Experience sharing at the 2009 Los Angeles Fa Conference
Greetings, my honorable Teacher. Hello, my fellow practitioners!
I am a Falun Dafa practitioner from Mainland China, and I have been a Falun Dafa practitioner since August 1996. When I began, I was only up to the standard of behaving like a good though ordinary person. Before I became a Dafa practitioner, I was very ill in every part of my body. I had heart disease (an atrial septal defect), sciatica, arthritis, severe hemorrhoids, amebic dysentery, sequelae of concussion (vertigo, pain, faintness, dizziness, eyes bulging), etc. Six months after I became a Dafa practitioner, all the symptoms mitigated or disappeared one after another. I felt so free and healthy, without costing me a penny of medical fees.
The evil Jiang and the Chinese Communist Party started to persecute Dafa on July 20, 1999. At the beginning of the persecution, the evil came to my house three times; on August 10, August 20, and September 1 respectively, they illegally searched and confiscated materials from my home and threatened, yelled at, and harassed me constantly. They prohibited me from doing Falun Dafa exercises, prohibited me from going out, and they threatened that I had to ask for permission to leave whenever I had anything to do. As a result of my good behaviors toward the village after I became a Dafa practitioner, the village vouched for me. I was free from house detention or fines.
Later, I went to my son’s home in Yunnan. The Party telephoned me and queried why I didn’t ask for a leave of travel and didn’t report to them, they threatened and yelled at me, and asked me to call and report to them 5 times a month or else they would send someone to arrest me. Because of my lack of understanding of the Fa, I didn’t realize Dafa disciples’ mission, which is to do the three things well and save people, so I couldn’t truly step out.
At the beginning of 2002, I started to behave by the standard of a Dafa disciple, teacher taught us in “Let Go of Human Attachments and Save the World's People”: “For this reason, all Dafa disciples, students both new and veteran, should get to work and begin comprehensively clarifying the truth. This is especially so for the Dafa disciples in Mainland China: each must come out and clarify the truth, bringing it to every field and valley, mountain and hill, not omitting a single area where there are people.” I understood that I am a Dafa disciple; I should step out to clarify the facts, to save the people, and this is included in the three things.
I left that environment and came to the county town; a place with a radius of 2 kilometers. Few people knew me there, so I viewed all the people in the entire county, within the agencies, units, schools, factories and streets as the sentient beings of my extended family. I told them my own personal experience, about the wonderfulness of Dafa, the evil of the Communist Party, the awakening of the people in the world, Falun Gong spreading across the world, the flyers about international attention to human rights issues in China, the persecution of Falun Gong, and the harvesting of practitioners’ organs for profits. I talked with people and sent them flyers during the day, and delivered and posted the flyers in the evening. I classified several districts of the town according to different groups of people and different locations. Then I handled things in different ways according to their different characteristics.
I delivered the flyers and VCD’s about the Nine Commentaries, the spreading of Dafa in the world, and the retribution of good and evil. I sent them to the offices and placed them in the inboxes on the desks of the public security bureau building in the county, the rostrum in the conference room, windowsills, door handles, cars and so on; each time I took these actions in the afternoon while others are resting. I sent flyers to the government offices more than three times. I sent the Nine Commentaries and “The Retribution of Evil,” and “The Awakening of People in the World” to the front gate of the “610” Office. I also sent a packet of flyers to the corridor of the building in which the Director of the “610” Office resided. The County Department of Education, courts, police stations, procurator’s office, and Bureau of Justice are all places that I chose to go. While on my route, I never forgot the dormitory building where the government officers and their families lived. Throughout the entire county, I repeatedly sent Nine Commentaries and other materials to residential buildings, streets, parks, the four county schools, most of the classrooms and offices. I delivered Falun Dafa pamphlets and Falun Dafa amulets wherever I could.
Throughout the 5 years between 2002 and 2006, I had been to every corridor of all the buildings, even to isolated and remote places in the county. Because they are sentient beings, they are those whom I should save. Some of my actions had been noticed by the evil police. In order to avoid the evil persecution, in 2007-2008, I moved to 2 different places where I continued to do what I should do, that is, save sentient beings. Yet, amidst the evil persecution, I safely and smoothly progressed through the past few years; it was totally because of my righteous thoughts and belief in both Teacher and the Fa.
