[PureInsight.org] On June 7th, Chinese Communist Party Chairman Xi Jinping attended a conference with U.S. President Barack Obama at the Annenberg Estate near Palm Springs, California. The day before, the Southwest U.S. Falun Dafa Association held a news conference calling for an end to the 14-year vicious persecution of kind-hearted Falun Gong practitioners, and to bring Jiang Zemin and the other culprits of the persecution to justice. Ten Falun Gong practitioners who were illegally imprisoned and subjected to cruel treatment in China attended the press conference. The accounts of persecution shared by two of those practitioners caused much astonishment.
Although the Austrian Studies Conference had not yet officially begun, hundreds of Falun Gong practitioners from Los Angeles, Santiago, and San Francisco had already gathered near Annenberg Estate a day early, taking advantage of Xi Jinping’s visit to the USA to voice their concerns. Southwest American Falun Dafa Association spokesperson Chen Shizhong said in a statement, “The Chinese Communist Party’s 14-year persecution of Falun Gong is the most severe encroachment of human rights in the world today. This must cease immediately, and Jiang Zemin, Luo Gan, Zhou Yongkang, Liu Jing, and Zeng Qinghong, among other culprits, must be severely punished.” He also called on President Obama to candidly raise the issue of Falun Gong with Xi Jinping in order to end the persecution.
Chen Shizhong also raised the issue of organ harvesting saying, “On July 20th 1999, the then CCP Chairperson Jiang Zemin enacted the bloody suppression of 100 million Falun Gong practitioners. Under his command of “kill without pardon”, CCP police carried out the intolerable, cruel, and brutal treatment of some millions of Falun Gong practitioners. However, most terrifying is the CCP’s system of profiteering off the live organ harvesting of Falun Gong practitioners. Due to the CCP’s information blockade, today we still haven’t understood the entirety of such savage acts.”
Dr. Dana Churchill, a representative from Doctors Against Forced Organ Harvesting (DAFOH）stated, “Because profiteering off the organs of the deceased is considered taboo to the Chinese, the CCP only employs such tactics with individuals charged with the death penalty. However, starting in 2005, the CCP’s greatest source of organs comes from Falun Gong practitioners who are illegally imprisoned in labor camps that have been charged with the death penalty. In Western countries, a patient has to wait two to three years for an organ. In China, you can receive an organ within a week.” Dr. Churchill says there is various evidence that confirms this, including the testimony of the wife of a labor camp doctor that harvests retinas, as well as the labor camp experiences of numerous Falun Gong practitioners concerning unconventionally meticulous physical examinations. He said, “We estimate that currently, 65,000 Falun Gong practitioners have died as a result of live organ harvesting. Murdering people for their faith and then harvesting their organs while alive to transplant into patients—this is unprecedented in the history of mankind.”
The testimonies of two Falun Gong practitioners shocked every audience member. Falun Gong practitioner Wang Dafang of San Francisco, California said, “Twelve years ago, on August 1st 2001, my sister went to Beijing to appeal to upper officials, and was seized by the CCP and imprisoned in the Jilin women’s labor camp. While she was there she was subjected to all forms of cruel persecution and within four months, she was persecuted to death. We will never forget that day, when late at night, we got a call from the labor camp. After we hurried to the hospital, we were met with my sister’s dead corpse. It was extremely tragic. Her lower body was naked, rendering it difficult to continue looking. A tourniquet was wrapped around her arm; toilet paper was wrapped around her neck, and her eyes were open. We threw ourselves at her, shouting for her, but she never woke up. What’s most unforgettable for me is our 80-year-old mother and father, who shouted for my sister with trembling voices. During her life, my sister was an excellent bank worker. She was very kind and very pretty. My sister firmly believed in Falun Dafa and was a good person living according to Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. Yet the CCP still persecuted her in this way.”
In 2001, Wang Dafang himself went to Beijing to appeal to the authorities, where he was arrested by the police and illegally imprisoned. “In 2001, I myself went to Beijing to seek higher ups and to clarify the truth to the central government. Because CCP officials wouldn’t listen to what we had to say, we went to Tiananmen Square to hold banners saying Falun Dafa is good. A group of police officers threw me to the ground, punching and kicking me. Afterwards, they imprisoned us at the Dongcheng detention center. At the time the police asked us to report our surnames. In order to not implicate their family members and colleagues, many Falun Dafa practitioners refused to give their surnames. This is why there are so many missing Falun Gong practitioners, who have become victims of live organ harvesting.”
Hailing from northeast China, the other Falun Gong practitioner—Ma Chunmei, flew especially from Washington D.C. for the event. She said, “I used to have all sorts of sicknesses. After learning Falun Gong all of those ailments disappeared. Acting as a good person according to Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance, my former enemies have even become my friends. Since the persecution began in 1999, I’ve been illegally kidnapped four times, and have been sentenced to labor camps twice. In the evil labor camp we had to work 18 or 19 hours a day of slave labor. But the labor camp tells the public that we work only six hours. The Chinese constitution stipulates that citizens have the right to freedom of belief. However in the labor camps, we are illegally force fed. The prison police laugh at us and even take pictures. Remember in June of 2000, when labor camp authorities commanded a ‘100 percent transformation?’ A group of police officers punched and kicked me, and all I could hear was the popping sound of electric batons. I was seized by the hair and struck against the wall. I don’t know how many times I lost consciousness and re-awoke. At the time I felt like my heart was going to jump out, that I was about to spit blood out. It was awfully painful. After the police officers were tired from beating us, the squad leader said, ‘Don’t tell anyone. Nobody saw you get beaten.’ Meng Yanxi, a 20-year-old ethnic Korean practitioner, was tortured so badly that she lost consciousness and was carried out. I attempted to speak to her, so they hung me up and beat me. Afterwards, I never again heard of Meng Yanxi’s whereabouts.”
“Aside from the cruelty inflicted on the body, there are the psychological blows,” said Ma Chunmei. She had a great relationship with her husband, whom she had been married to for 13 years. After her husband went to speak with the police, he suddenly expressed to her that he wanted a divorce. After she was helplessly forced to sign the divorce documents, her husband’s tears flowed continuously. In his heart he was extremely pained. Ma Chunmei said, “I am very fortunate that I am still here. I have over 10 friends that have all already been persecuted to death. My sister Ma Chunling is currently suffering persecution in the Masanjia labor death camp.” Lastly, she expressed her hope that Xi Jinping would severely punish the murderers and liberate all imprisoned Falun Gong practitioners.
