In Remote Mountains After Closing the Door

A Dafa disciple

[PureInsight.org] During the mid-autumn festival, I closed the door to cultivate calmly for a whole day and suddenly became enlightened on two problems that had perplexed me for a long time. One issue is my relationship with my husband’s family. Every time I thought of people in that family, I felt my chest was stuck and suffocated. Whether young or old, I took care of every one of them as best I could, but once an issue was brought up, they became treacherous and ruthless. For a long time I knew this was accumulated rancour formed by resentment. Though I sent forth righteous thoughts toward this attachment repeatedly, it was not thoroughly eliminated.

Over the holidays, it annoyed me again when I thought about it. I then angrily crossed my legs to do meditation. Not long after I calmed down, an idea flashed in mind: “This is to help you eliminate human notions!” With this thought, tears poured down my face. Suddenly it occurred to me that each of them played different roles: some were parents-in-law, some were sisters-in-law and some were aunts. They all treated me harshly. They were actually helping me eliminate familial concepts such as parents-in-law, sisters-in-law and aunts, and eliminate the fundamental attachment of living a good life in the human world. Master said, “Studying the Fa with attachments is not true cultivation. Yet during the course of cultivation a person may gradually become aware of his fundamental attachments, rid himself of them, and thus meet the standard for a cultivator. What’s a fundamental attachment, then? Human beings acquire many notions in this world and are, as a consequence, driven by these notions to pursue what they yearn for. But when a person comes to this world, it is karmic arrangements that determine his course of life and what will be gained and lost in it. How could a person’s notions determine each stage of his life? So those so-called ‘beautiful dreams and wishes’ become pursuits that can never be realized, despite painful attachments”(Essentials for further advancement II, ‘Towards Consummation’) Life after life in reincarnation until today, the big drama has reached its last scene with the purpose of solving all the feelings of gratitude or resentment stored up in the human life, paying all debts and returning with Master to heaven. After reaching where we are today, still striving for the so called happiness in human life was really bad enlightenment quality. Once the mystery broke open, my mind suddenly cleared.

Another issue was my relationship with fellow practitioners. Every time a certain fellow practitioner came to see me, her words would writhe in my mind for several days after she left. Although I often silently recited, “Looking, but caring not to see—Free of delusion and doubt. Listening, but caring not to hear—A mind so hard to disturb,” (Hongyin, ‘Abiding in the Dao’), it still rose back from time to time. In meditation this morning, Master struck a sentence of Fa into my mind: "When he meditates he’ll know in a half-conscious state that so-and-so is practicing, so his soul leaves his body to find that person for a match to see whose mastery is better. So these fights take place. This scenario unfolds in other dimensions. And there are others who come to him for a fight or scuffle. If he doesn’t take them on they’ll really try to kill him, so they fight each other, and fight and fight "(Zhuan Falun). Suddenly I realized why she wanted to come to me for communication. What she actually said or did was a mirror; the material borne on her body also inherently existed in me. Only I did not show it the way she did.

At work I met two women who came back to visit relatives, one from Korea and another from Japan. They have both settled and had children. Despite their plain appearance, their materialistic outlooks were obvious. No matter how superior their looks or how expensive their clothing, the first feeling they exuded was a competitive and domineering attitude. Under the heinous atheistic indoctrination by the evil Chinese communist party in mainland China, not only do tens of thousands of people have the same face, but almost every one also carries the shadow of the evil spirit’s possession to some extent. They are so arrogant that they would fight heaven and earth with no respect for the heaven and the Gods. Fellow practitioners who have cultivated for many years are much more pure than ordinary people, but having been soaked in the big dye vat for several decades along with the environment of mainland China, combating words such as “fight to build, fight and struggle” were all over advertisements. Bad habits of being domineering and accusatory would occasionally arise, which could easily lead to contradictions and gaps. This kind of thing, the lack of courtesy, is what we should eliminate in cultivation. Minghui’s broadcast of the divine culture column has an issue of "Ban Chao’s woman norms". I benefited a lot from hearing it. Elegance or grace is the state women should have. Humility is the greatest virtue of women. Only wifely submission and virtue can give real happiness to women. Only by being gentle and agreeable like water, respecting the will of heaven and the Dao and obeying Master’s arrangements can one successfully walk to the endpoint of the road to consummation. Feistiness can only let you suffer a crushing defeat.

Thank you Master for your care and thought in arranging different fellow practitioners to come to my side. Their various manifestations are actually things that I should improve upon or eliminate in my cultivation. A day of peaceful cultivation by closing the doors really gave me many gains. The short, calm cultivation by snatching a little leisure time from a busy life has enabled me to face the complicated ordinary people’s society with a better mentality, thereby displaying a peaceful and contented cultivation status and validating the significance and wonderfulness of Dafa. Thank you, Master! Thank you, fellow practitioners!
