Free to Practice Falun Gong at Taiwan's Top High School

[PureInsight.org] Taipei Municipal Chien-Kuo High School is the best high school in Taiwan. It admits only students with top academic achievements and is renowned for its extraordinarily gifted students and their stellar academic performance. Many students go on to lead highly successful lives after they graduate. The school counts several Nobel Prize winners among its alumni.

Many teachers at Chien-Kuo High School practice Falun Gong (also known as Falun Dafa). Under their positive influence, some of their students have also begun practicing Falun Gong. Two of the three art teachers at Chien-Kuo High School are Falun Gong practitioners. They put out Falun Gong books and truth-clarification materials about the persecution in the art classrooms for students and post colorful pictures illustrating the facts about Falun Gong on their office windows. The students often stand in front of their office to look at the "Falun Dafa photo exhibit." Many students greet these teachers with the words "Falun Dafa is good."

In this nurturing environment, a twelfth-grade student in the "talented and gifted class" obtained the Fa and began practicing Falun Gong. He soon became a very determined practitioner and would often introduce Falun Gong to his fellow classmates and teachers, and share his cultivation experience with them.

He won the annual contest for the best decorated classroom. His decorations included the words "Truthfulness Compassion Forbearance," which he posted on a bulletin board at the front of the classroom. When he took a picture of his work, his camera captured countless Falun [Law Wheel] emblems in the photograph.

The following semester, he drew lotus flowers on the wall in the back of the classroom and wrote "Truthfulness Compassion Forbearance" above the flowers. The picture fills the classroom with a harmonious atmosphere. He often wrote Falun Dafa poems on the blackboard, and his fellow students liked them. Recently, his classmates co-signed his application to establish a Falun Gong Student Club and gave him a lot of support.

The teachers and students in Taiwan have the freedom to learn about and practice Falun Gong. In sharp contrast, Falun Gong practitioners in China, just across the Taiwan Strait, suffer severe persecution for their steadfast faith in Falun Gong. Jiang Zemin's group has deceived the public and tried to incite the Chinese people to hate Falun Gong and its practitioners. China's Ministry of Education has fully endorsed Jiang's policy against Falun Gong. As a result, teachers who practice Falun Gong have been fired and even sent to brainwashing centers and forced labor camps. For refusing to renounce Falun Gong, students are expelled from school and denied graduation and admission to schools. Many students and educators are known to have died in police custody.
