Some Understandings about Human Thoughts and Divine Thoughts

[PureInsight.org] Many years ago, I developed sarcoma on one of my arms. It wasn’t painful or itchy, but it also didn’t look nice. Recently, when I was washing my face one day, I suddenly noticed that the sarcoma was gone. How great! I was so pleasantly surprised that I kept touching the area excitedly. When had this happened? I didn’t know. But I was happy and said to myself, “Falun Dafa is good.”

When I washed my face the next day, however, I noticed a dark dot had appeared at the spot where the sarcoma was before. I recalled what Master said in Zhuan Falun: “Yet this excitement is an attachment, an attachment of elation. An Arhat should be free of attachments, with a heart that cannot be affected. But he failed, and his cultivation ended up in vain.” Although it was a small thing, it showed what change the attachment would bring. Master explained it very clearly in the Fa, but I still got excited about the disappearance of the sarcoma. I realized the dark spot was a product of an attachment, the attachment of “being too engrossed.” It was a sign that I still had attachment. In other words, it was a stain caused by my attachment. I was excited about the disappearance of the sarcoma because I was only concerned about being “good-looking” — a human thought ultimately rooted in selfishness. We should stay calm inside no matter what we encounter. Any attachment, whether fear, zealotry, or “wanting to get something,” could cause trouble in our cultivation. We therefore should not be attached to anything. We should keep a compassionate and harmonious mind at all times. When we run into issues, we should always consider others first.

In early December 2003, at the Yuanbao Shan community in Chifeng City in Nei Menggu Province, suddenly over forty or fifty police cars and several hundred policemen appeared and began a search for Dafa practitioners in the area. Any practitioner who attended the local Fa conference that day would be abducted and his or her house would be confiscated. A practitioner’s Dafa-related materials such as CDs or books would also be taken away.

At that time, I wasn’t aware of this, and I was talking with a practitioner at a store. Someone hurriedly told me, “Falun Gong practitioner XXX was arrested. Just run.” So I stepped out of the store and walked onto the street. I was reciting Master’s Fa in my mind without fear or worry. I walked to the west. When I got closer to the evil, I sent very strong righteous thoughts: “The Fa rectifies the Cosmos; the Evil is completely eliminated.” A person controlled by the evil jumped out and asked me: “Are you XXX? Are you XXX?” I didn’t answer him and didn’t pay attention to him at all. I just recited the formula of rectifying Fa repeatedly and continued walking towards the west calmly. With Master’s help, the evil left and I escaped from its tentacles.

Master reminds us to always have righteous thoughts. Master said that we can think, “’I'm Li Hongzhi's disciple, I don't want other arrangements or acknowledge them’ -- then they won't dare to do that. So it can all be resolved. When you can really do that, not just saying it but putting it into action, Master will definitely stand up for you. What's more, there are lots of Fa guardians around Master, there are lots of Buddhas, Daos, and Gods, and there are even greater beings, and they will all participate, because forced persecution that's not acknowledged is a crime, and the cosmos's old laws don't allow it either--irrational persecution absolutely is not allowed, and the old forces don't dare to do it if that is the situation. So you should do things as righteously as you can.” (Explaining the Fa During the 2003 Lantern Festival at the U.S. West Fa Conference)

My current understanding is that when a cultivator’s thought is in line with the Fa, the thought is pure and powerful; it contains great compassion and harmony, as well as seriousness and steadiness. This righteous thought is truly responsible for all the righteous elements in the universe. This righteous thought also disintegrates evils that interfere with Fa rectification at different levels and safeguards the Fa. Why are righteous thoughts so powerful? Because a righteous thought has Master’s enforcement and help from righteous gods. All the evils can be completely eliminated under a righteous thought. Everything is done by Master, so as long as we have righteous thoughts and righteous actions, Master will help us.

My enlightenment is limited. Please kindly point out if my understanding is not in line with the Fa. Heshi.

Let us encourage each other with Master’s poem, “A Righteous God:”

With righteous thoughts and righteous actions
He is diligent without letting up
Eliminating demons that damage the Fa
He is good to all beings
