[PureInsight.org] Because of Falun Gong’s worldwide spread, the overseas fellow practitioners could practice together, parade, rally, and clarify the truth against the persecution. The shirts with some characters such as “Fa Lun Da Fa is Good”, “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance” worn by our fellow practitioners become the symbol of Falun Gong practitioners. Not only the mainland practitioners admire us, all people around the world are attracted by overseas practitioners’ free, spectacular and impressive activities. They are spreading the gospel of Falun Dafa to the world, awakening people’s conscience.
Firstly, Always think of yourself as a cultivator
No matter where you are or what event it is, as long as you wear Dafa shirt, you are a Falun Gong practitioner. People look at you as a Falun Gong practitioner according to "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance". In front of the public, your behavior intentionally or unintentionally shows posture and style of Falun Gong practitioner. They are all silent truths related to the truth clarification. People will look at you and evaluate our whole group according to Dafa philosophy.
It’s a little like when a person is known as a teacher, people often look at this person with the image of a teacher, such as knowledgeable, gentle and courteous. When you see a monk at the street, people usually don’t look him as an ordinary person, his behavior and deeds are more eye-catching. So we should always remember we are Dafa disciples to cultivate from the outside to the inside to achieve as Master said in The Great Way of Spiritual Perfection, "The Mind and Body Join Together ". We have to be strict with ourselves in all aspects in order to achieve good effect in Fa-verification activities.
Secondly, Keep stable cultivation for all time
To do this, we have to have a solid cultivation foundation. No matter what we do, we must do it according to the cultivation standards. You should think of others first at all times and look inward. Gradually, you will have a cultivation status of “so as to attain the righteous Enlightenment of selflessness and altruism" (from Non-Omission in Buddha-Nature in FALUN DAFA ESSENTIALS FOR FURTHER ADVANCEMENT).
Thirdly, Let our behavior become the catalyst for the salvation of all beings
The clothes with the characters “Falun Gong” are the symbol of Dafa disciples. It reminds us the serious cultivation and self-discipline. The fellow practitioners wearing Dafa shirts represents Falun Gong and demonstrates our responsibility of selfless cooperation. Especially with today's highly-developed communication systems, you are under the public eye as long as you wear Dafa shirts to participate in Dafa activities.
We might remember Master talked about a disciple lent his Dafa shirts to an ordinary person, “The clothes you wear represent Dafa disciples. If you casually loan it to an ordinary person, and that person does things not befitting the Fa or that shouldn't be done, then are you saving sentient beings or ruining them?” (from Fa Teaching at the 2009 Greater New York International Fa Conference) You can tell it’s not a trivial matter to wear Dafa shirts in Dafa activities for the salvation of sentient beings.
From the lecture, I realize we must pay attention to our Dafa shirts and behavior. For most people, it’s hard for them to understand the truth of Falun Gong. Most time, they were watching us silently with either admiration, shock, agreement or a sigh. Our behavior is related to whether they can be saved.
Especially for the mainland travelers, the opportunity should be cherished. They will be the live media after going back to China. Everything happening right now will be the truth information for them. How many people are affected by our behavior? Not to mention the countless Gods watching us. We have to do well and let our behavior become the catalyst for the salvation of all beings. We shouldn’t lose the opportunity to save people due to our own behavior’s omission.
Fourthly, Face your behavior, improve yourself to form one indestructible body
In fact, mainland practitioners admire overseas fellow practitioners can wear Dafa shirts to attend Dafa activities, such as parade, large-scale functions, Tian Guo Marching Band, collective exercise, meditating at the Chinese consulate, signature collection and truth clarification, etc. Their hard work are a huge hit in Fa-verification. All disciples understand their mission: Cultivation in Dafa must be done according to Dafa requirement. Fa-verification and Fa activities are all parts of Dafa. We should demonstrate Dafa disciples’ behavior in ordinary people world to meet the requirement of “he is full of great aspirations while minding minor details.”(from Sage in FALUN DAFA ESSENTIALS FOR FURTHER ADVANCEMENT).
I can still remember mainland practitioners wore Falun Gong badges before 1999. It was to spread Dafa and let more people know Falun Gong. Some practitioner said, “Wearing Falun Gong badge is to spread Dafa and showing our cultivator’s identity. We should strictly regulate ourselves according ‘Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance’. So people could see Dafa’s beauty and purity.” For sure, cultivation is always self-cultivation.
Today, overseas fellow practitioners can illuminate themselves as cultivators and clarify the truth by wearing Dafa shirts. It’s respectable that they can face their behavior from the bottom of hearts. What they need to do is to improve themselves and embrace the whole. Through Fa study and exchange, they will do better and better to demonstrate real Dafa practitioners’ style and realm.
Fifthly, Truly improve ourselves by better Fa study
My understanding is our fellow practitioners’ behavior will influence ordinary people directly at every moment such as truth clarification and Fa spreading.
Before I obtained the Fa, I was invited to watch Master's lecture video with my co-workers. I hesitated to cultivate because I was pretty young at that time. However, when I came to the yard full of people, I saw everyone was waiting there quietly. Nobody made noise or walked around. It was very quiet and peaceful. 20 years passed, I could still remember it clearly. Now, our fellow practitioners’ powerful cultivation and sincere behavior become a good opportunity for people to obtain Fa and practice. More and more people come to practice Dafa firmly.
Similar to our dress code, our actions also reflects on us. For example, some fellow practitioner tried to clarify the truth with vegetable seller by pretending to pick up some vegetables. Even they said they didn’t want to purchase vegetables but to lengthen the time with the vegetable seller. Some practitioners didn’t pay attention to other’s reaction to their behavior during the truth clarification; some regretted about their behavior influenced by the party culture in public, etc. Fortunately, they could realize it and make changes immediately. Actually cultivation is to improve Xinxing step by step.
Finally, I want to share a piece of lecture from Master’s Teaching the Fa at the 2002 Fa Conference in Boston, “In your efforts to save sentient beings you've labored so hard to allow people to have a new understanding of us. So when you don't do well, it's quite possible you are unwittingly undermining the efforts you've made and some of the things you plan to do. You are cultivators, whose conduct is [supposed to be] pure and righteous. There are so many people who think you're great just by having seen how you act. If we don't pay attention to our own behavior in our daily lives, everyday people will see our actions and, since they can't get to know you at a deep level such as by studying the Fa, they will just look at how you act. And it's possible that one sentence or one action of yours will make them unsavable or create a bad impression of Dafa. We need to think about these things.”
