Some Understandings on Master’s Newest Lecture

PureInsight | January 7, 2015

[PureInsight.org] After Master’s new lecture “Fa Teaching Given at the 2014 San Francisco Fa Conference” was published recently, I went ahead and read the lecture twice in a row. I developed some understandings of my own. I realized that Master was not just giving the lecture to those who were present at the Fa conference; Master was also lecturing to all the Falun Dafa practitioners living in mainland China. I came to realize the seriousness of changing our way of thinking and eliminating those influences that had been brought to us through the evil Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) education system. We must move forward in order to catch up with the pace of Master’s Fa-rectification process. We won’t be able to return to our original homes if we still hang on to those CCP’s Party culture influences that were forced upon us by the evil CCP.

Right at the very beginning of the lecture, Master says: “Over the last several decades, the gradual and at times imperceptible indoctrination and influence of the evil CCP’s Party culture has made the Chinese people’s disposition warped, including that of some Dafa disciples, making them think about things in extreme ways—to the point that their thinking is completely different from that of people abroad or of people in ancient, traditional China. Mainland China has well over a billion people, and through gradual indoctrination their minds have become deviant without their knowing it. They think that everyone is the same, that there’s nothing unusual [about their thinking], and that that’s just how people are. But that is not true! Sometimes when a media outlet utilizes you or when a project lets you participate, your ways of thinking, those extreme ways of doing things that come from Party culture, your lying, and your halfhearted way of working really exasperate [others].”

The above Fa reminded me of certain incidents that happened to me and other fellow practitioners. I came to realize that it was not easy to detect one’s warped Party culture disposition. However, as long as we apply the Fa to our daily activities, as long as we can reach the cultivation standards at various levels, such Party culture influence can be dissolved.

About two or three years ago, a fellow practitioner sent me a report exposing a kidnapping incident in which a fellow Dafa practitioner was kidnapped by the local evil. I read over the report and asked how old the kidnapped practitioner was. The practitioner who had sent me the report said that the kidnapped practitioner was in his 60s, but told me that I should mention in the report that the kidnapped practitioner was already in his 70s in order to generate a more powerful denunciation from the public. I told the practitioner that it was wrong to fake the age and we must follow the principles of “Zhen-Shan-Ren”, so we must report the actual age. Later on, I added the kidnapped practitioner’s actual age in the report. Now I have come to realize that what I had done then was simply try to follow the principles of “Zhen Shan Ren”. The evil Party culture was somehow dissolved without my knowledge. However, neither the fellow practitioner nor I detected that such a lying, exaggerating behavior was actually the manifestation of the Party culture’s influence upon us. It was exactly like what Master mentions in the above lecture: “Mainland China has well over a billion people, and through gradual indoctrination their minds have become deviant without their knowing it.

I ran into another similar situation about one or two years ago. A fellow practitioner brought a manually written article to me and asked me to typewrite the article and then send it to Minghui. I took a look at the script, and the first sentence read, “Along with the evil Party’s open-door policy…” I couldn’t help laughing out loud and said, “Look, even though this article is referring to the Party as an evil entity, the first sentence in this article is exactly a phrase out of Party culture.” The fellow practitioner also noticed that, so he took back the script. At that time, both the fellow practitioner and I had knowingly dissolved the Party culture’s influence.

I have always tried hard to distance myself from Party culture influence and to eliminate any such influences whenever I detected them. For over two years now, I have been sending forth righteous thoughts every day for half an hour to eliminate those Party culture influences inside me. Periodically, I would listen again to the audio tape of the “Nine Commentaries on CCP” and “Dissolving Party Culture.” I had thought that there was not much Party culture influence remaining inside me; however, a few days ago, many old thoughts kept popping up in my mind. I could feel that I was about to develop a vengeful mentality. A competitive mentality was starting to form in my mind as well. I immediately realized that my mentalities of revenge and competition were still very strong, so I decided to eliminate such mentalities completely. Upon digging further, I realized that such revenge and competition mentalities were not formed by my own human notions. They were not my life experiences nor were they thought karma that one could not suppress. As a matter of fact, such mentalities were brought upon me by the evil CCP’s famous doctrine, which claims that, “One will always get punished later on for bad deeds, or, if someone offends me, I will definitely fight back.” I then uprooted the source of my avenging and competition mentalities: it was the Party culture itself. I used my righteous thoughts to get rid of it. In the process of cleansing myself of the Party culture’s influence, I also came to realize that as long as we apply the Fa to our actions and thoughts, we can tell the Party culture’s influence from normal thoughts, dissolve such influences and change our warped disposition back to normal.

In the aforementioned lecture, Master also says, “Many people from different regions have come to this Fa conference, including some from mainland China. Many people came out of there earlier, a few years back, and over the last two years more Dafa disciples have gradually come out of China. Master hopes that you can, sooner rather than later, turn around your way of thinking and come to have the same way of thinking as do people in the rest of the world.” My understanding is that even though practitioners in mainland China might not get to know the rest of the world as easily, we’ve got the Fa and our Master. As long as we apply the Fa to ourselves, we can change our way of thinking sooner and catch up with the pace of Fa-rectification.

Right now for us practitioners living in mainland China, we should pay attention to our personal cultivation in order to dissolve those Party culture influences brought upon us by the evil CCP. We need to examine every single thought and see whether these thoughts meet the requirement of the Fa at various levels. If a thought does not meet the requirement, we must try to eliminate it. If a thought is a product of Party culture, we must eliminate it. Once we align our thoughts with the Fa, those Party culture influences will be automatically dissolved, and our way of thinking will be changed. For a cultivator, as soon as one’s thoughts are in sync with the requirements of the Fa at various levels, one will act properly, and one’s xinxing level will be improved.

Master says in the above lecture: “Once Master has brought up something, it has to be adhered to.” We will have to change our way of thinking and cultivate more diligently. Just like Master says at the end of the above lecture, “Cultivate as you did at the beginning, and you are sure to succeed!”
