Hatred Banners Removed in Hong Kong

A Dafa Disciple

PureInsight | July 28, 2013

[PureInsight.org] Last summer (2012), many large eye-catching banners began appearing in Hong Kong. The banners were filled with anti-Falun Gong words and inflammatory remarks. They appeared in a number of places around Hong Kong including the airport, train stations and many busy downtown streets. A pro-CCP (Chinese Communist Party) organization called Hong Kong Youth Care Association Limited (or HKYCAL) was found to be behind the distribution of the hatred banners.

HKYCAL receives much of its financial support from various channels that are connected to the CCP regime in Beijing, China. Former Chinese central government Political Bureau member Mr. Zeng Qinghong had been using his power behind HKYCAL to spread the influence of the CCP in Hong Kong for many years. As the Chinese regime is currently still heavily persecuting Falun Gong and its practitioners in mainland China, the communist regime has planned to use HKYCAL to help carry out its crackdown on Falun Gong in Hong Kong as well.

However, Hong Kong residents recently had enough of all those hatred banners. They expressed total distaste for such low and abusive behavior. The Hong Kong government seems to have listened to the complaints and has recently issued an order to HKYCAL to remove all the banners from the city. Majority of those banners were later removed.

In a public statement, the Hong Kong government recently indicated that a certain organization had put up many banners in public areas, some of which were even put up in places where they were strictly prohibited. The banners could potentially endanger pedestrians, so the government sought tougher enforcement, including criminal charges, against any unauthorized distribution of banners.

On April 3, the Department of Environment Health in Hong Kong issued an order to HKYCAL asking HKYCAL to remove all unauthorized distributed banners. If the banners were not removed in a timely manner, the department itself would remove the banners at the expense of the owner. Criminal charges would also be considered if the situation continued.

The farce that has been carried out for almost one year in Hong Kong by HKYCAL, which applied methods used during China’s Cultural Revolution to verbally and physically attack Hong Kong Falun Gong practitioners, is now coming to an end. It is apparent that the CCP’s influence, especially that from the former Chinese leader Mr. Jiang Zemin and his cronies, is now diminishing.
