Reciting the Fa
I began to recite the Fa when I was forced to stay away from home [to avoid being arrested]. At the beginning, I thought I was too old and it would take a long time to be able to recite the whole book. Through Fa study and cultivation, however, I realized that cultivation means paying attention to our xinxing and our heart. That is, although our ability is limited, the more we recite, they more we can understand from the Fa.
In this way, I began to recite the first section and recited it many times. When I realized I had spent too much time on this section, I started the next section of the chapter. When I finished the sixth section, I had forgotten the previous sections and had to recite them over and over again.
Later, after studying the Fa more and reading sharings from my fellow practitioners, I understood that Teacher had saved the part of us that has cultivated well. Similar things happen when reciting the Fa. So I kept on reciting the Fa, sometimes between cooking meals or while waiting for buses. One winter, I had to go to a small truth-clarification material production site everyday. It took one and a half hour each way. I recited the Fa while riding my bike. In this way, albeit slowly, I was persisting in reciting the Fa. Now, I have recited Zhuan Falun twice.
I have occasionally studied Teacher's lectures in various places. Either while reciting the Fa or reading the Fa, I have tried to discipline myself according to the Fa.
Group Fa Study
Recently, I have found that in some group study sites practitioners read the Fa very fast and do not even stop when there are comas and periods. I asked them about this. Some practitioners think they have read the Fa so many times and they can recite the Fa. Some think it is better to read more during group study. Here I would like to share my opinion.
The school that my grandson attends had a competition one day in which students were required to recite poems from the Tang Dynasty. I wanted to help him, but he said he had already recited several poems. He was naughty and intentionally recited the poems very fast and monotonously without pausing. I felt it was inappropriate to recite such beautiful and famous poems like that. This reminds me of Fa study. Every sentence of Teacher's lectures has deep inner meanings and there are Buddhas, Taos, and Gods behind each word. Therefore, we need to pay more attention to Fa study.
When watching the Shen Yun Performing Arts shows or NTDTV programs, I saw the hosts speak steadily with an appropriate tone. I think we must also do that when reading Teacher's lectures.
Recently, I read an article from the Minghui website. A practitioner said that when he studies the Fa at home alone, he reads it loudly and clearly. He felt very good and through his celestial eye he saw that many sentient beings were listening. I agree with this and think that doing things this way helps to rectify the universe and eliminate evil.
Our group Fa study sites are sacred places where we open our hearts and can share our understandings. In this way, we can help each other and improve together.