Disciples’ Righteous Thoughts are Strong
Teacher wrote, “When disciples have ample righteous thoughts, Master has the power to turn the tide” (“The Master-Disciple Bond,” Hong Yin Vol. II).
Each time before I went out to deliver flyers, I would heshi in front of a photo of Teacher, praying for Teacher’s reinforcement of my supernatural powers, making the evil police, bad people, and the evil lives behind everyday people unable to find me. But sometimes I still had the attachment of fear, of being persecuted by the evil. This is because among the practitioners I had contact with, some had been persecuted to death, one had been illegally sentenced to jail/labor camp three times, two different pairs of father and son had been persecuted into bankruptcy, one practitioner had been persecuted to the loss of 40,000 yuan, five had been illegally arrested before the Olympic Games, and two of them had been illegally sentenced to jail time. Whenever the attachment of fear arose, I would immediately deny it and adjust my thoughts to become righteous again. “I am a Dafa disciple, I am a life who is walking on the path toward Godhood.” I was doing the most righteous thing; the evil dares not to persecute me. Teacher and the divine beings protecting the Fa will protect me, there is nothing I fear!
Teacher said: “Validate the Fa with rationality, clarify the truth with wisdom, spread the Fa and save people with mercy” (“Rationality,” Essentials for Further Advancement II). I clarified the facts according to different situations and people. I did these by the standard of Fa as much as I could.
One time I was clarifying the facts in the dormitory of the County Bureau of Light Industry, when I noticed a person who looked like a leader who had been poisoned by the Party very seriously. The person censured me, saying that I publicized superstition, and was against the Party. He wanted to call the police station. I was not frightened, I sent forth righteous thoughts, and spoke calmly, talking about my personal experience, “I got rid of all the sickness in my body after I practiced Falun Gong; no one charged me any money, and there were all types of people practicing Falun Gong. Falun Gong is being persecuted, and freedom of belief is included in the constitution. I did not force anyone to accept Falun Gong. I did not affect you, and you shouldn’t want to treat me like that.” Some people gathered while I was speaking, but I was not afraid.
A kind person put their hand on my back and tugged on my clothes. They told me to leave as soon as possible. In this way, I left their sight smoothly under Teacher’s guidance.
Once, in a shopping market, I clarified the facts to a retired veteran military leader. He said he would like to learn more, and hated the corruption of the evil Party, he also asked for some flyers. He was very pleased and quit the evil Party immediately.
Through these events, I told my personal experience and clarified the facts according to different groups of people and places. Whenever I went out, on the bus, or as I met with relatives or friends, I began to ponder on how to tell others the truth, and I never forgot to save all sentient beings.
With all the time I had available, I brought and delivered the flyers, such as the amulets with “Falun Dafa is good” on them, and the flyers about how the Chinese Communist Party persecutes Falun Gong. The Chinese Communist Party has no choice but to die, so it is advisable to quit the Party and keep one’s life. I found that only if my righteous thoughts were strong would people easily accept the truth. If I thought of the possibility of being persecuted by the evil, then the attachment of fear might arise, I would not dare to speak, and would lose my courage. So, it is very crucial to hold onto righteous thoughts.
In a market, there was a 40-year-old woman. She was breathing laboriously and had a very pale face. When she was not so busy, I told her the truth about Dafa and the evil Party. I also sent her the VCD disc and the flyers with great blessings from Heaven. I told her to recite sincerely, “Falun Dafa is good,” and gave her an amulet. Sometime later when I met her again, she was so happy and very grateful to me. I said: “You need not thank me, and should thank Falun Gong’s teacher. I am also a beneficiary of his grace. If you could, please tell your friends and family members to recite, ‘Falun Dafa is good,’ and then you will be blessed!”
I also clarified the facts from a third person perspective.
