For a while, I encountered a lot of obstruction to my Dafa work, and a lot of it came from an ordinary person. Other practitioners had different opinions about this. Some thought that this person was a demon and that we should send out righteous thoughts to eliminate the evil forces behind him. Others thought that we ourselves had some shortcomings in doing Dafa work, which made him go against us, and that he was just doing his own work as an ordinary person. I realized that a sin would be committed whenever his actions blocked the Fa rectification process, regardless of what his reasons were. I was unable to overcome this tribulation for a long time, and this person seemed very friendly to us. I couldn’t help but doubt the correctness of my own thoughts.
I had a dream day before yesterday. I dreamed that I was sitting in lotus position in a very high level, where everything, every being, conformed to the cosmic characteristics of “truthfulness, compassion and tolerance.” The thought I had at that time also conformed to “truthfulness, compassion and tolerance.” Because this thought conformed to the cosmic characteristics, all beings in this level, including the air, water, and all the components of my body at micro levels helped me to work it out. Thus, the thought was carried out before it left my body.
Then, I went down to another level, where I also had a thought. The beings in this level wanted to help me out, too. But I noticed that there were a few beings that had some black substance who were not interested in helping me.
I found that there were more beings that had black substance when I went down further, and it was more difficult for my thought to be carried out, because there were fewer beings who wanted to help me. The more beings that had black substance and the more dense the black substance was, the more obstructions there were.
At last, I went to the world of human beings, where the black substance was found everywhere and surrounded everybody. Some people wanted to block me, and some wanted to help me. Even those who wanted to help had black substance in their thoughts. Even when they thought they did a good deed, their thoughts looked dark, too. I couldn’t accept their help at all, and I felt beset with difficulties.
Then the person who had obstructed us a lot before showed up. He said something that absolutely blocked what I wanted to do: “It is over.” Just when I thought I couldn’t make it, that person said something else, and those words cleared out all the past obstacles and greatly helped to push things forward.
At first, I felt surprised. Then I realized that this person had changed because of the strong impact on his thought. The impact came from the thought I had had while in the very high level. It was the purest and the one that most conformed to the Fa, and it was the thought I sent out when I was in the highest level. That thought was extremely powerful, and went through every level from the top to the bottom. It was like a huge magnet, and it could correct all wrong things and change all evil to good. In the presence of righteous thoughts, all evil thoughts melted down before they could obstruct anything. In the human world, all obstructions would turn into assistance through the force of righteous thought, regardless of who was responsible.
When I woke up, I understood more about the obstacles that had recently been in my way.
1. I realized the importance of “looking inside oneself” further.
Righteous thoughts from Dafa practitioners are extremely powerful. But then, why do we still find so many obstacles in the human world? The key point may be that our thoughts are not pure and righteous enough and do not conform to the Fa. Because we have been practicing Dafa for a long time, we tend to think that we are righteous and treat all other people who place obstructions in our way as demons. We think that their being against us is being against the Fa and neglect the deeper meaning of “looking inside oneself.” Actually, when we do work for Dafa, without being aware of it we blend in human impurities, and they are the source of the obstacles. The most important thing that we should focus on is that our thoughts be pure and that they conform to the Fa standard. If our thoughts are sufficiently pure and righteous, there can be no obstacles, no obstructions. In other words, if we come upon the same obstacles for a long time, we ourselves may be the problem.
2. My work for Dafa is quite technological. I often have discussions with practitioners from the viewpoint of an ordinary person -- unconsciously, of course. Actually, these are all “human being matters” which superficially look right but which are wrong when carried out. So practitioners hold their own opinions in the discussion. We can’t seem to agree, and we even have conflict sometimes. Actually, the work could have many different approaches and everybody might be right. If so, discussion does not help in any way. The most important thing to keep in mind is whether our thoughts are pure and conform to the Fa!
I realized that Dafa practitioners should gather together to discuss “gods’ matters,” such as how to bring our understanding and deeds closer to the requirements of the Fa. We shouldn’t discuss ordinary human beings' matters, which are only superficial phenomena. If we become attached to them, demons could easily control human beings and place various obstacles in their way, thus wearing them out. Even though we did something, the result might not meet the requirements of the Fa. Conversely, if our thoughts are righteous enough, the Fa can break through all false appearances and correct all evil. Then demons would be nothing and could do nothing.
3. We should be compassionate to human beings because even Dafa practitioners, let alone ordinary persons, can obstruct Fa rectification when they have impure thoughts. We should reform a misguided person with the wisdom and compassion we have gotten from Dafa, and we should break the arrangement by the evil old forces with the power and prestige of Dafa.
The next morning after my dream, a practitioner and I talked with the person who had placed obstacles in our way. Even though I had come to certain realizations, I didn’t really know how to persuade this person. At last, I decided not to think about it any more. I put my thoughts in a very high level; they were very pure: I came here to assist the Teacher in Fa rectification; I just wanted to do the work assigned to me by the Master Buddha; and I didn’t care about other things. The result was unexpected -- he agreed to our requirements soon after we began the talk. He did a complete turnabout, compared to what had happened at the time of our last talk.
Even though I can’t see the real reason for his change, I personally think it is good progress: we should check our thoughts and deeds with the standard of the Fa all the time and “look inside ourselves.” Only in this way we can have righteous thoughts as firm as a rock and remove all obstacles and arrangements by the old evil forces.
