Landscapes including lakes and rivers are among the favorite subjects of Chinese brush painting. On this limited amount of canvas space, the Artist has portrays three major planes: the light gray scale of the mountains in the backdrop, the green-blue mountain foreground, and scenes from the village on the water vividly depicted in the foreground.