Once in a bus in which there were nearly 20 passengers, I was wondering how to clarify the facts to all the passengers, and then two middle-aged women started talking about their illnesses and painful diseases. I thought this might be an arrangement by Teacher to let me save them. Immediately, I thanked Teacher in my heart for reinforcing my thoughts and actions. I told them, “Concerning therapy, I knew a person, many people knew him, something happened to him that may be unbelievable to a number of people. He had been diagnosed with congenital heart disease at the provincial hospital. He couldn’t breath well whenever it was a little hot. He also had a variety of other diseases, and relied on ‘essence of ginseng’ to hold steady, let alone to work. The hospital advised him to undergo surgery, but he had three children and feared that if surgery was not successful, then his family might not be able to bear the burden. They did not have anyone to take care of them, so this meant he had to give up the option of surgery. All he could do in life was suffer. He also experienced head trauma and had to put on a hat in ‘Lunar August.’ But all these forms of suffering disappeared after he practiced Falun Gong. Now he can do any kind of work, including farming, excavation, and so on. All the local residents knew him. He sent me several amulets, and told me sincerely that he recites, ‘Falun Dafa is good. Truthfulness, Benevolence, Forbearance is good.’ He told me to be a good person, to always think of others, never hurt others even in one’s thoughts. I followed his request, and strictly behaved myself in accordance with the high standards. Every day I recite ‘Falun Dafa is good, and Truthfulness, Benevolence, Forbearance is good’ and my health is indeed very good.” (The truth of the matter is that all along I was talking about myself.)
We continued our discussion. I said, “I have seen from information that the event of practitioners burning themselves in Tiananmen Square as a suicide attempt was not real. Elder people knew of many similar incidents, including during the Cultural Revolution, the June Fourth Movement, and so on, that were not genuine either. Whoever had power was the ‘right one’ in China. Many students and professors in Tsinghua University, and many experts, doctors and people in over seventy countries practice Falun Gong. They have their own minds.” I also talked about the banners that had the characters, “Falun Dafa is good” and “Truthfulness, Benevolence, Forbearance is good,” written on them. These banners were hung over guardrails of some rivers, on the utility poles, the corridors and the trees surrounding some markets. I said to them, “What we ordinary people want is just blessedness and safety. If you trust me, I’ll give you an amulet. Please remember in your heart to read this whenever you have time, and that it is so good, without any risk.” Afterwards, they were happy to accept. I also talked about the recent discovery of the stone with the words “The Party is Eliminated” on it. The divine beings will eliminate the Chinese Communist Party, and to quit the Party is to keep one’s life. Only if you have enough righteous thoughts can you save others. When you do not consider yourself and can disregard the notion of safety, Teacher will protect you and you will be able to eliminate all forms of interference. The old forces can no longer do bad things.
My family members all say Dafa is good, because they’ve witnessed my great improvement in physical and mental health. However, they did not agree with my going out to clarify the facts during these past years. My friends and family members were opposed to my clarifying the facts and sending out flyers, for fear that I would bring them trouble. They too have witnessed the brutality of the Communist Party. I have been a Dafa disciple for so many years; I know very well the responsibility of a Dafa disciple; I must do the three things well and save people; this cannot be disturbed.
To help with their concerns, my wife and I took care of our grandson’s education responsibilities. After we sent him to school, I then copied flyers and went out to deliver them. In the evening, I went out only after they fell asleep. Under a strong field of righteous thoughts, I talked with them many times very patiently. 99% of my relatives and friends quit the Party, though a few did not, and this has become my regret. A child of one my colleagues who worked in the Public Security Bureau threatened to arrest me if I continued to talk with his father about quitting the Party. However, I remained unmoved. Our Teacher taught us in the “Lecture on the Fa in Changchun”: “I have often said a word, I said if you use compassion, not selfishness, and do not think of yourself even a little bit, entirely for the good of others, when you speak to him he will be touched to tears.” That I cannot mercifully save all people, this is my regret. But I believe in Teacher and the Fa, “right thought” and “right behavior.”
People saw me leave the Nine Commentaries on the stools in the park, they saw me put flyers on the stairs, they saw me place VCD discs in the market baskets, but they did not report me. The officers in the Public Security Bureau and the county government seemed unable to notice me. All of this is no doubt because Teacher is with me all the time. As long as there are enough righteous thoughts, the black hands and rotten ghosts can do nothing to me. I should thank Teacher and Dafa that I could make it through all of this to today!
I have been visiting my daughter's home for several months, I will continue to save people here and walk the last leg of the journey well. At last, let us encourage one another with a quote from our teacher: “Do well the things that Dafa disciples should do, and walk the last leg of the journey well. Righteous thoughts and righteous actions.” (“Eliminate the Dark Minions With Righteous Thoughts”, 2004)
