[PureInsight.org] On October 16, the 2015 Falun Dafa sharing conference took place in Los Angeles. Over 4,500 Falun Gong practitioners from over 36 countries across the world gathered at the conference. Several practitioners shared their cultivation stories expressing gratitude towards Master and told the audience how they persisted in their cultivation overcoming various difficulties.
Around 10.00am during the conference, Master arrived. Everyone stood up and applauded loudly. Master then spoke to the audience for over two hours mentioning to the practitioners that they should cultivate without any “leakage.” Master hoped that practitioners would become even more determined in their cultivation.
Falun Gong practitioners brought greetings to Master from practitioners all across the world. When Master completed his speech followed by a question and answer session, all the practitioners stood up again and applauded loudly.
More than ten fellow practitioners shared their cultivation stories. They were of different ages, backgrounds and professions. All of them had worked hard to clarify the truth about Falun Gong to the public. They found areas for improvement while doing truth clarification by improving their Xinxing and striving to live up to the requirements of “Zhen Shan Ren” at various levels.
Truth Clarification is a Falun Gong Practitioner’s Mission and Responsibility
Ever since 1997 when Zhang Hong started practicing Falun Gong, she had been clarifying the truth about Falun Gong to the public as well as helping Chinese people quit CCP membership. Ms. Zhang worked together with other practitioners to set up a truth clarification booth at Stanford University, one of the places where Chinese tourists liked to visit. Ms. Zhang talked to Chinese tourists and exchange students about the beauty of Falun Gong, and she exposed the CCP’s evil nature and how brutal the CCP’s persecution against Falun Gong was. She liked to use the “Tiananmen Self Immolation” incident as an example to tell people not to be fooled by the evil CCP.
Ms. Zhang shared how she finally overcame her own “fighting mentality”. The day Ms. Zhang came to realize her attachment, she was able to help over 39 Chinese people quit CCP and other affiliated memberships.
Ms. Zhang also said that in the process of truth clarification, she started to notice many problems with herself. She had been heavily influenced by CCP culture. She liked to fight with people, was eager to show off, became conceited and easily developed complacency, etc. Ms. Zhang made an effort to eliminate all these attachments in her personal cultivation. Now, together with other practitioners, Ms. Zhang is often able to let a majority of the people she talks to understand the truth about Falun Gong in just two or three minutes. She could also help such people quit the CCP quickly.
Cultivate Oneself
Swedish Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zouponidis shared his cultivation story at the conference. As a factory owner, Mr. Zouponidis used to be very bossy, but he did not realize this tendency. When working together with other practitioners, Mr. Zouponidis was soon made aware of this habit that he eventually eliminated through cultivation.
Mr. Zouponidis realized that complacency was also a manifestation of selfishness. “Complacency is developed when I get attached too much to myself and am bent on doing things my way. This attachment is also accompanied by fear; one fears that one is not excellent enough, one fears that one might fail and thus lose face,” Mr. Zouponidis said.
Through personal cultivation, Mr. Zouponidis kept looking inwards every day, and felt he was improving his cultivation level as a result. He started to notice that as soon as he submerged himself in a cultivation environment, his cultivation level was elevated. Gradually, he started to pay more attention to the positive aspects of people around him. Mr. Zouponidis said, “I had never realized that life can be so beautiful! Look, how many Chinese people are still unaware of the beauty of Falun Dafa?”
Santa Monica beach in Los Angeles is a beautiful location where many tourists liked to visit. Falun Gong practitioners have also set up a truth clarification booth at the beach. Every weekend, Falun Gong practitioners would go to the beach and tell people the truth about Falun Gong.
Xu Anne was one of the practitioners who went to the beach to help clarify the truth. At the sharing conference, Ms. Xu told a story about what happened one day at the beach. She was talking about the CCP’s live organ harvesting crimes through a loud speaker when she saw a group of elementary school Chinese students walking towards her. She immediately started to speak in Chinese to attract the students. As soon as they heard someone speaking Chinese, the students rushed to Ms. Xu’s side and stood in a straight line to listen. Ms. Xu then talked about the stone in Guizhou, which showed Chinese characters that indicated the demise of the CCP. Obviously, it was the first time those Chinese kids had heard such a story. They all listened to Ms. Xu attentively. Ms. Xu said, “Look, there are still too many Chinese people who are unaware of the truth.” In the end, Ms. Xu asked the kids to tell their parents to withdraw their CCP memberships.
Call Chinese Lawyers to Clarify the Falun Gong Truth
Liao Yanmei from Taiwan shared her cultivation experience at the conference about how she called many Chinese lawyers and their relatives to help them quit the CCP.
From September 2014 to October 2015, Ms. Liao worked together with other Falun Gong practitioners to call people in Mainland China. Ms. Liao specifically called lawyers in China to clarify the truth about Falun Gong. Altogether, Ms. Liao helped over 5000 Chinese lawyers quit the CCP. Over 3000 of the Chinese lawyers Ms. Liao called expressed their willingness to help Falun Gong practitioners in lawsuits against the current Chinese CCP regime.
In July 2015, many human rights lawyers in China were detained. Ms. Liao and other Falun Gong practitioners used this incident to let other Chinese lawyers know that the world was observing how China would deal with those detained lawyers. Many lawyers were encouraged upon hearing this news. At the same time, Ms. Liao also called public security bureaus, as well as the “610” offices, to ask for immediate release of the detained lawyers. She told Chinese officials about the current campaign to sue Jiang Zemin. More and more Chinese lawyers became encouraged and stepped forward to voice their objections against the persecution of Falun Gong in China.
“I Enjoy Helping Promote the Shen Yun Show”
Cai Yahui lives in Los Angeles and began practicing Falun Gong towards the end of 2011. Ms. Cai shared her cultivation story at the conference.
Ms. Cai said, “This is my third year helping promote Shen Yun. I have learned that as long as I can get rid of my attachment to comfort, I feel that helping promote Shen Yun is very engaging and glorious.”
When Ms. Cai introduced Shen Yun to people, she would talk about how people nowadays were always under pressure. As a result, many people could not sleep well, became depressed or fell ill. Many violent tragedies were caused by people who had mental problems. Human beings need to purify their bodies and minds in order to stay healthy. The Shen Yun performing arts show would not only give people visual and audio entertainment, but also let people clear their minds. The audience at the conference applauded loudly when they heard these words about Shen Yun from Ms. Cai.
There were many other speakers at the conference. Some of them had just started practicing Falun Gong. While sharing their own different cultivation stories, every one of the speakers expressed their gratitude towards Master and said how happy they were to see Master in person at the conference.
