[PureInsight.org] A couple of months ago, my right arm suddenly ached. It still hurts even today. I remembered that at the beginning of my cultivation, whenever I experienced physical discomfort, I treated it as karma elimination or interference, and I regarded it as a false illusion. I completely ignored it by doing my daily activities normally. Although I didn’t send forth righteous thoughts specifically toward this matter, the symptom always went away very soon when I sent righteous thoughts.
However, in recent years I noticed that when I used this same approach to handle the physical discomfort, the symptom didn’t vanish right away; on the contrary, it often lasted quite long. I didn’t know why. I wondered: “I regarded it as a false illusion and kept doing the three things without being affected by it, so how come it could still exist? Am I doing something wrong?”
Today when I studied Zhuan Falun, I read the passage in “The Issue of Killing” in Lecture Seven where Master said: “When flies and mosquitoes are in the house, we can drive them out or install a window screen to keep them out. Sometimes, they cannot be driven out, and then if they are smashed, so be it. If they are going to sting and harm people in the space where human beings live, one should certainly drive them out. If they cannot be driven out, one cannot just watch them sting people there. As a practitioner, you do not mind them and you are immune to them, but your family members do not practice cultivation and are everyday people concerned with the problem of contagious diseases. We cannot watch and do nothing when a mosquito stings a child on the face.”
I suddenly enlightened to something when reading this: flies and mosquitoes are pests, and we practitioners are not afraid of them because we are immune to disease; however, it is different for ordinary people. They could get sick if those insects sting them. Therefore, we need to drive those insects out, and sometimes even kill them. I realized that when the evil persecutes us, as long as we have strong righteous thoughts, the evil can do nothing to us. However, although it can’t harm us, it could harm ordinary people and even other Dafa practitioners whose righteous thoughts aren’t strong. So how could I ignore the evil and let it harm other beings freely?
The higher the level of cultivation is, the higher the requirement of Dafa is. At the early stage, I could pass the test as long as I ignored the evil. Since I didn’t give it any space in my mind, it couldn’t take advantage of me, so it had to leave. But now it is no longer okay for me to still handle it that way. For the sake of other beings, for the goodness of the universe, I need to proactively send forth righteous thoughts to disintegrate the evil instead of passively letting it leave.
It is Dafa disciples’ solemn duty to disintegrate the evil that undermines Dafa and interferes with the Fa rectification. When one is persecuted by the evil, one must disintegrate the evil thoroughly—not just for oneself, but for sentient beings. When we hear that a practitioner is being persecuted, our very first thought should be disintegrating the evil that persecutes our fellow practitioner; the first thought should not be trying to discover the loophole within that practitioner. It is like when we see someone fall into a river; we should save that person first before asking why they fell in.
I finally understood that whatever we do, including studying the Fa, looking inside, and sending forth righteous thoughts, we must think of other beings—the fundamental basis of doing everything is “for others.” We are the guardians of the universe. For the goodness of the universe, let’s proactively disintegrate the evil that undermines Dafa and persecutes Dafa disciples!
This is just my personal understanding. Please kindly point out anything that is not in line with the Fa.
