[PureInsight.org] The first legislative action by the U.K. government marks an official resistance against the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP’s) forced organ harvesting crimes. This enactment conveys a clear message to the international community.
Amendments to the U.K.’s Medicines and Medical Devices Bill 2021 became official law after receiving Royal Assent on February 11. The goal of the amendments was to curb the CCP’s practice of harvesting organs from living prisoners of conscience. The amendments simultaneously aim to stop overseas-imported human tissues, organs, and cells entering British medical institutions.
The amendments were proposed by Lord Hunt of Kings Heath, a parliament member in the House of Lords. He believes that the new Bill can not only prevent Britain from being complicit in this crime against humanity, but also spread this important message to other countries.
In March 2020, a judgment by the Independent Tribunal based in London declared that the CCP continues to commit forced organ harvesting crimes, to which Falun Gong practitioners fall victims as the main source of organ supply. The judgment included evidence submitted by independently verified witnesses, causing grave concern among British legislators.
