Righteous Thoughts are Absolutely Unshakeable

In the process of Fa-Rectification, Dafa disciples are continuously validating, perfecting, as well as creating Dafa’s manifestation in the human world. Lately as Teacher’s new articles are being published one after another the entire Fa-Rectification process has entered a brand new phase. The cultivation and utilization of righteous thoughts by Dafa practitioners’ have become the focus and key at this current stage. Teacher’s articles “Dafa Disciples’ Righteous Thoughts are Powerful”, “What are Supernormal Abilities”, and “Dafa is Indestructible” are all directly guiding practitioners in how to understand, how to cultivate, and how to utilize our righteous thoughts. At the same time, from our own cultivation experiences in this period, and from the situation seen by those practitioners whose gong is not locked up, we also have come to know that the remaining evil force in the universe has frantically “taken advantage of the unremoved notions that are at Dafa disciples' human surface, and Dafa disciples' karma, to make their righteous thoughts falter.” (“Dafa is Indestructible”).

Last weekend, I took part in the parade during the Chicago Fa Conference. During the parade I maintained a compassionate and righteous mind, distributing Dafa information along the way. It was crowded and busy when we came to the main road in downtown Chicago. Trying our best not to affect the normal traffic, practitioners in the procession stayed to one side of the walkway. At that moment, one thought appeared in my mind: “would people generate any bad thoughts against Dafa just because the traffic might be impacted by the parade! A little while after this thought emerged, a short conversation between two middle-aged American ladies floated into my ears. In their conversation, there seemed to be a vague little trace of that kind of thought I had just been worrying about. All at once, even more human sentiments swelled up. I started to sense as if I was being surrounded by something intangible, my heart felt a kind of pressure and restraint. As a result, distributing Dafa information became a difficult task.

Suddenly I realized - isn’t this just another one of the wicked designs and arrangements by the evil force in the old universe? This thought that had emerged in my mind was itself a type of warped human mentality. This is because, being considerate for the situation of others, a kind person will not, and should not, generate any bits of hostility in response to only a slight inconvenience. As for today’s humankind, their indifference in the face of others suffering, and their mentality of having to fight for the tiniest bit of self-interest, are in themselves a type of moral degeneration. This degeneration is grounds for the old evil force to hide, and also their way to control people’s minds. As for that one thought I had, in a way, it was an acceptance of this kind of degenerated way of thinking. And evil had exactly made use of this impure thought of mine, who arranged for me to hear the conversation of those ladies, re-enforcing this kind of mentality in order to interfere with my righteous thoughts, and stop me from participating in Fa-Rectification. When I realized this, I immediately concentrated my mind to eradicate these impure thoughts. In my thoughts, I waved my hand, capturing this demon that had triggered this type of warped thinking among the people in downtown Chicago, and then I dissolved it using Gong. After doing this twice, my heart was again filled with sunshine and compassion, and I was again able to distribute Dafa information with ease.

What I’ve found lately is that this very type of situation and process has become very common during this period of cultivation and Fa rectification work. This kind of process is in fact one specific manifestation of cultivating during Fa rectification, as well as rectifying the Fa during cultivation.

In the above example, the demon involved was one that was relatively easy to handle. Once my righteous thought came out, it was eliminated. However, from the latest articles and lectures by Teacher, we can all understand that the evil force has gone entirely frantic at the present time. Because Dafa Disciples are still cultivators, superficially, our human side can only see those aspects which we still have not cultivated well and also those attachments or impurities of ours that are still remaining. Therefore the majority of us practitioners who cultivate in the “locked” state have, more or less, some doubts about our own abilities. This is the result of the evil forces taking advantage of a loophole, attempting to undermine practitioners’ righteous thoughts and faith at all costs. They are using the situation in which many practitioners still have human ways of thinking, and are still wishing to find proofs of their supernormal abilities in this physical dimension in which this pair of flesh eyes can see. They are willing to sacrifice anything or anyone to maintain the manifestation of evil in this dimension on the superficial level.

For example, not long ago I read an article on minghui.net written by practitioners in China. It talked about what happened when they sent forth righteous thoughts together, towards a sign post which slandered Dafa. After they sent righteous thoughts forth the sign post was still there and was only chipped at its corner. Similar things happened locally as well – not long after sending forth righteous thoughts as a group, we received e-mails from wicked people, viciously slandering Dafa. There are plenty similar examples. When faced with this situation, what’s most critical is our state of mind as well as our thought process. Some practitioners doubt their own ability, or even doubt the Fa Teacher has taught us. Some practitioners become passive, feeling nothing can be done. All of these are what the evil wants most. At a certain stage I more or less experienced these kinds of problems myself, until a couple of days ago, when I read one sentence in Zhuan Falun (from “The Issue of Tianmu” in Chapter Two), “Let me give you an instance. It is said in Buddhism that every phenomenon in the human society is an illusion and unreal.” The word “every” awakened me. I realized that I had been taking what’s on the surface human dimension too seriously, as if it were real. How can a Dafa practitioner, a cultivator who is gradually breaking away from humanness and moving towards divinity be so attached to such a kind of notion? “As a Dafa disciple, your determined, righteous thoughts are absolutely unshakeable” (“Dafa is Indestructible”). After identifying this attachment, I feel like I grew an even deeper understanding of the principle, “to achieve consummation through enlightenment”. Teacher and Dafa gave us supernormal abilities, and told us our righteous thoughts are powerful. As a Dafa Disciple, as a future God, Buddha, or Tao being established for Dafa, what we must do is send forth the absolutely purest righteous thoughts; there is no such thing as giving up, and it must be absolutely unshakeable.
