Our Aim
Many scientists agree that a new scientific era has arrived and more people are seeking deeper understanding of: What connects the human body, nature and the universe? The IIFSC Science Forums and Seminars aim to raise public awareness of emerging scientific paradigms, and to provide open platforms for scientists from diverse fields to share insights and recent research findings.
Feature Topic & International Presenter
"Qigong" is an ancient Chinese practice of body and mind. Its health effect has long been recognised. Yet, what is Qigong's mechanism for health at the cellular and genes levels?
International presenter - immunologist and molecular biologist - Lili Feng MD, Associate Professor from Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, is here to present findings from her new research into the "Molecular Biology of Qigong", and discuss how the Falun Gong practice exerts unusual controls over the gene bank of white blood cells, and generate a noble Yin/Yang harmonised immune mechanism against infectious diseases.
Professor Feng has published more than 70 papers in peer-review journals and presented more than 50 abstracts at scientific conferences around the world. Her laboratory has received four grants from private pharmaceutical companies and three research grants awarded by the US National Institute of Health.
Other Topic & Discussion
• Placebo/Nocebo effects and the human mind • Time & multiple-dimensional universe • Bio-defense • Anti-oxidizing agents & Traditional Chinese Medicine • Cosmic view of cellular behaviors • and more …
The Institute
The International Institute of Future Science and Culture (IIFSC, www.iifsc.org) is a broad-based coalition of scientists from many disciplines who believe that true science can advance if unfettered by rigid conventions and boundaries delimited by old paradigms, and wish to explore the future following a multidisciplinary, multidimensional path. It aims to provide an interdisciplinary framework and support for explorations into the theories and applications of new paradigms in scientific and cultural endeavors.
