[PureInsight.org] To have the Chinese people condemn the persecution against Falun Gong, I believe we need to let every Chinese citizen know the truth about the persecution, and to foster an environment that supports Chinese citizens' opposition to the persecution. I believe that if we can take a leadership role in clarifying the truth to all Chinese citizens, they will naturally step forward to speak out against the persecution.
Teacher has explained how to better clarify the truth in "Teaching the Fa at the 2003 Atlanta Fa Conference" [November 29, 2003]. I think that if we ask ourselves a few more questions [about how to better clarify the truth] and reflect a bit more, then we will be able to find the answers in Fa study.
These are a few questions that I have been asking myself lately:
? Aren't the persecutors trying to destroy the cornerstones of the Chinese culture and even the very human nature when they do not allow Chinese people to cultivate the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance?? How do we let everyone in China know about the truth [about Falun Dafa and the persecution]?
? How do we foster a better acceptance of the truth and more participation in clarifying the truth?
Recently I learned that the more one clarifies the truth, the better one is at it. Then when you see a Chinese individual, you will feel a sense of closeness and compassion towards him or her. Remember that Teacher once told a story about a Taoist disciple following his Tao master and jumping into a palm-sized wine gourd? Isn't this about faith? Teacher said:
...when you want to enter that dimension, everything of your body has to conform to the state of that dimension before you can enter.
(From "Lecture at the Western United States Fa Conference" (Los Angeles, 1999)) I think that story illustrates a Fa principle: If you want to enter into that dimension, then you must have complete faith in Teacher and assimilate yourself to the teaching and requirements of Teacher without any hesitation or doubt.
If we can successfully clarify the truth to all the governments in the world, whose foreign affairs departments or ministries, as well as their embassies and consulates all over the world, are inclined to oppose the persecution against Falun Dafa, then they are more likely to reject visa applications from the 28,727 (as of March 12, 2004) participants of the persecution listed at http://fawanghuihui.org. ["Fa Wang Hui Hui" means the dragnet of the law. It is a web site that compiles and publishes factual information about the persecution against Falun Gong practitioners, including names, phone numbers, work organizations, and the crimes against humanity of the people participating in the persecution. ] Those participants of the persecution will have to explain to their friends and families as to why no government will issue them visas. In addition, the visa rejections of a large number of participants of the persecution will become known to the public and the press, and then the public criticism that will undoubtedly ensue will pressure the participants to lessen the persecution. Further, the fact that these [persecution] participants' visa applications to foreign countries are rejected because of their participation in the persecution of Falun Gong will act as a warning to their fellow participants in the persecution.
Writing [truth-clarification] articles can intimidate the participants in the persecution because our pens are Fa tools which our Teacher gave us. We will manifest naturally in the articles when we write our respective cultivation levels of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. I remember the article in wistful memory of Big Sister Jiang, "Offering a Heshi." [It is appropriate for Chinese people to address elder women outside the family as "Big Sister" as an expression of affection and respect. ] It was like a poem and touched many people.
A few days ago a fellow practitioner told me that local reporters like to keep in contact with her. In the past few years, she has been clarifying the truth to the local reporters, and would tell them about every local Falun Gong activity beforehand. She even notified them of the upcoming Falun Dafa cultivation experience sharing conference before she went out of town to attend the conference. Every time she called the reporters, she would add something about the truth [about Falun Dafa and the persecution] in their conversation. Later when reporters finished interviewing her at her home, they didn't want to leave. It appears that she had blended the truth-clarification work into her daily life. She also shared with me that she does not allow herself to harbor any bad feelings toward any fellow practitioner. When there is a conflict where she sees a fellow practitioner's attachment, she will look inward and inspect herself if she has the same attachment.
Maybe this is the natural result of doing the three things well [like the Tao cultivator who jumps into the palm-size wine gourd when he has utmost faith in following his master's words.] Our righteous faith, righteous thoughts and righteous actions will have a positive influence on the everyday people around us, and naturally encourage them to speak out against the persecution. This perfectly illustrates what Teacher said, "The Buddha-light illuminates everywhere and rectifies all abnormalities." (From "Energy Field" in Lecture Three of Zhuan Falun)
