[PureInsight.org] Located on the Songhuajiang-Nenjiang Plain, Qiqihar City has been known throughout history as home to modest and open-minded people. Known as Laobokui in the past, Zhalong Town is the home of the red-crowned crane. Therefore, Qiqihar is often referred to as the Place of Cranes. This is related to the history of cultivation practice that permeates Chinese culture, as many Taoists traveled on cranes according to Chinese legends. People from this area have deep predestined relationships with Falun Gong. Master Li Hongzhi came to Qiqihar City to introduce Falun Gong (also known as Falun Dafa) on July 16, 1993. Many people were fortunate enough to attend his lectures in person.
When Master Li came to Qiqihar City, he stayed in Room 301 at the Wuyi Hotel, located on the north side of Zhonghuan Square. Wearing a white shirt, Master Li always appeared clean and modest. Hotel staff all considered him a dignified and noble qigong master; at the same time, they also found him easygoing and kind to everyone.

The place where the Wuyi Hotel used to be located
The Wuyi Hotel is close to both Longsha Park, and the Qiqihar City Electric Power Palace of Culture. In the mornings, Master Li often went for a walk in Longsha Park. One day, seeing a woman carrying a 12-year-old boy on her back, Master Li came up to her and asked her what had happened. The woman said the boy had been paralyzed. Master Li asked her to put down the boy, but she refused saying the boy had been paralyzed. Master Li then told her again to put down the boy, and she followed his words. Master Li spent a little time to make some adjustments, and the boy was then able to stand up. Many people immediately came up and said with surprise, “He is able to stand now. He is able to stand now!” The woman was very excited and said, “This person [Master Li] must have supernormal abilities. I have to thank him.” She turned around and found Master Li had already left.
The second entrance of Longsha Park
Many people in Qiqihar City knew that there used to be a vendor near the second entrance of Longsha Park. The vendor was from South China and he had a big pile of teeth on his table. In Lecture Seven of Zhuan Falun, Master Li said:
“When I taught a class in Qiqihar, I saw a person who had a vendor stand on the street and was pulling teeth for people. One could easily tell that this person came from the South, as he was not dressed like a Northeasterner. He would not refuse anyone who came to him. He would pull a tooth for anybody who came, and he had there a pile of pulled teeth….
Ancient Chinese science is different from our present science that we have learned from the West, as it took another path that could bring about a different state. Therefore, we cannot understand ancient Chinese science and technology through our current way of understanding things. Because ancient Chinese science focused directly on the human body, life, and the universe, and it studied these subjects directly, it took a different approach.”
When Master Li was introducing Falun Gong in Qiqihar City, he sent off Falun to many people with predestined relationships. Even before the lectures, one practitioner already felt Falun revolving in his body, although he did not know what it was until attending Master’s lectures. In addition, Master Li also gave guidance on establishing the practice sites in Qiqihar City. When the lectures were over, Master Li did not want a farewell at the railway station. So many practitioners stood in front of the Electric Power Palace of Culture—the road that leads to the railway station—to say goodbye. Many practitioners were in tears seeing Master Li and the accompanying practitioners leaving.
Qiqihar practitioners practicing peacefully in public prior to 1999
Having a deep relationship with ancient Chinese culture, Falun Gong was first introduced to the public by Master Li in May 1992. It is now practiced freely in more than 100 nations including Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macao. More than 100 million Falun Dafa practitioners around the world all follow the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. As a result, both their minds and bodies have improved.
However, this Great Way of virtue has been subject to an unprecedented persecution in China. Out of selfishness and jealousy, Jiang Zemin launched the massive persecution of Falun Gong. On June 10, 1999, he established the “610 Office,” a Gestapo-like organization that supersedes the Chinese constitution, has power over all levels of the government, armed forces, and police, and was created expressly to persecute Falun Dafa by any means possible. Many policies were implemented, including: “defaming their reputations, bankrupting them financially, and destroying them physically.” As a result, several Qiqihar practitioners died from torture or abuse during detention. Many practitioners were detained, imprisoned, sent to labor camps, or forced to stay away from home. Many families were broken in this way. Moreover, officials from the First Qiqihar Hospital worked together with various prisons and labor camps to harvest organs from live Falun Dafa practitioners, followed by cremation of their bodies to remove any evidence of their crimes.
However, the truth will not be suppressed by tyranny or violence. Falun Gong practitioners were not misled by the lies, nor were they intimidated by the brutality or the genocide of the persecution. In the last 10 years, with indestructible righteous faith and perseverance, Falun Gong practitioners have been opposing the persecution peacefully and rationally. With determination and courage, they have been clarifying the truth to the people of the world. With tears and blood, they have safeguarded the truth nobly and with dignity.
Because of its high virtue, Falun Gong has so far received more than 3000 proclamations around the world. Falun Gong books have been translated into more than 30 languages and published all over the world. The belief in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance has transcended race and nationality, touching every corner of the world.
