Falun Gong Practitioners Join Parade in Support of 40 Million Chinese Who Quit the CCP

Around noon on July 18, 2008, over 2000 Falun Gong practitioners from around the world, along with several local organizations, participated a grand parade in Washington DC in support of the 40 million Chinese people who have quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and calling for an end of the persecution of Falun Gong in China. The parade featured the Celestial Marching Band at the front and was capped off by a troupe of Chinese waist drummers. The parade began at the Washington Monument and crossed Constitution Avenue and K Street before ending at Farragut Square near the White House.

The long and peaceful procession attracted numerous sidewalk spectators, many of whom work in the government buildings that line the route.
