[PureInsight.org] On November 10, 2005, just days before President Bush visits China, Falun Gong practitioners rallied at Farragut Square near the White House to urge President Bush to ask Hu Jintao, Chairman of the Chinese Communist Party, to end the persecution against Falun Gong and to help rescue children orphaned by China's persecution against their parents who practice Falun Gong.

Ms. Wang Xiaodan's father, Wang Zhiwen, was illegally sentenced to 16 years in prison shortly after the Chinese Communist regime announced its persecution against Falun Gong in July 1999. Ms. Wang flew from Houston, Texas to attend the rally and to urge President Bush to pay attention to her father and the children orphaned by China's persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. Human rights attorney Martin McMahon urged President Bush to pay more attention to Mr. Gao Zhicheng, a civil attorney in China whose law firm had its certificate to practice recently suspended recently because he wrote a letter to Hu Jintao and Wen Jiabao to appeal for Falun Gong practitioners.

Some of the many passersby had not heard about Falun Gong before and were anxious to know what Falun Gong is.
