Many People Noticed The New Banner
This morning we arrived at a subway entrance close to the World Trade Center, and raised a new banner containing the following message: "Many of your Chinese coworkers have been deceived and are helping spread the Communist Party of China's lies. Please do not be misled by their words. Find out the truth about Falun Gong on your own."
There were a large number of people passing by where we stood. Although not many of them took our truth-clarification flyers, many noticed and read the new banner. Three Chinese-looking men in business suits passed us by. One of them walked up to the banner and read the banner up close. He paid very close attention reading the banner while a fellow practitioner offered him a flyer. He took the flyer while reading the banner. He turned his head to read the banner several times when he finally walked away to catch up his friends who were waiting for him. Finally, he left with a very conflicted facial expression. A Caucasian gentleman walked briskly by the banner while reading the message on it. He even turned sideways in order to finish reading the banner while continuing walking forward. Many Chinese-looking people took our flyers. Some western people raised their thumbs at us.
30 Flyers
One day a young girl came by and asked a Falun Gong practitioner for 30 flyers. Here is their conversation:
"Why do you need 30 flyers?"
"I am going to do a show and tell of Falun Gong in front of my class, and there are 30 students in my class."
"Do you know anything about Falun Gong?"
"Yes, I do."
"Can you tell me why Falun Gong practitioners are suffering the persecution?"
"That I don't know."
The practitioner then explained to her the reason of the persecution and the truth about Falun Gong. Then she gave the young girl 30 truth-clarification flyers.
A Kind Heart
A Caucasian man came and asked a Falun Gong practitioner, "I am very sympathetic towards Falun Gong. I have an 8-year-old daughter, who watched your torture exhibit. I don't know how to explain to her the persecution against Falun Gong." The practitioner replied, "Why don't you explain to your daughter this way: 'What is happening to Falun Gong practitioners in China right now is that depraved men are bullying the kindhearted people. These kindhearted people are Falun Gong practitioners. We should help these kindhearted people.' This will help reinforce your daughter's kindness to others. A kind heart will benefit her throughout her lifetime." The Caucasian father beamed immediately, "Thank you! Thank you! I now know how to explain the persecution of Falun Gong to my daughter."
A Film Student from an Art Academy
A student majoring in film at an art academy told us that he planned to make a documentary film about Falun Gong. He also planned to submit the film to a film festival once he finished it. If the film festival selected the film, he planned to submit it to PBS so that more people would be able to see the film.
A fellow practitioner told him that he had made an excellent choice of the subject. The student said, "The subject of Falun Gong is very powerful and appealing. I want more people to know about the truth about the persecution against Falun Gong." He also said that he would come the next day to start shooting the documentary. When the practitioner told him that it might rain tomorrow, he said he would still come because the rain would accentuate the spirit of Falun Gong practitioners.
In a Subway Train
On our way to return to our temporary residence in New York, we distributed Falun Gong Today newspapers in our subway train and many passengers took the newspapers. We glanced back and saw a whole train of passengers reading Falun Gong Today in unison. We regretted not having a camera with us so that we could capture this touching moment.
