artworks and returning to the upright path, aren't you cleansing yourselves? And aren't you re-elevating yourselves artistically? Yes, you are fundamentally changing yourselves, and changing yourselves in terms of your concepts. Aren't you cultivating yourself?" (From "Teaching the Fa at the Discussion on Creating Fine Art")
In the progress of media work, we realize that a lot of warped thoughts are already rooted in Chinese people's hearts. Chinese media is not just media, but a tool of evil propaganda. We truly make our news based on real media criterion. This also cleans out the negative influences that the Chinese Communist Party has made for several decades.
Before 1999, I remember a fellow Mainland Chinese practitioner saying, "Whatever hardship you encounter, only firmly believe in Master, Dafa, and that we can cultivate until we reach consummation and that we don't have tribulations that could not be overcome." With Fa-rectification today, we can use this fellow practitioner's words, "As long as we firmly believe in Master, Dafa, and that we must become a qualified Fa-rectification Dafa disciple, and we don't have interruptions that cannot be overcome or we don't have things that we cannot do."
Finally, let's read Master's poem, "Assisting the Fa," to mutually encourage walking steadily on the way of Fa-rectification cultivation.
"Making a wish to save sentient beings,
Assisting Teacher in his journey in this world;
Aiding me to turn the Fa wheel,
The Fa succeeds and free in heaven and earth."
