My Understanding of ";Wuyi";

A Disciple from Mainland China

PureInsight | January 14, 2002

When I try to enter a state of ding [a state of empty, yet conscious mind], I unconsciously think about things. Sometimes I think about jobs that haven't been done well or I should have treated something in a certain way, and so on. Although the thoughts are not bad, they still spoil the quiet state. Consequently, I intentionally add the thoughts of “wuyi” [being without any intent]. Sometimes I continuously think about being without intent. But as a matter of fact, this is a compulsive action that, as time passes, will become a disguised attachment.

Then what is the real “without intent?” I personally think that the real wuyi is a kind of wuwei [inaction/non-action] for thoughts. To think about being without intent is to be with intent, and a kind of youwei [action]. Actually being “without intent” is a realm of empty space where there is not even the thought of being “without intent.” This empty space is not in the outer space understood by human beings. It is the empty space that is of the “still water” state without ripples and vibrations as described in Master's lecture. [Lectures in the United States, 'Teaching the Fa in San Francisco”]

Being without “wuyi” is already youyi. Why not abandon “wuyi” as well? As a Fa-rectification disciple, we should understand the Fa from the Fa’s perspective and rectify everything that is not righteous and rise to the level of “Removal of attachments is truly unintentional” (From “Unintentional” in Hongyin, Teacher's book of poetry). This is a requisite of completely assimilating Dafa.
