[PureInsight.org] Currently there are over 193,000 Falun Gong practitioners and their family members around the world who have written letters about suing Jiang to China’s highest courts. However, some people have been harassed or detained by police after issuing these requests. Many United States congresspersons and human rights institutions have emphasized that if the government continues to harass the practitioners, then the United States government should publicly intervene and offer them asylum.
From May this year to October 29, the Falun Dafa Minghui website has received copies of criminal complaints from 193,000 Falun Gong practitioners and their family members that were sent to China’s highest supreme procuratorate.
According to incomplete statistics from the Minghui website in September, 1,000 people experienced various forms of harassment or persecution by the police.
Senior congressman Rohrabacher expressed his support of Falun Gong practitioners prosecuting the culprit of the persecution, and if the Chinese regime retaliates because of this, then the United States should stand in strong solidarity with the Falun Gong practitioners.
Rohrabacher said, “We must hold them responsible for this. Those who participated in selling Falun Gong practitioners’ organs and those people who killed Falun Gong must all be held responsible. If they continue to persecute and retaliate against their own citizens, the United States should publicly speak out loudly [in condemnation]. I will also personally help those who suffer.”
Over 190,000 Falun Gong practitioners are the plaintiffs. Some of them have had relatives persecuted to death, while others have suffered injuries or disabilities from torture first-hand. With their own individual experiences, the practitioners have alleged Jiang Zemin of persecuting Falun Gong, violating international law, violating China’s current constitution, violating criminal law and nearly 30 other charges. These constitute crimes against humanity, crimes of torture, infringement of citizens’ right to freedom of belief and many other crimes.
The United States’ “Freedom Commission on International Religious Freedom” believes that “suing Jiang” should not be thwarted. If China is to become a great country, then it cannot trample its citizens’ rights.
Dr. Katrina Swett, a member of the United States’ “Freedom Commission on International Religious Freedom” said, “I believe that the Western world needs to publicly and forcefully voice themselves on behalf of the entire Falun Gong group as well as prisoners of conscience. One of the next matters I will promote is collecting a list of imprisoned people. I hope that members of the Tom Lantos Human Rights Commission and Amnesty International can join hands under their plans of ‘defending freedom’.”
Although the propaganda machine continues to operate in China, the number of people prosecuting Jiang Zemin rises each day. At the same time, there are over 500,000 people around the world reporting Jiang Zemin’s criminal offense of persecuting Falun Gong and calling for an end as soon as possible to this sustained humanitarian disaster that has continued for 16 years.
In August this year, the overseas “World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong” has brought up criminal charges for the first time against hundreds of people trying to obstruct the suing of Jiang Zemin. Not only has the indictment been sent to the Supreme Court and the Supreme People's Procuratorate, it has also been copied to the highest officials of Beijing.
